Development
Move on to the technique circuit set out in the second illustration. Split your players evenly
between the stations and run each station for 4 minutes.
1. Dribble through the cones without collision.
2. Run with the ball at speed from one side to the other.
3. Turn at the furthest gate, then turn again at the next gate and continue dribbling to the
opposite side from which you started.
4. Use a skill (feint or stopover for example) at the mannequin. Now return to the initial 1v1
continuous game and look for improvement in the players’ ability to create space for a
shot.
Develop technique in this circuit before returning to the initial session.
Game situation
Play a normal game and encourage players to beat the defender in 1v1 situations. Are they
direct or do they slow the game down? Is there an end product once they have beaten the
defender?
