1. What are the positive impacts of ICT in the following industries?
a. Business - ICT makes a business more efficient, effective and promptly respond to customers' needs. ICT can assist business activities including design, manufacturing, R&D, distribution and sales and feedback. b. Travel and Food industry - ICTs have transformed tourism globally and offer a range of new opportunities for development. Tourism related products could boost the globalization of the tourism industry in areas such as hotels, restaurants, travel agencies or tour operators. c. Manufacturing - Innovative use of ICT can result in new sales channels, new product capabilities and product differentiation. ICT can also reduce costs, increase productivity and improve the base for strategic decision-making and risk management. These results should be reflected in enhanced business performance. d. Military - ICT is the acronym for Information and Communication Technology and it has introduced a variety of transformations in defense industry in terms of advancements in their weapons like smart weapons and management for battlefield in network-centric, superiority in air and outer space, real time combat surveillance and force multipliers on basis of software. e. Entertainment - The internet and easy accessibility of information through ICT has changed entertainment making it much more illegal downloads has led to rapid increase in plagiarism popular, easy, convenient and enjoyable. Almost every area of leading to poor education standards. 2. Give at least three negative effects of technology in a person. 1. Technology affects our sleeping habits. - Technology has definitely impacted how we sleep. Many of us stay up far too late into the night texting friends or scrolling through social media. 2. Technology leaves us feeling isolated. - The attachment to our devices can also leave us feeling isolated. A significant lack of human contact can even cause depression. When the majority of our interactions with others take place online, we may even feel disconnected from humanity. Sometimes our online friends are not really friends at all. 3. Technology is a constant source of distraction. - Having every answer in the world constantly at our fingertips is a massive source of distraction. It might be as simple as troubles holding a conversation to difficulty keeping your phone out of your hand while driving.
