Covid19 Pandemic: How does it affect you and what is the impact it made to our industry?

A lot of things change due to Covid19 Pandemic. Different establishments were forced to shut down,
people were not allowed to go outside, face masks, and other protective gears were needed to wear, there are
many army and authority who you can see roaming and checking around. Also, transportation and travel are
temporary suspended and check points are all-over the place. These are some of the changes that happened to
the society which we- humans are not used to.
As an individual, Coronavirus affects me a lot. It affects my life physically, socially, and
psychologically. My life is changed. Since we are adopting the new normal, our mode of learning is different
now. We are not able to see our friends in school physically which limits us to communicate the way we were
used to. We are somehow forced to have the needed requirement (such as smartphones, laptops, internet
connection, etc.) for us to cope with the lessons. This new normal made me struggle a lot. Since I am from a
common family who is earning minimum wage, I cannot demand such things from my parents. I became more
careful in communicating with the other people and distance myself with the people around me. This not just
the impact of this pandemic but there are more within.
People also financially challenge. The economics and the industries we have here in the Philippines are
slowly failing. The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has forced many businesses to close, leading to an unusual
disruption of commerce in most industry sectors. Retailers and brands face many short-term challenges, such as
those related to health and safety, the stock chain, the workforce, funds flow, consumer demand, sales, and
marketing. However, successfully operating these challenges will not support a promising future or any future
at all. This is because once we get through this pandemic, we will begin in a very different world compared to
the one before the outbreak. Many markets, especially in the fields of tourism and hospitality, no longer exist.
All organizational functions are expected to prioritize and optimize spending or suspend tasks that will not
convey importance to the current conditions. Companies, especially small ones, have implemented an uncertain
hiring freeze. At the same time, online communication, online entertainment, and online shopping are seeing
unparalleled growth.
The COVID-19 disruption is a clear reminder that pandemics, like other unusually occurring disasters,
have occurred in the past and will continue to happen in the future. Even if we cannot prevent dangerous viruses
from rising, we should prepare to dampen their effects on society. It challenges the people to deal with it and
keep moving on their lives. We need to adapt and adjust to the new normal given by this Coronavirus.
