REACTION PAPER

When I first started studying in CvSU, during my first year as a Medical Technology, we have a
CVSU 101 subject, wherein, the focus of the subject is to teach is the mission, vision, and core values of
the CvSU. At first, I had no idea why we need to have a subject that focuses on those. But as our instructor
explained to us the meaning and importance of the CvSU’s mission, vision, and core values, I get to
understand why we need to have knowledge about it. I realized that the institution is not just teaching us
the skills and knowledge that we need to possess, but also the moral values and attitudes that we need
to have for us to succeed in our chosen fields.

As days pass by, I gave more thought to these, as a Medical student, it is very important for me to
shape not just my skills, but also my moral values. Because in the future, I will be touching the lives of
different people. And with that, I think the mission, vision and core values that is being taught by the
university would be of big contribution on my future career. Also, as a student, I believe that the attitude
that we possess is just as important as the knowledge and skills that we should have, because in order for
us to possess those skills and knowledge, we must first be disciplined and have the right attitude. We can
be the most intelligent, knowledgeable and skillful person in the world, but we can never be a globally
competitive student without being morally upright.
