A FEASIBILITY STUDY ON STYLES OF MJ BOUTIQUE

AT TIBAL OG STO. TOMAS DAVAO DEL NORTE

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Along with the increasing development of clothing market and our fashion industry,
more and more clothing stores lay great emphasize on the designs and displays in their
clothing store. In our modern time, clothing store is not only a simple place to sell goods
but also a place to present the personality and characteristic of our clothing brand. In
other words, clothing store has been a place for customers to enjoy beauty and spiritual
experience when they purchasing and browsing their clothes.

In this sense, the purpose of the designs and displays in clothing store is just to appeal
customers to enter clothing store, enjoying clothes, choosing clothes and at last buying
clothes. Therefore, the designs and displays in clothing store has been an important
mark for the clothing brand and clothing industry.

Nowadays, people are conscious on what they wear, including the designs and styles of
the clothes especially the teens. Clothing is one of the basic necessities of the people,
protection against the cold breeze of air and from the hot burst of the sun, and to
socialize. Thus, clothing is one of the leading demands all around the world.

The US market is trend and quality-driven while in the Philippines it is couture-driven, very
intricate, and focused on the client’s ideas. Clothes express the personality of its bearer,
and from this new era where fashion leads among people it’s a great opportunity to
establish a business that can offer the demand of the community from clothes.

In this feasibility study, the study's goal is to determine the marketing plan, development
plan, organization and management plan, and financial plan of MJ Styles Boutique in a
specific area, as well as the project's cost and benefits, profitability, and, ultimately,
viability.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Innovation takes place at the intersection of fashion and technology, representing a


powerful way to connect consumers to brands while providing distinct shopping and
wearing experiences. New technologies and textile innovations are not only changing
how the fashion industry functions, but also how its products interact with the
environment and consumers.

The proposed business name is “Styles of MJ Boutique”. A name that base on ideas of
the owner as she makes and innovate a kind of different clothes that relate on this
generation. A kind of boutique in unique process inside of it. The innovation in terms of
today’s generation that classified into different wear in clothes that fashionable wherein.

The business owned by Ms. Mary Joy Banguis, a sole proprietorship that deals only in 1
owner. The business from thrifty clothes that innovates. The product or the clothes is
from ukay ukay and we are selecting clothes in just a cheap price to innovate into trendy
clothes. The operation on this business would be used in Multifunctional Electric
Household Sewing Machine.

This clothing business is the focus of this feasibility study. The team comes up to this idea
to compete in the demand of modern day’s consumers.

IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY

The study gives the customers a product that able to deal with them that is affordable
than the same products in other stores and market area. Hence, this section will provide a
brief description on the various significances of the study given.

To the Customers- the researchers believed that the customers will benefit because
the study was made for them and the researcher had priced the product at a reasonable
price. They will benefit by buying the product and they will see that it can be used for a
long time.

To the researchers- in doing this study, the researchers have acquired new skills and
knowledge that they can use in their profession. This paper can enlighten their thinking
with regards to the reality of life especially as we walk towards the path of the business
world.

Furthermore, this feasibility study will also serve as guide and a stepping stone to the
business minded that can help by enhancing their capabilities to innovate more
products and services that can lead the success in the future in a way to put up their
own ideas on business.

METHODOLOGY

Questionnaires were distributed through online platform specifically, via Google form to
conduct the survey. The proponents cannot conduct a face to face survey and interview
to gather data due to the pandemic. Hence, the target market of the business which is
the people in Santo Tomas Davao del Norte specifically those young and even adult
that also relate the trendy clothes were tapped through messenger and was asked
politely to join the said survey. The link of the Google form was sent after their approval.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The scope of this feasibility study focuses on the four (4) aspects in the business
industry: The Marketing, Production, Organizational and Financial Aspect. The data
used are limited to the gathered information provided by the respective respondents.
