Digital Media Preparing Teaching Resources and Using AV For Teaching

Digital media includes various computer and internet-based tools that can be used for teaching and learning, such as videos, blogs, wikis, and educational websites. These tools allow for more interactive, collaborative, and student-centered learning compared to traditional media. When used effectively, digital media can transform the learning process by supporting learning with technology, learning about technology, and learning through technology. Teachers should consider factors like their own beliefs and the institutional context when deciding how to incorporate digital media into the classroom.

WEBQUEST
• A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or
all the information that learners work with comes from the web.

• The model was developed by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State

University in February, 1995.
WEBQUEST
• A webquest is an enquiry-based learning tool which encourages students to
become responsible for their own learning.
• Students are provided with a specific task, and the activities to support that
task.
• They are given links to information available on the web which they use to
acquire knowledge.
• A webquest can fit well into a scheme of work – varying from a single lesson’s
duration to a series of lessons within a topic.
WEBQUEST PROCESS
• According to Bernie Dodge, the six building blocks of a WebQuest are:
• The Introduction orients students and captures their interest.
• The Task describes the activity's end product.
• The Process explains strategies students should use to complete the task.
• The Resources are the Web sites students will use to complete the task.
• The Evaluation measures the results of the activity.
• The Conclusion sums up the activity and encourages students to reflect on its
process and results.
