Section I
A teacher is a facilitator of learning and of the
development of the youth: he shall, therefore,
render the best service by providing an
environment conductive to such learning and
growth.
CASE # 1
Teacher Core is a Physics professor, he makes his
subject more difficult to his students. Hence, the
teacher failed to create a friendly environment and
nurturing learning environment for his students to
learn and appreciate the lessons.
Section iI
Every teacher shall provide leadership and
initiative to actively participate in
community movements for moral, social,
educational, economic and civic betterment
CASE # 2
Teacher Alex usually did not want to involved his self
in the community, he hates to lead community groups
and organizations. Hence, the teacher failed to gain
more experiences and make abstract concepts
accessible to students. Teachers also failed to expose
children to ideas and topics that they might otherwise
not have come into contact with. He also failed in
improving his self to instruct and meets the needs of
the students, school and community.
Section iIi
Every teacher shall merit reasonable social
recognition for which purpose he shall
behave with honor and dignity at all times
and refrain for such activities as gambling,
smoking, drunkenness, and other excesses,
much less illicit relations.
CASE # 3
Teacher Anthony is caught by one of his students on
the way home smoking and drinking in a bar. Hence,
the Teacher doesn't show decency of living at all times
and failed to uphold school policies and the laws,
giving "contrary signals' to the youngsters
Section iv
Every teacher shall live for and with the
community and shall, therefore, study and
understand local customs and traditions in
order to have sympathetic attitude, therefore,
refrain from disparaging the community.
CASE # 4
Teacher Jomar Bom make fun with one of his student'
accent and humilates its curly hair, making the other
students laugh and making fun with their classmates.
Hence, the Teacher failed to understand the language
and culture of the community that is the key to
relating well with the students, their parents, and
community members. Failed to show sympathetic
attitude and disparaging the community.
Section v
Every teacher shall help the school keep the
people in the community informed about the
school’s work and accomplishments as well as
its needs and problems.
CASE # 5
Teacher V collects money from her students for them to
purchase an air conditioner for their classroom. The students
then willingly paid the amount set by the him. After purchasing
the item which served as a project of the students, Teacher V
forgot to create an accomplishment report about it.
Transparency and accomplishment reports are important as it
provides the necessary information to the parents of the
students as to what are the things that was accomplished by
their children and Teacher V failed to provide it. With this the
Teacher V failed to fulfill her duty which was written in the Article
3 Section 5 of the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers
Section vi
Every teacher is intellectual leader in the
community, especially in the barangay. and shall
welcome the opportunity to provide such
leadership when needed, to extend counseling
services, as appropriate, and to actively be
involved in matters affecting the welfare of the
people.
CASE # 6
Teacher C was invited as a resource speaker about
Stress Management in the community. This will be a
good opportunity for teacher C to extend his services
but he refused in participating because he make an
excuse of him being so busy. With this Teacher C
failed to participate in opportunities that would
extend his talents to the needs of the community.
Section vii
Every teacher shall maintain harmonious and
pleasant personal and official relations with
other professionals, with government
officials, and with the people, individually or
collectively.
CASE # 7
Teacher C has an issue with the community nurse because of
some misunderstanding. She always make a story about the
nurse and give a false information about her leading. The
community nurse on the other hand wants to make things right
between her and Teacher C but Teacher C being so boastful and
have a high pride refused it. She doesn't want to arrange settle
things between her and the nurse. She thinks that, she as a
teacher is higher than anyone within the community. With this,
Teacher C failed to follow the Code of Ethics for Professional
Teachers which was indicated on Article 3 Section 7.
Section viii
A teacher posses freedom to attend church
and worships as appropriate, but shall not
use his positions and influence to proselyte
others.
CASE # 8
Teacher Rick is convincing and influencing his
students to convert and join with his religion or belief,
but one of his student doesn't want to and the teacher
shows discrimination in any circumstances against
the learner. Hence, the teacher failed to have the
freedom to religious profession and worship which
embodies the right to believe what they wish and the
right to act in accordance with such belief and use his
position to proselyte others
