TRAINING DEFINED
It is a learning process that involves the acquisition of knowledge, sharpening of skills, concepts, rules, or
changing of attitudes and behaviours to enhance the performance of employees.
It’s not what you want in life, but it’s knowing how to reach it
It’s not where you want to go, but it’s knowing how to get there
It’s not how high you want to rise, but it’s knowing how to take off
It may not be quite the outcome you were aiming for, but it will be an outcome
It’s not what you dream of doing, but it’s having the knowledge to do it
It’s not the goal you set, but it’s what you need to achieve it
Training is about knowing where you stand (no matter how good or bad the current situation
looks) at present, and where you will be after some point of time.
Training is about the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) through professional
development.

Advantages of Career Development and Training
By Angela Stringfellow, eHow Contributor
Career development and training programs are offered by companies to their employees or to
independent organizations. There are thousands of opportunities each year for continuing education.
Career development and training can open up professional opportunities, and are frequently used by
those seeking to climb the corporate ladder.
1. Types
o Many organizations offer career development and training programs to employees as a
perk of employment. Community organizations, such as the Small Business Development Center, offer
seminars to members of the community for a small fee. In addition, there are training and development
companies that provide career development and training seminars to organizations or individuals. These
seminars vary widely in price.
Function
o Career development and training can help employees move ahead in his career. By
participating in voluntary career development and training opportunities, employees can show their
employer that they are willing to go the extra mile to improve their skills, and can often learn information
and obtain certifications that would qualify them for higher positions. Companies that offer career
development and training opportunities to their existing staff, do so to benefit from the increased
knowledge and efficiency the trained employees will possess.
Benefits
o Both companies and employees alike benefit from career development and training
programs. Companies are able to educate their existing staff to handle additional responsibilities, and
employees benefit from receiving a raise or being able to list the additional training on a resume. If
employees are able to show well-rounded skills and list additional training on their resumes, they have a
better chance of landing new positions.
Considerations
o The cost of a training program should be considered and weighed against potential
benefits and alternatives. Some training programs can be quite expensive, costing thousands of dollars,
and a similar program might be available for only a few hundred dollars. Any additional training can
benefit your career, but in some cases, the cost can outweigh potential benefits. For example, if a
secretary has 15 years experience, obtaining an Associate's degree is not likely to provide many
opportunities for advancement. In this case, hands-on experience can be more valuable than classroom
training.
Potential
o Career development and training programs will always play a huge role in career
advancement. Particularly during times of economic turmoil, when unemployment rates may be higher
than usual, a solid history of career development and additional training can place a candidate ahead of
the competition. A professional who takes advantage of many training opportunities in different areas
often becomes diverse and possesses a broad set of skills. This person would be better prepared to
handle a recession than someone who has never had additional training, because he may be qualified to
work in a different industry or profession.

DATA COLLECTION METHODS
SWOT ANALYSIS
Strengths:
1) Hiring of the very right persons through a very good process of selection.
2) Maximum applicants are given chances to show their abilities.
3) Tough Competition is generated by calling a big number of employees through advertisement
on both types of media i.e. Print media and Electronic media.
4) Very fruitful results are enjoyed by the organization as they have a very good work force.
5) Good Governance and Policies as they never allow participating blood relatives of the
employees
Weaknesses:
1) Innovations in Technology:
Technology is innovating very quickly, which obsoletes old machines, and new machines take their
place. Organization can use Internet instead of other types of media for advertisement.
2) Government Sector:
Government Sector is moving towards up gradation. Organization can get advertisements from the
government sector and can enhance their profits. And can hire more employees to meet their needs.
3) Staff members
Employees can be selected from the current staff members, which may be very fruitful for the
organization, as they already know the demands of the organization.
Threats:
CONCLUSION
I got a lot of experience from Jang Group of Newspapers. The organization is on the way of
progress. It has been earning profit from many years. The management is professionally qualifies and
experienced. The Organization motivates their employees by providing different incentives. Though their
salary package is not very good. The performance of the Human Resource department is also not
satisfactory. The organization should have to satisfy the demands of their customers.
Strategy-evaluation framework that can facilitate accomplishment of annual and long-term objectives.
Effective strategy evaluation allows an organization to capitalize on internal strengths as they develop,
to
exploit external opportunities as they emerge, to recognize and defend against threats, and to mitigate
internal weaknesses before they become detrimental.
Strategists in successful organizations take the time to formulate, implement, and then evaluate
strategies
deliberately and systematically. Good strategists move their organization forward with purpose and
direction, continually evaluating and improving the firm's external and internal strategic position.
Strategy
evaluation allows an organization to shape its own future rather than allowing it to be constantly shaped
by
remote forces that have little or no vested interest in the well-being of the enterprise.
Although not a guarantee for success, strategic management allows organizations to make effective
longterm
decisions, to execute those decisions efficiently, and to take corrective actions as needed to ensure
success. Computer networks and the Internet help to coordinate strategic-management activities and to
ensure that decisions are based on good information. A key to effective strategy evaluation and to
successful strategic management is an integration of intuition and analysis.
A potentially fatal problem is the tendency for analytical and intuitive issues to polarize. This polarization
leads to strategy evaluation that is dominated by either analysis or intuition, or to strategy evaluation
that is
discontinuous, with a lack of coordination among analytical and intuitive issues.1
Strategists in successful organizations realize that strategic management is first and foremost a people
process. It is an excellent vehicle for fostering organizational communication. People are what make the
difference in organizations.
The real key to effective strategic management is to accept the premise that the planning process is
more
important than the written plan, that the manager is continuously planning and does not stop planning
when the written plan is finished. The written plan is only a snapshot as of the moment it is approved. If
the manager is not planning on a continuous basis—planning, measuring, and revising—the written plan
can become obsolete the day it is finished. This obsolescence becomes more of a certainty as the
increasingly rapid rate of change makes the business environment more uncertain.
