1) Describe the physical and psychological profile of the little prince. (Explain
why)

The Little Prince was a little boy with blue eyes, golden curls and fair skin. Like
all children, the Little Prince was very naïve, imaginative, happy, innocent and
often distracted. Being a child, he uses a very simple and direct language. He
shows himself very noble of feelings trying to rescue the best forgotten human
feelings. He personifies all that is good in life, and is able to appreciate the
essentials of things.

He lived on a planet called B612, this was an asteroid that was very far from
earth.

2) What was the historical context of France while the “little prince” was
being published? (Explain)

The novel was published in April 1943,in both English and French, by the
American publisher Reynal & Hitchcock, as France at the time had been
invaded by the Nazis. The French publisher Éditions Gallimard could not print
the work until 1946, after the liberation of France, after the Second World War.

3) What does symbolize the characters that were visited by the little prince in
their planets? (Explain deeply)

The king: represents authority, the ambition for power and the desire to subject
others to our whims. At the same time, it makes us see that no one has authority
over us and we are responsible for our actions. This one was very fanciful
believed that he ruled over everything and like the little prince he felt alone also
his planet.

The Vain: this character represents the desire for recognition, selfishness and
admiration in the social sphere. It can also represent insecurity since the world
we live in only seeks social acceptance. It makes us reflect on the times we act
without taking into account the feelings or desires of others. It reminds us that
vanity is a defect that we all manifest at some point, and that we are no better
than anyone else.
The drunkard: se refers to people who do not act in the face of difficulties. It
represents the lack of willpower and human overcoming. This character is in a
loop, which allows us to see how a problem can led us to a dead end. The loop
of eternal dissatisfaction in which the adult feels. The life of many adults,
usually monotonous and with various frustrations, it is a loop of shame.
The businessman: represents greed, ambition and materialism. Consuming just
because, without any satisfaction. The character is always busy counting the
stars he owns and the ones he will buy to get richer. He has no time for anything
or anyone, everything annoys him. In reality, he is a slave to work who is not
happy.
The man of the lantern: Represents loyalty and responsibility, earns the
respect and friendship of the little prince because it fulfills the function of
turning on and off the lantern at dawn and dusk, it would seem simple his work,
if it were not for the fact that the days passed in a minute. He was a slave to his
trade and had no time to rest. This commitment represents the humble worker
of society, who fulfills his work honestly to support his family, and also makes
us reflect on the passage of time.
The geographer: represents the comfort zone since simply this character
always stays doing his daily routine and does nothing different, because it is
what he is used to. He is a wise, intelligent and studious character, but he is very
attached to security. It makes us see that there are times when we are afraid to
try new things or take different paths, because we feel safe in our comfort zone
and we are depriving ourselves of knowing the world.
Earth: Finally, the little prince visits our planet. In it, he sees extraordinary
things, a multitude of flowers, a powerful serpent and a friendly and wise fox.
The Snake refers to loneliness; to how alone we can become, even though there
are many people around us.
The fox represents the friendship and trust between friends and the need we
have, as social beings, to relate and to have someone to trust. It teaches you the
true meaning of friendship and the essence of human relationships.
The message from Earth is that the planet has a number of things to value and
enjoy, yet men no longer have time to devote to all the things that their
wonderful planet provides for them.

4) What does the rose mean for the author? (Explain)

First, the rose is very feminine and bipolar, it represents itself the vanity and
pride in knowing that it is unique and feeling cared for; without realizing that in
reality all its importance lies in the care given to it by The Little Prince, who
depends on him to be able to live. In a way, it also represents selfishness because
the rose only thinks about it.
The rose for The Little Prince is pure, selfless love, that love that is above one's
own interests. For The Little Prince, as the author quotes in his book, the rose is
unique since it is his rose, to which he dedicates his life and all his care.

It could be said that the Rose represents all women, since her personality and her
way of being is identical to that of women.

For the author Saint-Exupéry, he does not refer to any rose but to Consuelo, née
Suncín, his wife, his love.

5) Make a brief analysis about the message that the author wants to transmit
(At least 200 words)

At the moment in which the author Saint Euxpéry goes into exile in the United
States as a result of the battle of France, he decides to write this work, taking
specific situations of his life, in which he touches on themes that relate to life
values such as love, friendship and the loss of loved ones.
The author makes a deep analysis of the human soul, showing us a free, pure
and just spirit. At the same time, he guides and advises us, on what we have
inside, he speaks to us of the effort, sacrifice, and time we must devote to
developing our skills, the daily struggle in society to create bonds of love and
friendship, and the responsibility we have over these ties, or achieve ideals.
It also mentions the importance of making mistakes in order to learn and take
unexpected paths without fear frisk, and that the decisions we make and the
actions we take have consequences in some way.
The main message is expressed the simple phrase: "The essential is invisible to
the eyes", that is, those things invisible to the eyes that, in the end, are the ones
that really matter. It is a reflection on those things that, sometimes, we are not
able to see, because we observe them with a superficial look. Not always the
most important thing is the obvious. This is a constant in the book, which calls
us to see beyond appearances.
