At the end of the 40-minute lesson, the students are expected to:
 Define what division is;
 Identify the parts of a division sentence; and
 Solve problems involving division.

3. Motivation

Okay class, before we start I would like


everybody to please stand without making
any noise. (The pupils will stand)

Good! Now, Let’s play a game. Do you


like that? Yes teacher.

Alright! I want you to group yourselves into


3 without shouting and running. At the
count of three.

1… 2… 3… (The pupils will grouped into 4)

How many groups was form?


3 x 12 = 36 (The pupils will answer)
Next, group yourselves into 6 without
shouting and running class. And go! (The pupils will grouped)

How many groups was form?


6 x 6 = 36 (The pupils will answer)

So now, I want you to spread with your


friends. I want to you to group yourselves
into 4. (The pupils will grouped)

What did you observed? We are now many in our group


teacher.

So now, I will write how many groups you


have formed. How many groups did you
form again? We have 9 groups.

Group 2 – Trisha has 4 cousins. She


bought 12 flowers. How many flowers will
her cousin received?

Group 3 – There are 9 balls in Jether’s


house. He has 3 playmates. How many
balls will each of his playmates have?

Group 4 – Auntie Jane have 12 pieces of


candies. She only has 3 nieces. How
many candies should Auntie Jane will give
to them?
Group 5 – There are 8 boys in the gym.
The gym has only 4 bathrooms. How many
boys can get inside the bathroom?

Group 6 – There 36 pupils in the


classroom. They are grouped into 6. If 6
groups of children will use them, how
many books will each group received?
