Classroom Management Plan of Grade VI-A

Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused,
attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class. When classroom-management strategies are executed effectively, teachers
minimize the behaviors that impede learning for both individual students and groups of students, while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or
enhance learning. Generally speaking, effective teachers tend to display strong classroom-management skills, while the hallmark of the
inexperienced or less effective teacher is a disorderly classroom filled with students who are not working or paying attention.

I believe that classroom management is the key component to in any educational setting. I believe that if pupils are in safe environment
and conducive for learning, then learning can takes place. This does not necessarily mean punishing behavior problems but rather a
combination of setting the tone in a class, preventing and managing behavioral problems. With interesting and engaging curriculum and
effectively including all pupils in the classroom so that their needs are met. Having the right environment for all pupils to learn is my major goal
of implementing good classroom management, without it the pupils would not be able to learn.

Philosophical Statement
In order for my classroom management plan to be effective it needs to align with my beliefs and values. Therefore, I have chosen the
theories and practices that reflect my personal teaching style. I believe that a classroom management plan should aid in building a community
of learners. Also, I feel that the students should be taught self-discipline so that they can use the skills they learn in the classroom outside of
school as well.
As teachers, I believe it is our responsibility to help our students become good citizens in addition to teaching them the academic areas.
There are ten (10) beliefs and practices that serve as the foundation on which I am building my classroom management plan. 1. I believe that
the teacher and students should work cooperatively together in order to create a safe and inviting classroom. 2. I believe in creating a code of
conduct cooperatively as a class. 3. I believe that class meetings are an effective way for the teacher and students to become partners in the
learning process. 4. I believe that students should be given the opportunity to make their own decisions. 5. I believe in using “I-messages” to
communicate my feelings to the students. 6. I believe that teachers should encourage their students. 7. I believe in creating a sense of
community in my classroom. 8. I believe that the teacher should teach “life skills” to the students so that they can be successful not only in the
classroom, but in life as well. 9. I believe that a teacher should handle behavior problems privately. 10. I believe that students should be taught
procedures in order to maximize their learning and show them responsibility. In order for a classroom to run smoothly, there needs to be
expectations and strategies in place that will guide student behavior. I want to create a community of learners in my classroom where the
students feel free to share their input because they know everyone will respect their opinion.
Therefore, my students will be involved in the process of determining classroom rules and expectations. In a classroom meeting, I will introduce
the code of conduct for the classroom: respect yourself, respect others, and respect property. The students will discuss examples of how they
should act for each one. This will allow the students to make personal connections to the code of conduct. The code of conduct is brief so that
the students could easily remember it.
The code of conduct will be placed in a visible spot in the classroom to remind the students of what is expected of them. These will be reinforced
by the teacher modeling them for the students. Also, the class will determine consequences for each aspect of the code of conduct. If the code
of conduct is not followed the teacher will implement the consequence that was agreed upon. In order to prevent student misbehavior, the
teacher needs to consider the curriculum and instruction he/ she is implementing.
The curriculum and instruction needs to engage the students,I plan to do this in a variety of ways.
First, I will make sure that my lesson plans include hands-on activities. My lesson plans will based on inquiry and discovery. For example, if I am
teaching social studies I will not just have them open up their text book and start reading.
I may use the social studies text book as one resource, but I will incorporate other sources into my teaching. As I am planning my lesson plans,
I will keep in mind my students’ individual needs. I will use assessment to drive my instruction, and make changes as needed to my lessons.
As I am developing my classroom management plan, I will need to include preventive, supportive, and corrective measures. The preventive
measures such as engaging lesson plans and well taught procedures need to be in place. However, even with preventive measures in place
problems will still occur. This is when the supportive measures come into place and the teacher will need to assist the students. After the support
has been given, the teacher and student can look into corrective measures to stop the misbehavior from reoccurring. I feel that I have a very
patient and calm attitude in my class. I want my pupils to treat everyone as a sister and a brother and I am their mother, or a big/older sister,
through this, they will not hesitate in imparting their real experiences in our discussions, relate their own ideas based on their knowledge and
experiences during discussions and asking questions that will lead them into a new knowledge.
I want to motivate pupils to learn a new things and keep their interest in discovering, exploring new skills within their selves. I want to
involve my pupils in making rules and policy of our classroom.
Classroom Rules Procedures and Routines( applicable during face to face classes)

The following are our classroom rules:

1. Avoid absences. Be prompt in going to school;

2. Wear a clean and decent dress;
3. Clean the assigned area every day;
4. Observe cleanliness and orderliness inside the classroom;
5. Keep your hands and feet with yourself;
6. Bring what you need with you;
7. Use manners;
8. Follow directions; and
9. Be kind to others.

Beginning of the Day

At the beginning of the day, I will be at the door to greet my pupils as they enter the classroom so they feel welcome. In order for my
beginning of the day routine be effective, I will need to give my pupils explicit instruction and model what is expected of them. I will remind the
pupils of my expectations as necessary.

Classroom Jobs

In this procedure, the pupils will be given an opportunity to take a job if they choose. It is important in the classroom management
because it helps the pupils to develop responsibility. It helps in creating a classroom community by getting pupils involved in the classroom.
Group I- Plants. Pupils in this group will be expected to water the plants, morning and afternoon before going home.

Group II- Electrician. Pupils will need to turn certain lights, electric fan and Projector on in the morning and off at the end of the day.

Group III- Teacher’s Assistant. This pupils will do what the teacher ask of him/her such as erasing the blackboard and will do the task
of arranging reading materials in the reading corner.

Group IV- Line Leader. This pupils will expected to lead the line and set an example for the others pupils on how to act in the hallway,
before, during and after flag ceremony.

Group V- Name Caller. This pupil will be given a list of pupil’s names. Every morning before the class starts, he/she will be going to call
the names of his/her classmates and the same thing before the class starts in the afternoon.

I will go over the expectations for working in a group with the class. Also, I will monitor the pupils as they are working in groups.

Communication with Parents

Every 3rd week of the month of November, I start Teacher-Parent Conference for the 1st Quarte through group chat. This is when I tell
the pupil’s parents about what is going on in the classroom, and keeps them informed about the classroom and school rules and expectations. It
is important to classroom management that I as a teacher keeps open communication with the pupil’s parents. Also, it will help for parent
teacher conferences if the parents already know what has been happening at school. During my 1st Quarter Teacher-Parent Conference, I will
give an input or a topic to be delivered for the learning of the parents, example discussion about the latest Deped/Regional/Division Order,
Memorandum or Programs or either an input about good parenting, positive discipline and how to make the family happy. Through this, the time
that the parents spent with me in our conferences has learning to gain. And, a week after the quarterly examination, there will be a teacher-
parent conference again. This time, the progress of every pupils was discussed, the problems that the teacher encountered in the classroom
with the pupils was given important and the parents suggested the best thing to do for the solution of the problem. Lastly, distribution of the
progress report card of the pupils to their parent.

In order for a classroom to run smoothly, there needs to be expectations and strategies in place that will guide pupil behavior. I want to create a
community of learners in my classroom where the pupils feel free to share their input because they know everyone will respect their opinion.

Therefore, my pupils will be involved in the process of determining classroom rules and expectations. In a classroom meeting, I will introduce the
code of conduct for the classroom: respect yourself, respect others and respect property. The pupils will discuss examples of how they should
act for each one. This will allow the pupils to make personal connections to the code of conduct. The code of conduct is brief so that it is easy to
remember. The code of conduct will be placed in a visible spot in the classroom to remind the pupils of what is expected of them.

In order to prevent pupil’s misbehavior, I will need to consider the curriculum and instruction that I am implementing. The curriculum and
instruction needs to engage the pupils, I plan to do this variety of ways.

Reflection about Classroom Management Plan
Classroom management is crucial for every teacher to have in a successful learning environment. I believe that pupils
need to be controlled and disciplined; pupils at this age need to be guided in the right path. They are capable of self-
discipline but need to be shown what the rules of the classroom are and what is the expectation of the teacher. I believe
that pupils are basically good but that the environment around them influences them tremendously. If they maintain busy
with instruction then they will not have time to be disruptive and they need to be guided to behave appropriately.Pupils
should feel that they are in a safe, nurturing and supporting environment where they can learn. The rules in the classroom
should implicate. Respecting one another will be an expectation in my classroom and there will be no tolerance for being
disrespectful. I view pupils as equals because they are at school to gain an education and just like I expect them to listen
and respect me I will do the same for then They will learn better and listen if I demonstrate that I care for their best interest
in learning.I do not believe that establishing a democratic classroom and giving pupils responsibility is letting them take over
the classroom because pupils will have their own opinion, they are all unique individuals who not only learn differently but
have a different way of thinking and allowing them to have a say in their own learning is not letting them control the
classroom. It is the teacher's responsibility to set rules and expectations in the classroom and control students who are
repeating bad. Also taking away their free time because they were very talkative during the day in class. Pupils will learn by
example and this will modify their behavior. Positive and negative consequences will vary behavior but creating an
intervention plan with bad students will help them understand and slowly monitor progress. The ultimate goal of my
classroom management is not to manage control of the class but to ensure that everyone meets my expectations in order
for them to learn in an effective and supportive environment but to teach pupils self-discipline and to understand the rules
and consequences of my classroom by acting accordingly.

Essay about Professional Development Plan

Higher order thinking skills go beyond basic observation of facts and memorization. They are what we are talking about when we want our pupils to be
evaluative, creative and innovative. When most people think of critical thinking, they think that their words (or the words of others) are supposed to get
criticized" and torn apart in argument, when in fact all it means is that they are criteria-based. These criteria require that we distinguish fact from fiction;
synthesize and evaluate information, and clearly communicate, solve problems and discover truths.

As educators we should always attend training/workshop seminars related to these competencies in order to develop/uplift our knowledge about this
skills. The importance of critical thinking skills has become an essential in today's world. Pupils need to learn to develop better critical thinking skills.It is
almost too easy these days to go on the internet and find instant answers to questions. The result is that pupils are falling behind in their ability to ask the
correct questions and analyze those answers.

Teaching strategies are methods and techniques that a teacher will use to support their pupils or students through the learning process; a teacher will
choose the teaching strategy most suitable to the topic being studied, the level of expertise of the learner, and the stage in their learning journey. As a teacher
may use many different teaching strategies with different end goals. The most effective teaching strategies are those proven to work over large scale trials.
Different strategies and techniques help pupils begin to understand the process of learning. Strategies helps pupils to bypass their areas of weakness and to
perform at the level at which they are capable. Strategies promotes flexible thinking and teach pupils the importance of shifting their approaches to different
tasks.

Technology ushers in fundamental structural changes that can be integral to achieving significant improvements in productivity. Used to support both
teaching and learning, technology infuses classrooms with digital learning tools, such as computers and handheld devices; expands course offerings,
experiences, and learning materials; supports learning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; builds 21st century skills; increases student engagement and
motivation, and accelerates learning. Technology also has the power to transform teaching by ushering in a new model of connected teaching. This model
links teachers to their students and to professional content, resources, and systems to help them improve their own instruction and personalize learning.
Technology provides teachers and pupils with access to a variety of educational resources that inspire creativity, critical thinking, communication and
collaboration. It promotes inclusion and the development of digital literacy skills. It extends learning beyond the text and beyond the classroom walls. Training
and seminars, workshop and short-term courses on computer literacy and related to uses of computer in teaching.
