Lesson Plan in Mathematics: I. Objectives at The End of The Lesson The Pupil Should Be Able To

This lesson plan introduces integers to students. It has the objectives of helping students recognize the importance of integers and define integers. The lesson will begin with preliminary activities like prayer, attendance, and reviewing the previous lesson. The teacher will then motivate the students and discuss the objectives and topic. Students will learn about positive, negative and zero integers through examples and activities. They will explore integer addition and solving problems. The teacher will explain integers further and ask questions to check understanding. Students will then complete an activity evaluating their learning by solving integer addition problems. The homework assignment is to provide 5 examples of subtracting integers with explanations.

Lesson Plan in Mathematics

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the pupil should be able to:
A. Recognize the importance of intergers
B. Define Integers
II. Subject Matter/Topic:
Topic: Intergers
References (Online and Non-Online): Internet
Materials: Cartolina and marker

III. Methodologies
A. Preliminary Activities:
A1. Prayer
A2. Greetings
A3. Checking of Attendance
A4. Review (of the past lesson)
A5. Motivation
* The teacher will prepare some activities based on the topic.
A6. Reading of objectives and subject matter:
*The pupils will read the objectives.
*The teacher will explain the objectives to achieve their lesson.
* The teacher will discuss the lesson.

B. Engage
* The teacher will present some materials infront of the students.
*After, The teacher present she will solve every problem with solution
*The teacher will provide some activity
* Then, The students will answer the question

C. Explore
*The students will have some task to study about the solving of intergers in Adding.
*The teacher will allow the students to have some mistakes to give them freedom to explore.
*The teacher will ask some questions about if their solving is correct.
*The students will give their thoughts about what they have learned on this topic.

D. Explain
integers are the numbers which can be positive, negative or zero, but cannot be a fraction. These
numbers are used to perform various arithmetic operations, like addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division. The examples of integers are, 1, 2, 5,8, -9, -12, etc. The symbol of integers is “Z“.
In terms of sets, the set of integers includes zero, set of whole numbers, set of natural numbers (also
called counting numbers) and their additive inverses (-1,-2,-3,-4,-5,..). Integers are the subset of real numbers.
Example of integers: -100,-12,-1, 0, 2, 1000, 989 etc…
*Addition in Intergers
While adding two integers with different signs, subtract the absolute values, and write down the difference
with the sign of the number which has the largest absolute value.
For example,
(-4) + (+2) = -2
(+6) + (-4) = +2.

E. Extend/Elaborate
* Explain the intergers infront of the students.
* Recap the topic if the students analyze the topic.

* The teacher will proceed to another topic if the students analyze the lesson.

F. Evaluate
A teacher will make sure if the students understand the topic, otherwise the teacher will extend the activity.

The teacher will give some task to evaluate a students learnings.

The following activity:

Answer the following for 3points each.

Solve the following:

1. (+4) + (+7) =
2. (-6) + (-4) =
3. (+5) + (-3)=
4. (-10) + (+5)=

IV. Assignment:
Give 5 example of subtracting integers and explain.
