Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve.

It can be an intellectual
challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance,
no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be
taken to identify a solution.

7th grade, the height of middle school. A year marked by foolishness and absurdity.
From breaking your first beaker whilst mixing water with sodium bicarbonate, to stumbling
upon your own shoes, 7th grade to many is a year of experimentation, and most of all, fun.
And as it turns out, things for me didn't go as normal as they needed to.

The birth of my brother, Aymen, is an event I can characterize with the most horrid
adjectives, yet also with the most beautiful allusions. After reaching the age of 6 months is
when I realized that my brother, Aymen, had Down Syndrome, yet this realization was
much more than your usual karyotype

The oxymoron of whom I now call brother, is, and shall always be, my source of growth.

This juxtaposition of feelings is nothing uncommon about his life, and mine. It was
one afternoon during a vacation to Spain at my grandma's house that I and my cousins,
jubilant and elated, went to the circus, where we came to find out my brother needs heart
surgery. A fifth grader at the time, understanding your brother is nearing the boundary of
death isn't as easy as it seems.

This instance of shock is the first of many that I will later experience. Never did I know I
was to witness my brother undergoing two open heart surgeries as well as a tonsil removal
as well get hearing aids as well as get a portable ventilator to sleep in as well as getting a
kinesiotherapist as well as a
