What’s new

My favorite bedtime story is about an old Toymaker named Geppetto that carved a puppet in
the shape of a boy a named it Pinocchio. When Geppetto finally finished the beautiful puppet boy. He
made him sit on a chair and started to clean up. He heard a strange voice; he saw the puppet
dancing and talking. Geppetto and Pinocchio started to have happy times together. When it was time
for Pinocchio to go to school but Geppetto didn't have money to buy Pinocchio his school stationery.
So, he sold this old coat and gave the money to Pinocchio. dancing and talking. Pinocchio is naughty
and barely spoke the truth. As soon as he lied, his nose grows comically long.

What’s More

Activity 1: Give Me the Gist

1. The word “reality” in a television show is often supposed to occur naturally rather than being
scripted. Many reality shows take place in surreal settings film. Also, some individual involved in the
production of “reality” television is urged to act out storylines premeditated by producers. With
accusations like this, many people take reality TV an equal to a sitcom.

2. The platypus is the only mammal that uses electroreception. Males carry a venom cocktail in their
ankle spurs that paralyzes victims with excruciating pain. It uses its bill to sense the electricity
produced by the muscular movement of its prey. It is also the only mammal that lays eggs instead of
giving birth to live young. Platypus is one of the few venomous mammals.

What I Have Learned

I have learned that a summary is simply stating the essential ideas together in fewer words it is simply
condensing the most interesting points into a single sentence. You may use graphic organizers,
outline, or infographics to help you identify key supporting information in the original paragraph. If you
come across any words in the summary that you think that are too confusing, you may alter them with
your own words. Also, you can paraphrase while keeping the original text’s ideas in mind. There are 5
effective and easy techniques for summarizing various academic texts that we can use:

 Technique 1: Somebody Wanted But So Then

 Technique 2: SAAC Method
 Technique 3: 5 W’s, 1 H
 Technique 4: First, Then, Finally

 Technique 5: Give Me the Gist

What I Can Do

Activity 1

Write the summary using the SAAC technique.

State: A Narrative Essay On The Effects Of The Enhanced Community-Quarantine

Assign: There is no author stated in the essay.

Action: Tells, informs and explains

Complete: As the Philippines faced the coronavirus pandemic.

Write the summary using the First, Then, Finally technique.

Countermeasures were implemented in the Philippines in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As

a result, President Duterte puts Luzon under enhanced community quarantine. Then, the spread of
the virus brought out the worst traits of Filipino people. Hoarding important supplies, panic buying,
and others. Inconsistences and incompetence of politicians and public servants were highlighted,
they are not prepared to handle the sudden spread of the virus. Finally, online outcries caused many
politicians to open their eyes and ears, resulting in the fulfillment and distribution of people’s needs.
The government-assisted and provided relief to thousands of people.

Hope remains, the Filipino people are resilient and brave. In light of this global health crisis, they help
each other to combat the pandemic.

Assessment

Main Point: The similarities and differences between crime and punishment, as well as how they
complement or conflict.

Supporting Details: The relationship and proportionality of crime and punishment have been
discussed by a numerous of philosophers. When they complement each other, it is fine, but when
they are skewed, it caused negative consequences. The death penalty is the most extreme and likely
to be ineffective, and unfair form of punishment for any crime

Summary: Crime and punishment are inextricably linked. They have been a big topic in scientific
studies, literary works, and even philosophical reflections on their relationship have all focused on
them. It's great when they complement each other, but it's not so great when they're distorted. The
death penalty is the most severe, inefficient, and unfair form of punishment available for any crime.
It's also a form of murder, which is against the moral code of humanity. Justice would not be served if
the jury is biased against the convicts.
