BRIGADA ESKWELA S.Y. 2021-2022
Masaguisi National High School believes that environment plays a vital role in student’s learning.
The institution has been consistent in delivering the DepEd’s advocacy to provide learners an
environment that is inclusive, healthy, friendly, protective, and rightsbased.
Brigade Eskwela )BE) and Oplan Balik Eswela (OBE) initiative were setting the school-based
launching to assist teachers and stakeholders in their respective preparation for school opening,
participating and contributing their time, effort, and resources to ensure that cleanliness becomes
pleasing and the environment is safe for the learners.
This school year’s BE is very different compared to the BE in the past years. This is because of
the Covid-19 Pandemic The institution made sure that functional linkages was established and exchange
of information was disseminated following the standards set by the IATF, DOH, and LGUs.
On August 6, we started the BE with Parent’s Orientation. After the Orientation, volunteers
went to their respective areas. I assisted some parents to weed the front area of the Grade 10 building
and managed them in segregating the wastes. The activity continued until 4pm and the parents and
volunteers were asked to sign the attendance sheet.
On the second day of BE (August 7), we started the day by clearing trees of twigs and branches.
Cutting tools were provided to the volunteers. The activity lasted the whole morning. After lunch, the
Tau Gamma Phi/Sigma, Masaguisi Chapter fraternity/sorority volunteered to clean the school ground. I
helped managing by giving instructions to the said group and I also asked assistance from the same
group to help clean the soring area (SLMs). The activity expired at around 4pm and volunteers were
asked to log to the attendance sheet.
Third day of BE(August 8) was very inspiring since we started it with volunteers from the Alpha
Kappa Rho Fraternity/Sorority who helped us clean the surrounding areas of the Grade 10 building and
helped us cut down trees hazardous to the students. Some leveled the uneven ground by removing big
stones and raking the soil. The group was asked to sign the attendance sheet after the activity at around
4pm.
On the 4th day of BE (August 9), parents and some volunteers from the SK Federation arrived
with high spirits. I helped managing the assigned areas and helped documenting the activity as well.
The volunteers dedicated time by cleaning the SSG Office and its surroundings. Volunteers were asked
to sign the attendance sheet after the activity at around 4pm.
The last day of BE (August 10) seems just the start of the program as more parents and
volunteers arrived to help school in its preparation for school opening. We distributed the tasks
according to priorities. Some helped us clean our classrooms. Some helped cleaning the school ground.
Some helped cleaning and repainting the plant boxes. The school is now reading for the opening of
classes. “It is not about perfect, it is about effort. And when you bring that effort every single day, that
is where transformation happens. That is how change occurs.”
