Automatic Return of A Double Acting Cylinder Using Roller Lever Valve

The document describes two experiments conducted by students in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Adamson University. The first experiment examines using a roller lever valve to control the automatic return of a double-acting cylinder. The second experiment investigates pneumatic control of a double-acting cylinder using a counter. Both experiments aim to evaluate the system and controls and are part of an elective course. The documents provide an introduction to the objectives of each experiment and reference sources but do not include any results or conclusions.

I. Introduction
Mechanical output may require more or even less input than what the system can offer,
with that, wanted input must be provided. Pneumatic roller lever valves sense moving
machine parts, usually used for dominating the stroke of cylinders presented in the same
system, functioning as a switch to limit like doors or barrier powered by pneumatic, and
in machine operations, it can be used to specify the desired placement of components.

I. Introduction

Pneumatic counters are responsible for counting compressed air pulses. Counters
vary from 2 types, totalising pneumatic counters and pneumatic preset counter.
Totalising pneumatic counters are for monitoring pulses and display it numerically
on a mechanical or digital display. This counter purpose is to provide mechanical
monitoring for safe usage. The other use of counter is for setting desired pulses for a
system and provides output upon reaching it and is called pneumatic preset counter.

Both Pneumatic predetermining and totalising counters can be reset by pressing the
front reset button or by a pulse of air to the rear reset port which also disconnect the
pneumatic passage for output generated by preset counters.
