Assignment scenario

You are working as a business analyst at Wells Fargo, a US multinational financial services company.
Your direct supervisor asks you to find some models and company scope and sizes in a chosen country
for the research to invest in 2020-2025.

Refer to the chosen country’s websites for differences of company models allowed to be established
there. In addition, you need to research some common organizational types within the country to report
to your superior how local companies operate.

Structure of the Report

1. Introduction about the purposes and structure of the report from the perspective specified in the
scenario.

2. Type and Purposes explanation of the chosen company


Type of the chosen company, you must clear down to extent of non-profit of profit organization;
public or unpublicized company; private -owned enterprise or state-owned enterprise; and give
evidences to justify your statements.

Purpose of the chosen company, you must identify the vision, mission, corporate values and
objectives; and identify some specific activities of the company to prove the company is following
its set purposes.

3. An explanation of size and scope of the chosen company

For the size of the chosen company, you must demonstrate the capital with number of total assets,
owner equity and the total liabilities and the number of employees with the latest information.

For the scope of the chosen company, you must present the geographic locations/ markets and the
target customers.

In addition to identifying the size and scope of the chosen company, you should analyse whether
the size and the scope are compatible with the matter of achieving the set objectives and products
or services of the chosen company.

4. An explanation of the functions of the chosen company (using the chosen company’s structure
chart) to show the relationship between these functions and how these functions link to the chosen
company’s structure and objectives.

To be detailed:

- Firstly, you will present the organizational structure chart of the chosen company.

- Secondly, you will explain the main functions of various key departments in this chart and the
relationships between these departments as well.

- Lastly, you will demonstrate the structure (functional structure; divisional structure; matrix
structure or project-based structure, and multinational or transnational structure) and explain
whether the structure serves for achieving the set objectives.

Additionally, you should analyse the advantages and disadvantages of the chosen company’s
specific structure. This analysis should be accompanied by credible evidences.

Furthermore, with the chosen company, student should find out: which department in the structure
works effectively and explains the reasons; and which department in the structure works badly and

Summary:

The article mis reportedly found potential new investment opportunities for the organization.
Concretely analyse the changing market circumstances. BMW Company is known as one of the
companies producing cars and luxury cars in the world. Up to now, owning a BMW company car is a
way for others to show their wealth and luxury. This is a true opportunity to invest in because of the
increasing trend of social development as well as the increasing need to show off style. Because of this,
the report will be made up of a structure from the following sections. Following the introduction will be
the general introduction about the company to be presented. In this section, the company's name,
history, vision and other information will be mentioned. From that can initially show the reliability of
BMW. Relying on the vision and mission to initially help us evaluate whether to initiate or not.

INTRODUCTION.

As an investor in Wells Fargo, a US multinational finance company. I was asked to look for a potential
new investment opportunity for the organization. BMW Corporation is selected for the analysis of the
influence and prediction of the future development.

This report is divided into six main sections, in order to enhance the granularity of the market analysis
and to find potential new investment opportunities: the first part is an introduction to the purpose of
the paper. this report and the selected company. It will be followed by a general introduction to the
BMW company on the implementation of the company's plans, vision and mission. The third part will
talk about the type and development of the company. Next will be the size of the scale as well as the
range of influence. The fifth part is the set structure and function. The last but core part of the report is
to conclude and provide recommendations and possible investment.

The figures, charts, numbers and evidence mentioned in the report are investigated and provided by
websites and legitimate documents and will be listed under the references. The illustrations cited in the
report are available from the sources directly below them.

II. General introduction to BMW:

This is a car manufacturing company in Germany with headquarters in Munich.

BMW owns an important position in the world car market and moreover it is also the parent company
of two other famous car companies, Mini and Rolls-Royce supercar brand and BMW's predecessor,
Rapp. Metrowerks. BMW is understood as Bayerische Motoren Werke which means the Bavarian
engine manufacturer. From the name tells us the beginning history of BMW is the production of
engines. Before 1923, BMW mainly produced aircraft engines.

The purpose of BMW is to always create investment attraction so that they can provide capital to create
development strategies in the future. From its constantly improving products, it can be seen that BMW
is an investable company because of its plans to gain the trust and investment of its shareholders. It can
be said that BMW constantly tries to increase product value and marketing is a good way for them to
find more investors to grow stronger.

From the above, it can be seen that BMW is a new investment opportunity capable of thriving in the
future because they have a clear purpose in their operation. Below is the scale and influence of BMW on
the world market. This section helps the organization better understand this potential investment
opportunity.

opportunity for organizations to invest because we can see their continuous development and efforts.

Following is an analysis of the type of business as well as the purpose of BMW mistakenly give an
assessment of their growth potential and attractiveness of investment stakes in the company. The main
goal of this section is to provide proof of numbers, charts of sales, and even pictures of their financial
statements over the years.

IV. The size and scope of BMW's influence on the world market.

1. The size of the company:

Owning a large number of companies in the world market with a huge staff of more than 120,000
people, there are 31 production locations in 15 countries, (BMWGroup, 2019). In addition, it also
cooperates with a large number of international trading companies.. In addition to the above numbers,
BMW has also earned the trust of a large number of world customers. It can be said that BMW is one of
the leading car manufacturers in terms of luxury as well as the application of modern technology.
Holding a huge amount of assets, as evidenced by the fact that BMW has many headquarters in many

V. The organizational structure of the company.

Head of management and responsible for operating the company is the chairman of the board Mr.
Oliver Zipse. Below are the chief managers as well as the business managers in the company.

In addition to being managed and operated by the chairman of the board, BMW can operate well thanks
to department heads such as: head of sales management on wed, head of operations managing product
manager, head of human resources department, director of manufacturing company, director of
corporate approval, finance department, sales and after-sales department of the corporation.

this is truly a new investment opportunity for the organization. The final part below is the conclusion,
this is the part showing the weaknesses of the BMW company and also a synthesis of the strengths of
BMW, to help the organization understand this investment.

VI. Conclusion.

1. Company drawback:

BMW is a company specializing in the production of luxury cars, so price is the first weakness that
prevents the company from looking for more customer segments for itself. In addition, the use of high
technology is also a difficult issue when it comes to warranty and repair. The third problem is that the
reduction of CO2 emissions requires BMW's designers to work at full capacity to meet the market. The

problem is the conversion of energy sources, The world is on a gradual transition from gas energy to
electric energy.

2. Strengths, the reason can be considered as a profitable investment opportunity BMW:

At first, the cost is quite high, but it is also the characteristic that BMW creates because this point has
brought BMW into the luxury car market that many people want to own. The next thing that high-tech
is difficult to fix but brings safety creates a lot of comfort for the user is also what helps many people
choose BMW as a top priority. The final thing is that the marketing policies and development strategies
that provide BMW with market expansion opportunities.

Through the analysis of the company BMW was able to prove this is a new investment opportunity for
the organization, although there are still weaknesses, but it has also become a brand for this company.
