Assignment On Performance of Line: C B D A

The document contains 7 problems related to calculating parameters of transmission lines such as voltage, current, power, and efficiency. The problems provide line characteristics like resistance, reactance, and susceptance per km and ask to determine sending end values using T or pi models. Parameters include voltage, current, power factor, regulation, and efficiency. Formulas for ABCD constants are also given to calculate line parameters.

Assignment on Performance of line

1) A load of 1000 kW at 0.8 pf lag is received at the end of a three phase line 20 km long.
The resistance and reactance of each conductor is 0.25 Ω/km and 0.28 Ω/km. If the
receiving end line voltage is maintained at 11 kV, Calculate (i) sending end voltage (line
to line) (ii) percentage regulation (iii) transmission efficiency
2) A three phase, 50 Hz transmission line of 200 km length has the following constants per
conductor per km: R = 0.26 Ω, XL = 0.39 Ω, B = j 2.75 × 10-6 mho. If the power at the
receiving end is 18 MVA at 0.8 pf lag and 132 kV (phase to phase), determine the using
T method) (i) sending end voltage (ii) sending end current (iii) sending end power (iv)
sending end power factor (v) efficiency of transmission (vi) percentage regulation

3) A transmission line 200 km long has the following constants

Resistance per km = 0.15 Ω
Reactance per km = 0.5 Ω
Susceptance per km = 2 × 10-6 mho

efficiency and regulation of the line. Resistance per line 0.1557 Ω per km, spacing 3.7 m,
6.475 m, 7.4 m transposed. Evaluate the A, B, C, D parameters also. Diameter of
conductor 1.956 cm.
