ECU Access and Code Action Required

This document provides instructions for accessing diagnostic mode on two models of the DigiDash SR50 motorcycle: 1) For 2005-present models, enter code 45256 in the diagnostics section to view and clear error codes. 2) For 1999-2004 pre-DigiDash models, hold the throttle fully open while turning the key on to enter diagnostic mode. Error codes will be indicated by blinking of the injection check light in sets with 4 second delays between. Running diagnostics 4 times clears the codes. 3) Tables then list all possible ECU error codes, their corresponding faults, and recommended actions for resolving issues.

How to access Diagnostic Mode (pre and post Factory model SR50)

_____________________________________________________________

To access ECU codes on DigiDash model SR50 (2005 to present) go to the Diagnostics
section of the Dash and when prompted, enter the code 45256. From there, you will be
able to read as well as clear out any set code(s).
______________________________________________________________________

To access the ECU codes on the Pre-DigiDash model SR50 (1999 to 2004), turn throttle
to full open while engine is off (“Kill Switch” off). While holding throttle, turn the key
on. Then the CHECK INJECTION light turns on, and after it goes off let go throttle. If
everything was done right you are now in “Diagnostic Mode”

After that, if there are any errors stored in the ECU, the Injection Check Light will start
to blink. Count the number blinks, and then check in the ECU Error Code table (below)
what each set of blinks means (e.g. If it blinks 10 times, then that is ECU Code 10, an
error with the oil pump).

There is approximately a 4 sec delay between each error blink. So you may get 8 flashes,
then a pause, then 3 flashes, then a pause, then 20, etc. After you run the diagnostic error
codes 4 times, it resets or clears the code(s) (it’s taken into consideration that you “fixed”
the error(s)) from the ECU. If there is any other malfunctions after clearing them out, the
injection light will blink again but other error(s) will be reported. Intermittent errors can
appear and re-appear at any time… If there are no blinks, then the ECU has been cleared!

Be warned that it is not uncommon to have a LOT of ECU error(s) if the Diagnostic
Mode hasn’t been access in a long time, especially if the Warning Light has been “on” for
a long time. If that is the case, knowing what “current” error/issue you are dealing with
may be hard to determine.
