(1) The early generation had a more traditional teaching and learning environment that depended mainly on books, with the teacher as the main source of knowledge transmission through lecturing. Instructional materials were limited to chalk and boards. Assessment was done through pen and paper tests. (2) The new generation has a more innovative and technology-driven teaching and learning environment, where students are more active learners and teachers facilitate learning. Instructional materials now include laptops, smart TVs and projectors. Assessment is performance-based. Class activities are more student-centered. (3) While learning was achieved through reading textbooks in the early generation, learning is now accomplished through performance-based and technology-enhanced methods
