Disadvantages of Cloud Computing Platforms

Cloud computing platforms can potentially introduce security risks and limit user control over infrastructure. Common security risks include data loss, theft, or leakage. Users may also have less flexibility and control over backend infrastructure compared to on-premise systems. Reliance on internet connectivity can also introduce disadvantages if the connection is unstable or unavailable. Downtime from technical issues that impact cloud provider systems is another potential disadvantage that users must plan for.

Cloud security and data
Disadvantage of

Most cloud service providers implement relevant security standards and industry
certifications to ensure that their cloud environment remains safe. However, storing data
and business-critical files in virtual data centres can potentially open you up to risks.

Common risks are:

 data loss or theft

 data leakage
 account or service hijacking
 insecure interfaces and APIs
 denial of service attacks
 technology vulnerabilities, especially on shared environments
The levels of security achieved and maintained by different cloud providers can vary. You
should choose your provider carefully, and make sure that the provider is stable, reliable,
reputable and offering reasonable terms and conditions of service.

4). Limited control and flexibility

Since the cloud infrastructure is entirely owned, managed, and monitored
by the service provider, it transfers minimal control over to the customer.
To varying degrees (depending on the particular service), cloud users may
find they have less control over the function and execution of services
within a cloud-hosted infrastructure. A cloud provider’s end-user license
agreement (EULA) and management policies might impose limits on what
customers can do with their deployments. Customers retain control of their
applications, data, and services, but may not have the same level of control
over their backend infrastructure.

. Depends on internet connection

The internet is the only way to cloud computing. When there is

no internet connection in your place, or the internet path to the
cloud provider is in trouble, automatically access to your cloud
computing machine will be disconnected. Now this is where the
biggest obstacle is happening in developing countries and
remote areas that do not have good internet access. And the
Disadvantage of

weakness of public cloud is where everyone accesses the same

server and server and will increase the risk of attack, and down
the server.

Cloud downtime
Downtime is often cited as one of the biggest disadvantage of cloud computing .The cloud,
like any other IT set up, can experience technical problems such as reboots, network
outages and downtime. These events can incapacitate business operations and processes,
and can be damaging to business.

You should plan for downtime to try to minimise the impact and the amount of such
occurrences and ensure the maximum level of service availability for your customers and
staff.
