    As an intern at POLITICO, I work with the breaking news team to monitor, break down and report
    on the latest political news from Washington, D.C. and around the world.

    The Indianapolis Star / Pulliam Fellow


    May 2021 – August 2021, Indianapolis, Ind.
    As a reporting intern in the Pulliam fellowship program, I wrote about trending news in Indiana and
    foundlocal angles on national stories. I also took on a service journalism role, writing explanatory
    articles on everything from home internet to the Indiana State Fair.

    The Arizona Republic / Breaking News Intern


    May 2019 – August 2019, Phoenix, Ariz.
    As an intern on the Republic’s breaking news desk, I covered a variety of events across the greater
    Phoenix area. I worked five shifts a week and wrote and reported stories, in addition to taking
    photos and videos for online and print content.

    The Arizona Republic / Social Media Intern


    May 2020 – July 2020, Phoenix, Ariz.
    As an intern on the Republic’s social media desk, I worked 40 hours a week scheduling Twitter and
    Facebook posts, creating Instagram stories and recording data for social media analytics. I also
    assisted with protest coverage by streaming Facebook Live video and live-tweeting events.
    The Observer / Assistant Managing Editor
    August 2017 – March 2021, South Bend, Ind.
    I served as an assistant managing editor for the University of Notre Dame’s independent student
    newspaper, where I helped oversee paper operations, worked nightly copy editing and proofing
    shifts and spearheaded special projects. Previously, I was a news writer, nightly production worker
    and associate news editor at the paper.

    Skills I am proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Audition, Photoshop, iMovie and
    the complete suite of Microsoft Office tools. I have extensive copy-editing experience and a
    complete knowledge of AP Style, as well as content analysis skills, using tools such as
    Crowdtangle, Parse.ly and Google Analytics to identify trending topics for reporting and social
    media purposes. Additional skills include: using WordPress and other content management
    systems, designing social cards on Canva and using search tools such as LexisNexis.
