Photomath Plus: How Photomath Ruined The App Using A Subscription
subscription
Photomath is an app where students, parents, and teachers can solve mathematical
problems. It offers solving equations using camera, step-by-step solving of
mathematical problems, animated tutorials, an equation editor, workbook problems,
and more.
The app started in 2014 as an project of Microblink, where it used their OCR
technology for solving problems using camera. The app is commercially successful.
Because of this, Photomath became part of a new company called Photomath Inc. The
app has around 2 million reviews on Google Play Store with an average review rating
of 4.7.
Personally, I stand that I don’t like Photomath Plus. While I liked the features the
subscription offers, I don’t like the subscription itself. Basically, Photomath ruined the
app using the subscription. Features that used to be free like detailed step is now part
of Photomath Plus.
This change affects the Photomath app starting with version 7.0.0. One day, I opened
the app after the 7.0.0 update for the first time, and that was the first time that I saw
Photomath Plus. Unfortunately, the subscription is expensive for me, approximately
PHP 500. On January 2021, I tried the 7-day free trial. I am satisfied, but unfortunately,
I could not extend or repeat the trial.
The subscription is not something that I would try. Before version 7.0.0, there is no
subscription. I would like the Photomath app before version 7.0.0 slightly more.
Because of this, I tried to get the subscription for free. I tried using Lucky Patcher, but it
didn’t work. So I downloaded cracked versions of Photomath that lets me use the
subscription features for free. But that version has problems, it sometimes crashes
immediately when the app opens.
There is a way to contribute to the Photomath workbook solutions by being a Math
Expert. This is where I can get the detailed steps at almost no cost. I and my father
tried to join the Math Expert program, and used it for the first time, but it seems like
everything gets harder.
The reason for my opinion is because I said that Photomath ruined the app. Detailed
steps and animated tutorials were free before version 7.0.0. Those features that I
remembered using for free, I need to pay for that now. The end result is that I tried the
methods above like the cracked versions and Lucky Patcher.
Summary: A simple subscription offered by Photomath can cause chaos for the users.
The number of 1-star reviews spiked after the release of the subscription. While the
Photomath app can help solve your problems, it can still ruin your day.
