Updated Internship Report Format
1. Title Page
One original title page prepared in the same format as the Sample Internship title is given at the
end. The date on the title page will depend on the semester you will receive your degree. The
title page of the report will include:
a. Name of the organization
b. Name of the internee, Student ID and session
c. Submission date of the internship report
d. Name of the University
e. University logo
2. Scanned copy of the Internship Certificate (provided by the organization)
Attach the scanned copy of your Internship Completion Certificate provided by the organization.
3. Undertaking by the student
4. Certificate from the supervisor
Declaration certificate from the supervisor by he/ she certificate that entitled report is his/ her
guidance and supervision.
5. Dedication and Acknowledgements
You may include a page with a brief note of dedication and/or acknowledgment of your work for
a help received from a particular person.
6. Table of Contents
The contents page should clearly and accurately index the page numbers of the various sections of
the dissertation. Spelling of headings should be accurate.
7. List of Tables
The list of tables includes clearly and accurately index the page number of tables included in the
internship report.
8. List of Figures
The list of figures includes the page numbers of the figure (if any) in the in the internship report.
9. A Brief Executive Summary of the Internship
Executive summary must be included in your internship report. It contains (a) state the problem or
problems that you worked on or page summary of the company/institution; (b) brief description of
your activities; (c) summarize the findings.
10. Main body of the Report
The first page of either an Introduction or a first chapter numbered “1” in Arabic numerals. Main
body of report should be divided into two parts.
1. Part-I: Introduction, Overview of Organization and Organization structure.
2. Part-II: Internees Job
Part-I
10.1 Introduction
Introduction is a concise statement of the internship organization and an outline of the scope,
aim, and objectives of studying the organization, and significance of the work experience.
The purpose of the Introduction is to introduce the reader to the problem/work.
10.2 Overview of the organization
10.2.1 Brief history
10.2.2 Nature of the Organization
10.2.3 Business volume, reward honors & success stories (if any) during last 5 years
10.2.4 Product/service lines
10.2.5 PESTLE analysis
10.2.6 Contribution of organization toward economic development

10.3.1 Organizational Hierarchy chart
10.3.2 Number of employees
10.3.3 Main offices
10.3.4 Introduction of all departments

Part-II
10.4 Internee work
This is the main assessment area of your report. You should present the activities performed
during the internship period.
10.4.1 Brief Introduction of Internee’s office/branch: A brief introduction of the branch
where you did your Internship & starting and ending dates of your internship.
10.4.2 Details of Supervisors: Who is your supervisor mention his/her name and position?
10.4.3 Weekly timetables: A weekly timetable where each row in the table corresponding
to a day in internship period. Each row should record the date, internship activity on
that date. Weekly schedule should explain the work accomplished each day of the
week during the internship period and should contain: Name of the department of
the Organization that the week was spent & Name and signature of the controlling
supervisor for each week
10.4.4 Detailed description of the departments you worked in during your Internship.
10.4.5 Detail description of the operations/activities of the department you worked in.
10.4.6 Detail description of the tasks assigned to you or Detail description of the project
assigned to you to you during your internship.
10.4.7 Summary of learning: (most curial part of report) In this section you should answer
the following questions
10.4.7.1 What skills and qualifications you think that you have gained from the
internship?
10.4.7.2 What kind of responsibilities you have undertaken during the internship
period?
10.4.7.3 How do you think the internship will influence your future career plans?
10.4.7.4 How do you think the internship activities that you carried out are correlated
with your classroom knowledge?
11. Conclusions of the report
In this section you are required to describe the organization according to your
evaluation/assessment in the light of critical and SWOT analysis.
11.1 A summary of key conclusions derived from the internship experience.
11.2 General observations about the sector in which your internship company/institution
operates.
11.3 SOWT Analysis
12. Recommendations
In this section you are required to suggest a solution for all the problems or discrepancies that
are found in the organization that you have pointed out in critical and SWOT analysis.
13. Suggestions for Future Interns (1 page)
Present any suggestions that would help other students who wish to participate in an
internship. (Identification of a firm, definition of duties, interaction with the firm, etc.)
14. References
In this section provide all the references and sources that you have used for data collection for
your internship Report. All references are alphabetical order. Proper referencing is a crucial
aspect of the dissertation and, in some cases, it can make the difference between a pass and a
fail. You are therefore strongly advised to take particular care over this part.
It is recommended to use APA Reference style for formulation of referencing in the report.
15. Appendix and supplementary material:
At the end of your report, attach all of the supportive material you have used for the preparation
of your report, like any brochures, forms, newsletters, interviews, questionnaires charts,
graphs, pictures, computer codes, etc.
Rules for writing the internship report
Do not leave your report to the last minute. This will mean you have to rush and will increase
the chances of making mistakes. Start the report as early as possible!
You will write 10,000-13000 words (± 5%) in report. Part-I not exceed from 4500 words &
part-II contain 5000 words in which summary of learning contain at least 1000 words and
remaining is up to you.
You have to submit soft and hard copy of your internship report on the due date without any
delay. No excuse will be accepted.
Font & Spacing: The report must be typed in following format. Use standard margins (1” to
1.5”), line spacing is 1.5” and font style “Times New Roman” with a font size of 12, for heading
font size is 14 and bold.
Header/footer: Header must contain the name of Internship Organization (font size 10, Italic
and un-bold, Right Align) while footer contain only page number at the right side.
Correction: Make corrections with the greatest care. It is important that you check your
spelling and grammar. Do not just rely on the Microsoft spell and grammar checkers. You must
proof read your work.
Margin: Every page of the internship report must be kept within margins set as follows: A
minimum margin of 1.5 inches (for binding purposes) on the left side of the page; 1 inch at the
right side; 1-1.25 inches at the top and bottom of the page. Any page submitted with less than
the minimum margins will be rejected.
How to number sections:
– Each main section – 1, 2, 3, etc
– First level of sub section – 1.1, 1.2
– Second level of subsection – 1.1.1, 1.1.2
• You can include graphs, pictures, data, drawings, or design calculations in your report.
Cheating or copying in these sections is NOT acceptable and hence the entire internship report can
be completely rejected as per ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY of the university. The university
may also take a legal action according to plagiarism policy as defined by HEC (Higher Education
Commission).
