The DataLink GW1000-DHPM provides high speed interconnectivity between an Allen-Bradley DH+ and a Modbus
network. The -DH+/Modbus can be any station on DH+ and can be set to either Modbus Master or Modbus Slave. Master
mode enables any DH+ station to read / write up to 100 words (per message) to any 4xxxx or 0xxxx register, and to read
up to 100 words from the 1xxxx and 3xxxx registers at any Modbus Slave address from 1 to 255. Slave mode enables a
Modbus Master to read or write up to 1600 coils or 100 registers (per message) to bit or integer files in any PLC-5 station
on DH+ (except 0). Modbus commands to address 0 can be “broadcast” to a selected range of DH+ stations.

The DataLink GW1000-DHPE is a gateway between an Ethernet TCP/IP Network and AB’s DH+ Network. This cost-
efficient solution extends the life of legacy Allen-Bradley PLC5 and SLC/04s by eliminating the need to upgrade each PLC
with an Ethernet processor.
Digi Ethernet Chip & DF1 Driver The GW1000-DHPE incorporates the Digi NS7520 Ethernet Chip on it’s board using the
Digi’s Redirector software to create a tunnel over Ethernet TCP/IP for any existing serial com port DF1 driver. The beneifit
of the GW1000 solution is that there isn’t any internal reformation of the serial DF1 protocol, thus eliminating a
“BOTTLENECK” of an internal DF1 RS-232 link. The tunnelled packet is received by the GW1000 and directly formatted
for DH+ transmission, and inversly, a DH+ received packet is immediately placed in an Ethernet TCP/IP packet for
transmission to the Redirector software on the PC/HMI/MMI.
The DataLink GW1000 Controller enables users to run MMI applications or program/monitor PLCs & SLCs on a DH+
Network from an Ethernet LAN station. Tested applications include RSLinx,RSLogix,RSView, Wonderware, & Citect.
The GW1000-DHPE combines the Lantronix Ethernet Microprocessor with DataLink’s DH+ token-ring technology.

The DataLink GW1000-DH485A is a compact, DinRail ASCII Gateway to A-B DH-485 network protocol. It provides an
ASCII interface to PLC’s on the DH-485 Network for printers, bar code scanners, and other ASCII devices.
In Scanner operation the ASCII data is stored in the buffer until either a terminating character (CR, LF, CR & LF) or 240
bytes are received. The packet of ASCII data is then sent to an integer file in the PLC.
In Printer operation, data stored in PLC ASCII files can be outputted to printers or message displays with a simple write
command to the GW1000.

The DataLink GW1000-DH485M is a Modbus master/slave interface for computers, MMIs, and OEM based applications
that require access to a node on AB’s DH485 network. Highlights include palm-size portability, DC power, external Din
Rail cabinet with Modbus USB or serial functionality to DH-485.
The Modbus/DH485 can be set to be either a Master or a Slave on the Modbus serial link, as well as communicate using
either RTU or ASCII protocols.
The Modbus/DH485 in Master Mode can read from and write to registers and coils in any Modbus Slave device
connected. Slave Mode allows a Modbus Master device to read from or write to files in a A-B PLC or SLC connected to
the DH485 network.
Serial Interfacing
CHA – RS232, RS422 and RS485 Interface to DF1 (Full Duplex) device (SLC CH0)
CHB – DH-485 Non Isolated Interface
CHC – Future use

DataLink Technologies Gateways has been providing industrial network users with connectivity solutions since 1990.
Our products interface computers, modems, OEM equipment, variable speed drives and SCADA systems to Allen-Bradley
Data Highway Plus and Remote I/O Link, Modicon Modbus, Siemens, Toshiba & custom protocols. DataLink products
have been tested and proven with all major PLC programming software, MMIs, and SCADA (Supervisory Control And
Data Acquisition) packages. DataLink devices connect to a wide variety of operating systems including DOS, Windows
3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT, Macintosh, OS/2 and QNX. We offer exceptional, quality products and support at below
average prices.
No Special Software Drivers Needed. DataLinks simply use the efficient A-B DF1 drivers already available with most
popular PLC applications. This simplifies systems integration and reduces start-up time and costs. If your application
doesn’t already have a DF1 driver, we can recommend third party suppliers or provide information so that you can write
your own.
