WIRELESS MOUSE:

The Mouse without wire or cord is called wireless mouse or cordless mouse. Most wireless
mice use radiofrequency (RF) technology to communicate information to your computer.
Since RF devices require two main components: a transmitter and a receiver, thats why
wireless mouse also requires it.

Wired Mouse
The mouse having wire is known as wired mouse.

Types of wired mouse

1) Mechanical: This is a type of computer mouse that has a rubber or metal ball on its
underside and it can roll in every direction. Sensors within the mouse, which are
mechanical, detect the direction in which the ball is moving and moves the pointer on the
screen in the same direction. A mouse pad should be used under the mouse to run on.

2) Optical: This type uses a laser for detecting the mouse's movement. You don't need a
mouse pad but you can use one made for optical mice. Optical mice do not have any
mechanical moving parts. This type responds more quickly and precisely than the
mechanical and opto-mechanical mice and now that they have been around awhile the
price is pretty comparable.
Track ball

A trackball can be used as an alternative to a mouse. This device has buttons similar to
those on mouse. It has large rotating ball on the top. The body of the trackball is not moved.
The ball is rolled with finger. The position of the cursor on the screen is controlled by
rotating the ball.

Touchpad

A touchpad is a small flat surface over which the user moves his finger. The movement of
finger moves the cursor on the screen. It is also known as trackpad. A touchpad also has
one or more buttons near it. These buttons work like mouse buttons.

Joystick

A joystick consists of a base and a stick.A stick can be moved in any direction to move an
object around the computer screen. A joystick can perform a similar function to a mouse
or trackball. It Is often considered less comfortable and efficient.

Touch Screen Is a touch sensitive display. User interact with computer by touching areas
of screen.

Pointing Stick: Is a pressure sensitive device. It is similar to a pencil eraser and exist
between keys on keyboard. The pointer on screen moves when the user pushes the pointing
stick.
