CDU Preflight & Setup

Start the CDU Preflight Procedure any time after the Preliminary Preflight Procedure.

The captain or first officer may make CDU entries.The other pilot must verify the entries.

Enter data in all the boxed items on the following CDU pages.

Enter data in the dashed items or modify small font items that are listed in this procedure. Enter
or modify other items at pilot´s discretion.

Failure to enter enroute winds can result in flight plan time and fuel burn errors.

IDENT Page
- Verify that the MODEL (1L) is correct

- Verify that the ENG RATING (1R) is correct

- Verify that the navigation data base ACTIVE (2R) date range is current

POS INIT page


- Enter REF AIRPORT (2L), four letter ICAO identifier required

- Push NEXT PAGE button, select GPS position (4L) to scratch pad

- Push PREV PAGE button .enter update position coordinates into SET IRS

POS (4R) from scratchpad

- Verify that the time is correct.

-Select ROUTE (6R)

ROUTE Page
-Enter ORIGIN (1L) from scratchpad

-Enter DEST (1R), four letter ICAO identifier required

-Enter FLIGHT NO (2R) EX. AMX100

-Select DEP/ARR CDU function key, Choose the expected RUNWAY from ATIS and the
DEPARTURE with TRANSITION as necessary

-RTE function Key push,

-On page 2/2 Enter Route

-Select ACTIVATE (6R)

-Push illuminated EXEC key

-Select PERF INIT (6R)

PERF INIT PAGE


-Enter FUEL (2L) from flight plan

-Enter ZERO FUEL WEIGHT (3L) from flight plan

-Enter RESERVES (4L)

-Enter COST INDEX (5L) from flight plan

-Enter CRZALT(1R) from flighplan, enter only first cruise altitude if step climb is

required

-Enter CRZ WIND (2R) from flight plan, enter TOC wind

-Enter TOC OAT (3R) from flight plan, enter TOC temperature.

-Check/Enter TRANS ALT (5R)

-Push illuminated EXEC key

CRUISE WINDS
-Select LEGS page

-Select RTE DATA (6R)

-Load wins manually from flight plan

-Push illuminated EXEC key

CLIMB SPEED
-Select CLIMB page

-Set CLIMB SPEED from flight plan

-Push illuminated EXEC key

DESCENT SPEED
-Select DESCEND page

-Set DESCENT SPEED from flight plan

-Push illuminated EXEC key

AFTER ATC CLEARANCE RECIEVED

-Verify authorized FL or altitude is set in CRZ PAGE (1L)

-Verify DTG and FUEL at destination against flight plan in PROG PAGE

-When required as a reference during SID (Normal or ENG OUT) you must insert

the necessary data in the FIX page

PERF INIT PAGE
-Enter ZFW (3L) from dispatch

-Check GW against dispatch

-Push the illuminated EXEC key

-Select N1 LIMIT (6R)

N1LIMIT PAGE
-Insert ASSUMED/ACTUAL TEMPERATURE and THRUST RATING

-Select TAKEOFF (6R)

TAKEOFF PAGE
-Select T/O page 2/2

-Set ACCEL HT (4L) from OPT

-Set THR REDUCTION (5R) 800 ft.

-Set EO ACCEL HT (4R) from OPT

-Select PREV PAGE 1/2

-Enter FLAPS (1L) from OPT

-Enter CG (3L) from OPT

-Enter V1 (1R), VR (2R), V2 (3R) from OPT
