INTRODUCTION OF WINDOWS :-

1. What is desktop ?
When referring to an operating system the Desktop is a
system of organization of icons on a screen. The opening screen
of the monitor is also called as desktop.
2. What are desktop permanent icons ?
The desktop permanent icons are
 My computer
 Recycle bin
 Internet explorer
 My documents
 My pictures
3. How to Change the date and time of the system ?
Double Click the date and time at the bottom right side
and change
4. What is cursor?
The mouse pointer is called as cursor. the cursor is
also a visible and moving pointer that the user
controls with a mouse or touch pad..
5. How to change the curser ?
Go to settings  control panel  printer and other
hardware  mouse  pointer  browse
6. What is task bar :

A bar located at the bottom of the screen that was


first introduced with Microsoft Windows 95 and
found in all versions of Windows after that. The
Taskbar allows the user to locate and launch
programs through the Start button, see any program
that is currently open, display the time or date, items
running in the background..
7. What is task manager
Task Manager shows you the programs, processes,
and services that are currently running on your
computer. You can use Task Manager to monitor your
computer’s performance or to close a program that is
not responding.
If you are connected to a network, you can also use
Task Manager to view network status and see how
your network is functioning. If more than one user is
connected to your computer, you can see who is
connected, what they are working on, and you can
send them a message.
8. What is start menu :
The Microsoft Windows Start Menu is the primary
location in Windows to locate your installed
programs and find any files or folders. By default,
the Start menu is located in the bottom left-hand
corner of the screen and is accessed by clicking the
Start button.
9. What is run
Run box enables the user to open a program by
name if found in the Windows directory or start any
file by typing in the full path.

10. What is a file ?


A file is a place where u can save the important
message or documents. The collections of records is
also called as file.
11. How to create a file ?
right click mouse  select the file type and give
name for that..

12. How to protect password for a file


Go to save as  tools  general options 

13. What is a folder :-


The collections of data’s are called as folder. U can
store all the file, documents, games, software, etc,

Right click mouse on desktop  new folder  type
name for that

15. How to change icon for folder ?


Select folder  right click  properties 
customize  change icon

16. How to delete an data’s ?


select the data and press delete option {or} press
delete key on the keyboard

17. How to restore the deleted data’s


Go to recycle bin  select the data  restore

Select the data  shift and delete key

desktop.
