I. COURSE TITLE: ON-THE-JOB-TRAINING
II. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Supervised On the job training (OJT) or practicum in surveying agency, government agency and private corporation applying the theory of geomatics and geospatial technology for a
period of 240 hours; exposure to the actual technical and managerial aspects of the Geodetic Engineering profession to gain insight of the various operations, processes, technique
and control presently used in industry.
III. TIME DURATION: 240 hours
IV. CREDIT UNIT: 3 units
V. PREREQUISITE: Fourth Year Standing
VI. PLACEMENT: 4TH Year Geodetic Engineering Students
VII. ONJECTIVES:
A. GENERAL:
In line with the College of Engineering’s trust to meet the industry’s thrust to meet the industry’s demand for technically competent and well-rounded Engineering graduates, the ON
THE JOB TRAINING PROGRAM aims to:
a. Provides the student to exposure to the actual technical and managerial aspects of the Geodetic Engineering profession;
b. Enable the students to gain experience, relate and apply the theories he/she in school to real industrial situations and problems;
c. Give the students a sight of various operations, processes, techniques and controls presently used on industry;
d. Develop and instill a positive, self-confidence ad self-motivation required of a responsible professional in handling tasks; and
e. Impress on the student the importance of human relations in the working place or environment.

B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS OF PROGRAM
a. The geodetic engineering department defines the requirement(s) of the program for each engineering major.
b. All Geodetic Engineering students will undergo the OJT program.
c. A student must meet the required minimum exposure of 240 hours.
d. A student is required to submit a final report at the end of his/her practicum.
e. The student is required to make a weekly report. The OJT Coordinator check this on a monthly basis.
f. The student should at all times keep all documents pertaining to his/her OJT. However, the adviser must be informed of any new documents or forms that were accomplished in
relation to his/her training. He/she complies all these documents for his/her final report.
g. The student must comply with the general guidelines of the company regarding their own OJT program policy.
h. Upon completion, the student is required to obtain from the company the following document: (a) a Certificate of Completion and (b) the final Evaluation Form.
i. The student is required to prepare a written repot and submit this to the OJT Coordinator
C. OJT WRITTEN REPORT FORMAT
All students undergoing OJT is required a Written Report. The content of the bounded report is as follows:

Chapter One: Brief History/ Background of the Company/ Company Profile (1 to 3 pages)
Chapter Two: Weekly Progress reports compilation
Chapter Three: Assessment of OJT Program
Reaction Paper by the student with the following suggested format:

My experience with the people around me
The most memorable event during my OJT
