This period initially began during the reign of Caliph Harun al-Rashid (786 to 809
A.D.),and Muslims were able to establish one of the largest empires in history
("Islamic Golden Age | Islamic History"). During the time, caliphs (Islamic
successors and leaders) established the hub of the Abbasid caliphate (the third
Islamic caliphate which succeeded Prophet Muhammed (S.A) in Baghdad, Iraq
("The Golden Age Of Islam"). Within Baghdad, al-Rashid established the House of
Wisdom; an intellectual center and public academy ("House Of Wisdom") which
increased in use during the reign of al-Rashid’s son, Al-Ma’mun. This is due to Al-
Ma’mun’s persistent effort in recruiting scholars of all faiths and backgrounds,
greatly encouraging intellectual pursuit ("The Golden Age Of Islam").
Medieval Islamic World:
Science in the medieval Islamic world was the science developed and practiced
during the Islamic Golden Age under the Umayyads of Córdoba, the Abbadids of
Seville, the Samanids, the Ziyarids, the Buyids in Persia, the Abbasid Caliphate and
beyond, spanning the period roughly between 786 and 1258. Islamic scientific
achievements encompassed a wide range of subject areas,
especially astronomy, mathematics, and medicine. Other subjects of scientific
inquiry included alchemy and chemistry, botany and agronomy, geography and

 What is reptiles adaptations?
 What is changing traits of reptiles?
PRESENTATION 1. Share an amazing fact with students:
At one time, giraffes came in a variety of neck lengths. Some giraffes had much
shorter necks than modern giraffes.
Ask students to brainstorm why short-necked giraffes did not survive. Then offer
an explanation of natural selection: The giraffes with shorter necks couldn’t
compete with long-necked giraffes. Explain that the giraffes were not in an actual
contest that they could win by changing their physical characteristics or behavior;
they were unknowing participants in a competition that takes place every day in
nature: Food supplies are limited so animals must compete for them with other
species and like animals. Unlike the giraffes with long necks, short-necked giraffes
couldn’t reach leaves and twigs up high as well as the ones closer to the ground.
Because many animals could eat the low-lying vegetation, fewer short necked
giraffes got enough to eat. Over generations, giraffes with longer necks grew
stronger and healthier. The long-necked giraffes had more and more babies that,
like their parents, inherited long necks and were better able to survive when food
was scarce; no other animal could reach the high leaves as well as they could.
Over time, more and more short-necked giraffes died before they could
reproduce more short-necked babies.
Eventually, only long-necked giraffes were born. This process of change, called
“natural selection,” happens in all species.
2. Explain that a giraffe’s long neck is an adaptation, a trait that helps it fit in and
survive in its environment. Tell students that sometimes different species within
the same family have very different adaptations that depend on location.
Review To know the understanding of students, teacher will ask questions like
 What is natural selection?
 Why short neck giraffe is different from long neck giraffe?

Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 What is set?
 What is union and intersection in term of sets?
PRESENTATION The union of two sets A and B is the set of elements which are in A, in B,
or in both A and B.
For example, if A = {1, 3, 5, 7} and B = {1, 2, 4, 6, 7} then A ∪ B = {1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7}. A more elaborate example (involving two infinite sets) is:
A = {x is an even integer larger than 1}
B = {x is an odd integer larger than 1}
AUB={2,3,4,5,6......}
As another example, the number 9 is not contained in the union of the
set of prime numbers {2, 3, 5, 7, 11, ...} and the set of even numbers {2,
4, 6, 8, 10, ...}, because 9 is neither prime nor even.
Sets cannot have duplicate elements,[3][4] so the union of the sets {1, 2,
3} and {2, 3, 4} is {1, 2, 3, 4}. Multiple occurrences of identical elements
have no effect on the cardinality of a set or its contents.
Review To know the understanding of students, teacher will ask questions like
 What is the method to finding union of sets?
 Define union of two or more sets?
Home work Students will solve five questions of union from textbook.

 To calculate the difference of two sets
Specific objectives The students will be able to
 Reorganize the sets
 Find the difference between two sets
Teaching aids Text book, white board, marker, note book pencil, charts etc.
Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 What is set?
 Find the difference of two sets?
PRESENTATION Difference of two sets:
The difference of two sets, written A - B is the set of all elements of A that are not
elements of B. The difference operation, along with union and intersection, is an
important and fundamental set theory operation.
Description of the Difference
The subtraction of one number from another can be thought of in many different
ways. One model to help with understanding this concept is called the takeaway
model of subtraction. In this, the problem 5 - 2 = 3 would be demonstrated by
starting with five objects, removing two of them and counting that there were
three remaining. In a similar way that we find the difference between two
numbers, we can find the difference of two sets.
An Example
We will look at an example of the set difference. To see how the difference of
two sets forms a new set, let's consider the sets A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} and B = {3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8}. To find the difference A - B of these two sets, we begin by writing all of
the elements of A, and then take away every element of A that is also an element
of B. Since A shares the elements 3, 4 and 5 with B, this gives us the set difference
A - B = {1, 2}.
Order Is Important
Just as the differences 4 - 7 and 7 - 4 give us different answers, we need to be
careful about the order in which we compute the set difference. To use a
technical term from mathematics, we would say that the set operation of
difference is not commutative. What this means is that in general we cannot
change the order of the difference of two sets and expect the same result. We
can more precisely state that for all sets A and B, A - B is not equal to B - A.
To see this, refer back to the example above. We calculated that for the sets A =
{1, 2, 3, 4, 5} and B = {3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8}, the difference A - B = {1, 2 }. To compare this
to B - A, we begin with the elements of B, which are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and then
remove the 3, the 4 and the 5 because these are in common with A. The result is
B - A = {6, 7, 8 }. This example clearly shows us that A - B is not equal to B - A.
Review To know the understanding of students, teacher will ask questions like
 How to organize the set?
 What is mean by difference of two sets?
 How can we find the difference of two sets?
Home work Students will write five questions of difference of two sets from book and solve
them on notebooks.

 To add and subtract fractions
 To multiply and divide fractions
Teaching aids Text book, white board, marker, note book pencil, charts etc.
Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 What is denominator?
 What is numerator?
PRESENTATION Fractions:
Fractions are numbers that represent a part of the whole. When an object or a
group of objects is divided into equal parts, then each individual part is a fraction.
A fraction is usually written as 1/2 or 5/12 or 7/18 and so on.
Kinds of fractions:
The six kinds of fractions are, proper fractions, improper fractions, mixed
fractions, like fractions, unlike fractions and equivalent fractions.
Simplify Fractions:
You can simplify a fraction if the numerator (top number) and denominator
(bottom number) can both be divided by the same number. Six twelfths can be
simplified to one half, or 1 over 2 because both numbers are divisible by 6. 6 goes
into 6 once and 6 goes into 12 twice.
Example:
1/4 + 1/4
Step 1. The bottom numbers (the denominators) are already the same. Go
straight to step 2.
Step 2. Add the top numbers and put the answer over the same denominator:
1/4 + 1/4 = 1 + 1/4 = 2/4
Step 3. Simplify the fraction:
2/4 = 1/2

Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 When would you change a simple present tense verb from its base form?
 What is the difference between simple present tense verbs and present
participle tense verbs?
PRESENTATION How To Teach The Present Simple Tense
Step 1: Action Verbs
To begin, elicit some common action verbs from your students. To do this act out
some actions and ask your students to guess what it is. For example, you could
pick up a book and pretend to read and your students will likely guess the action
verb ‘read’. Do the same with other verbs such as write, eat, run, etc, and write
them on the board.
Step 2: First Person Singular Form
Next, in front of each verb you have written on the board write ‘I’ and practice
saying each of these verbs together with ‘I’. For example, “I read. I write. I eat. I
run.”, etc.
Step 3: Second Person Singular.
Once students have grasped how to form the present simple tense in the first
person singular form it is quite easy to then make the present simple tense in the
second person singular form.
Step 4: Third Person Singular
Now that students have had plenty of practice making present simple tense
sentences it is time to introduce the third person singular form. Explain to
students that when talking about someone (singular) in the third person, the verb
changes.
Step 5: Plural Forms
Next, teach students the present simple tense with plural forms. Explain to
students that when using the plural form, the verb does not change. Then,
demonstrate some examples and practice.

 Know the uses of barcode
Teaching aids Text book, white board, marker, note book pencil, charts etc.
Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 What is barcode reader?
 How barcode works?
PRESENTATION Barcode reader:
A barcode reader, also called a price scanner or point-of-sale ( POS ) scanner, is a
hand-held or stationary input device used to capture and read information
contained in a bar code . A barcode reader consists of a scanner , a decoder
(either built-in or external), and a cable used to connect the reader with a
computer. Because a barcode reader merely captures and translates the barcode
into numbers and/or letters, the data must be sent to a computer so that a
software application can make sense of the data. Barcode scanners can be
connected to a computer through a serial port , keyboard port , or an interface
device called a wedge . A barcode reader works by directing a beam of light
across the bar code and measuring the amount of light that is reflected back. (The
dark bars on a barcode reflect less light than the white spaces between them.)
The scanner converts the light energy into electrical energy, which is then
converted into data by the decoder and forwarded to a computer.
Kinds of barcode reader:
There are five basic kinds of barcode readers -- pen wands, slot scanners, Charge-
Couple Device ( CCD ) scanners, image scanners, and laser scanners.

Think about what happens when Mum or Dad tells you that dinner is ready – you
can hear them asking you to wash your hands, feel the water and soap against
your skin, smell what’s cooking, see your chair at the table and taste the food on
your plate. You can do all of that thanks to your senses!

Senses allow us to observe and understand the world around us. There are five
main ways we can do this: through sight (with our eyes), touch (with our fingers),
smell (with our nose), taste (with our tongue) and hearing (with our ears).

facts of senses:
There are five senses – sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing.
 Our senses help us to understand what’s happening around us.
 Our senses send messages through receptor cells to our brain, using our
nervous system to deliver that message.
 There are four kinds of taste receptors on the tongue – bitter, sweet, salt
and sour.
 Some parts of the skin are more sensitive than others – this is because
they have more receptor cells.
 We taste food using both our sense of taste and smell.
 It’s fun to experiment with your senses – for example, make a chart of
what foods taste bitter, sweet, salty and sour.
 If you cup your hand around your ear, you’ll hear more things – this is
because you’re helping your ear gather more sounds.
 Not everyone is able to use all five of their senses. If someone cannot
see, they are blind; if someone cannot hear, they are deaf.
 We can use all five of our senses at the same time without even realising
it!
Review To know the understanding of students, teacher will ask questions like

 Know about the concept of angles
Specific objectives The students will be able to
 Construct different types of triangles
 Differentiate between two triangles
 Recall and recognize triangles
Teaching aids Text book, white board, marker, note book pencil, charts etc.
Previous knowledge To check the previous knowledge teacher will ask questions like
 What is triangle?
 How can we denote triangle?
 What are similar triangles?
PRESENTATION Definition of Triangle:
A triangle is a 3-sided polygon sometimes (but not very commonly) called the
trigon. Every triangle has three sides and three angles, some of which may be the
same. The study of triangles is sometimes known as triangle geometry, and is a
rich area of geometry filled with beautiful results and unexpected connections
Types of Triangle:
There are basically six different types of triangles with respect to the length and
measure of the lines and angles of a triangle, respectively. To recall, a triangle is a
specific type of polygon having only three sides and three angles. Based on these
specifications and design, the properties of triangles are defined for all its
different types.
As the name suggests, a “triangle” is a three-sided polygon having three angles.
The sum of all interior angles of a triangle will always add up to 180 degrees. This
is called the angle sum property of triangle. Also, a triangle has many properties.
Let us discuss in detail about the triangle types.
Six Types of Triangles
Triangles can be broadly classified into two types, which are:
Triangles based on the lengths of their sides
Triangles based on their interior angles
These two triangle types are explained here along with their further
classifications.
Based on their Sides
 Isosceles Triangle
 Equilateral Triangle
 Scalene Triangle
Based on their Angles
