How To Be A Bad Girl
How To Be A Bad Girl
How To Be A Bad Girl
Prologue
Diary entry:
Dear Diary, you don't know who I am but I know what I'm using you for. Don't be offended by
the word "using" please! Because, right know, you're my only friend. My name is Olivia, but I
guess a lot of "Olivia's" write in one of your kind, so I'll be more specific. I'm Olivia Elizabetta
Schuman Matolli Werneck. Big name huh?! But that's not the only thing about me, so before I
write all my thoughts on you, I'll tell some information about myself.
My father is a very successful businessman, his name is George. He's always traveling because
of his business, and wherever he goes, I go too. But even thought we travel a lot, I don't even
get to put a foot outside the house we stay. My father is like, this overprotective parent, since
my mom died, he ISN't the same. I think he is afraid of losing me, like he always says. But to be
honest, I want freedom!! Since I was 4, my life resumes in traveling with him, studying at home
with tutors and the only time I get to actually get out of the house, my father is always by my
side monitoring my every move. It's almost hard to breath. I don't have any friends, the only
friends I have is my books and now you my dear Diary. I feel like a modern version of Rapunzel,
without the super long hair(and the chameleon, but it's only in the recent movie anyways).
But just like Rapunzel, I want to meet the outside world by myself. I will wander the streets
alone, go to wherever I want and meet new people, possibly even make friends. And for once,
not worry about what my father will think. I just wonder what everything looks like. Not that
I'm completely clueless to everything but having a father that scares everyone with his power
don't really help in making friends(except if you bribe people to act like your friends). The fact
is: Going outside by myself is the only way I have to really know what happens in the world.
Things like: What a teenager girl like me does? What they like to do outside school? What age
they usually get a boyfriend? What's the taste of a hamburger? What a school prom looks like?
How to kiss a boy? How it'll taste like? How to ride a bike??
OK, these are ridiculous questions, I know. You might be thinking I'm a totally foolish, naive
and inexperienced girl and to tell the truth you're right. I don't even know the taste of a Burger
for God's sake!! My father always tells me that a Burger is an unhealthy and "poisonous" food
and that I never should eat them. He only let's me eat extra healthy food. And the other things
I asked?? Well, I read books and watch movies about what a teenage girl does, but like I said: I
want to live the experience myself.
Now, since I already told you about who I am, my lifestyle and desires, I'll tell you a secret.
Tomorrow is the day. Tomorrow is the day I'll finally go outside by myself. Every things is
settled, tomorrow my dad will go to a business meeting and won't take me with him. So, while
he is outside, I'll have time to turn off the alarm system of the house(including cameras) and
fool the housekeeper into thinking I'll just go to the garden to breath some fresh air and read a
book. Then, while I'm out of the house, she'll think I'm just in the garden reading a book. Not
that she cares anyways, she knows I like to read in the garden and that I use to spend hours
and hours doing it.
Now I have to go Diary, tomorrow night I'll tell you everything that I experienced. I'll carry you
with me though, but since you can't know things without someone writing them on you...
Olivia woke up with sun rays hitting her face, she didn't mind though. She was happy instead
because that day was the day she waited for her entire life!! The day she would be free for one
day!! And maybe, when she explained everything to her father, he might realize that she was
ready for a new life. A life of a normal teenage girl. She would be no more the mordern version
of Rapunzel, she would be the new version of herself, Olivia Werneck, am average young
girl!!!
Olivia got out of bed and to bathroom. She did her business and showered. When already
washed and clean, Olivia went to her wardrobe and picked a cute outfit for her day. A lace pink
dress with cute sandals. To complete her outfit, she braided her hair and put some light make
up. Olivia was a girly girl and she wanted the whole world to know.
Going down the stairs, she smells the delicious aroma of fresh made breakfast. When she sat
on the table, her father appeared. He was already in his suit, ready for another business
meeting. Like all mornings, he gave a kiss on Olivia's forehead wishing her a good morning.
"I hope you behave yourself when I'm outside, You'll be alone with Helga and she will take care
of you until I return okay?" He asked
"Okay dad, I'll be a good girl" Olivia smiled, her father didn't notice but her smile was more a
mischievous one than a happy one.
When they finished eating, Olivia's father got up and said his goodbyes to his daughter. When
he finally exited the door, Olivia almost jumped in joy. Time to put my plan into action she
thought. Going upstairs and picking a few books from her bookshelf and searched for Helga,
the housekeeper, who was eating her own breakfast at the kitchen.
"What do you want girl?? Can't you see I'm eating??" The bitter woman spoke with her heavy
german accent. Olivia didn't like her one bit, but she had to pretend she cared for Helga. It was
all for the plan.
"Already grumpy at this hour, Helggie?? I just came here to tell you I'm going to read in the
garden."
"Just go already and let me finish my food in peace!" Helga waved her off. Olivia nodded and
turned away, walking through the door that lead to garden. She heard Helga muttering
something though. "This girl never stops reading, whenever she goes to that garden, she never
comes back. Not even for lunch". To others, this speech would be offensive, but to Olivia, it
was perfect.
Once in garden, Olivia hid her books by the tree she used to read. Then she entered her house
again, but from the window. She climbed, ran to her father's office, logged in his laptop,
disabled all the house's cameras so that nobody would see her escaping and returned to
garden again. Her plan was flaw free(almost), her father wouldn't return before night, Helga
thought that she would spend the day reading, the camera's where disabled so when her
father came back, he would not see her getting out of house. She would lie that she didn't feel
well and decided to go back to her room and stayed there all day. And when she felt that it
was safe to reveal everything to her dad, she would do. Perfect plan.
Olivia opened "the gate to outside world" like she liked to call. She took a deep breath and
made the first step. It was so exciting!! That was one small step for a normal teenager, but one
giant leap to a girl like Olivia. Olivia took her first steps and already was outside the house. She
felt so alive!! Like she could start dancing and singing like Rapunzel in Tangled when she first
steped on ground. She could hear the music in her mind.
"Just smell the grass, the dirt, just like I dreamed they'd be
---
The city's streets where large and full of people roaming around them. It was a big town, so
Olivia didn't pay mind. She then saw a very inviting bakery. The delicious smell that came out
of it talked for itself. It was the perfect place to begin her adventure. She entered the bakery
and first saw a huge slice of chocolate on the counter.
"It'll be 3 dollars" The baker said. Olivia frowned, then she remembered that she had no
money!! What a dumb idea going outside without any money. Crap"
"I'm sorry, but I forgort my money. But if you give me this slice now, I'll pay you later" Olivia
said sweetly, this baker could be some cheerful old man that liked to cook and share with
friends. She read a book where a boy was friend of a baker.
"What are you thinking girl?? That I'm some kind of Santa Claus that goes around giving treats
for everyone?? I may be fat but I'm not stupid. Go fool someone else." He wasn't what Olivia
thought. And she walked away, her cheeks a light pink.
---
Olivia didn't give uo though, the bakery was a mistake and she had no money but still, she
would make something out of that day. Friends. So she walked and walked until she spotted a
little boy playing on swing. She was at a park. There were various persons just enjoying
themselves and the day. Olivia decided to go and talk to someone, her first "prey" would be a
young looking woman she saw sitting by herself, taping something on her phone.
"Hello!" Olivia said giving her best "Let's talk" smile. The girl just turned to her and gave a quick
nod, then returned to her phone.
"I'm Olivia, Olivia Werneck. It's hot today isn't it?" Again, the girl only nodded. Olivia was
beginning to lose patient.
"So...you didn't tell you name. Who are you" the awkwardness was growing really fast, and
Olivia was drowing in it. The girl this time, turned her head, gave a small glare and picked up a
bag, taking earbuddies out of that and putting them on. Olivia understood what the girl was
trying to say, so she just got up and walked away. Her day was being awful so far, it looked like
in that town nobody was nice enough, even for a little chat.
---
Olivia was disappointed, or better, she realised the world wasn't what she thought. Obviously,
nobody was super gentle and kind with strangers that they just met. It was only a thing for
books. But a naive girl like Olivia, who didn't even knew the taste of a burguer, believed that if
she got out of her house, with a bright smile and open heart, everybody would welcome her. It
was the exact opposite, Olivia had no money, she couldn't discorver the taste of things she
didn't taste yet. Olivia couldn't make friends, because everyone that she tried to chat with, just
looked at her with a funny expression. Even when she tried to help a old lady cross the road,
the lady told her off. And then Olivia was left alone with only her thoughts. And one in
particular bothered her:
Olivia was walking through a very strange neighborhood, it seemed poorer than the other she
had been in. There were some boys smoking something and others were painting the walls
with ugly drawnings. Suddenly, she heard loud voices, it looked like a argument...
"You think it's funny to steal another people's belongings huh?? Now I guess I have to steal
something from you as well" It was the voice of a girl, she was holding something and pointing
it to a man
"I didn't allow you to talk! So why are you talking??" The girl got closer.
"You shouldn't have robbed me. Now you're gonna pay. Burn baby" The girl smirked
malisciously. Then, she shot him.
Olivia couldn't believe her eyes, she witnessed a murder. She began to tremble, them her
heart raced, her palms became sweaty and then, she screamed. The scream was so loud, the
girl that murdered the man turned to her. She gave Olivia a look like she was daring Olivia to
do something. So Olivia did, she ran. But she didn't go far, another girl with a gun stopped her
from doing so.
"Stop right now or I'll shoot you" The new girl said, two others new girls approached her. The
murderer approached Olivia from behind.
"Oh, now the thing is getting exciting" The murderer whispered in Olivia's ear. The only
thought that crossed her mind was:
Olivia turned to look at the murderer. She was a really beautiful girl, her eyes were a crystal
blue, her long, wavy dark brown hair was perfectly done into a ponytail, her slightly tan skin
matched well with the tattoos she had all over her arms. The girl was beautiful, like nothing
Olivia had ever seen. Not that she had seen much girls though.
"So...girl, what's your name??" The murderer asked with curiosity filling her eyes.
The murderer gave a half smile and nodded, then she began to look away(probably to the
others girl) and seemed in deep thought for a moment. Olivia couldn't take the situation, she
was afraid to die. So she asked:
"W-what w-w-will y-you d-do -t-to m-me?? W-w-who a-are y-you??" She couldn't help but
sttuter non stop. The murderer smirked.
"Who am I you ask??" Then she made a pause, laughing a little. The continued:
The name suited her, but what surprised Olivia was the complete name, "Ace Hart", clearly it
almost sounded like a joke. "Hart" and the word heart matched perfectly together, and let's
not forget about "Ace". Ace Hart. Ace of Hearts... That's why this name suits her. Olivia's
thoughts were interruped by Ace, she walked until she was before Olivias frightened gaze. Ace
obviously noticed it, and chuckled.
"Why so nervous?? I won't harm you if that's what you're thinking." Then she turned to look at
the other girls and contiued "I have a better idea with what I should do with you."
This statement alone made Olivia begin to tremble again, her forehead was becoming wet of
sweat because of the nervouseness.
"Girls, do any of you have that thing??" Ace asked. A red haired girl nodded, she was to the left
of the girl who threatened Olivia with a gun
"I do, always carry with me in case of a emergencie." The red head smirked, amused by Olivia
oblivious look. Olivia wanted to know what thing they were talking about but surely she
wouldn't like it.
Red head picked something out of her backpack, it was a rag. Olivia asked herself what would
they do with that rag. Her questions were answered when the red head gave Ace the rag and
she came closer to Olivia.
"It won't hurt, just make you sleep. In a good way okay??" Ace raised the rag close to Olivias
nose before she could protest or even think of it. Suddenly, her legs grew weak and a strong
desire to sleep envolved her body. She heard Ace say something.
"Well, sleep in a not so good way to tell you the truth." Then, blackness.
---
Olivia woke up with a massive headache. Her body felt like pure jelly-o and she couldn't move
properly. She wondered what happened to her to feel this way. Suddenly, realization hit her.
She was kidnapped!! By a group of girls!! The first thing Olivia thought was to scream for help,
but it wouldn't help her, wherever she was, she was sure nobody could hear. Then, she began
to wonder about all the things she read and watched about kidnapping but doing it was a bad
ideas, she began to panic.
"So you are awake huh?!" She walked to Olivia and sat at the corner of the bed. "Look, I know
you might be feeling horrible now, but you'll get used to it okay?" She told Olivia, her voice
was almost reassuring, but her eyes held almost no emotion at all.
How could she murder a man, kidnap a her and still be able to tell this?? Olivia was exasperate.
Ace sure had the courage to do horrible thing and still come and try to peace her mind.
"Aren't you going to talk?? or scream?? claim for help? beg for freedom?" Ace asked, raising
an eyebrow. Her tone was similar to that one when Olivia and her were in that poor
neighborhood. Ace was daring Olivia to do something. Olivia accepted the dare.
"Why s-should I scream f-for help?? I-It would result i-in nothing" Olivia tried her best to
conceal her fear along with her tears. With no success. Ace already percepted it all.
"You sure can't fight but still can try to stand up for yourself. Good" Ace said, but Olivia noticed
that it was more to herself than to her.
"You witnessed a murder, not only that but you witnessed ME murdering someone. And now I
can't let you get away." Ace said seriously, Olivia once again began to tremble, ready for
another cascade of tears.
"Don't panic though. I won't kill you, you're more valuable to me alive." Olivia felt a little relief,
but still felt fear. What could Ace do?? Try to exchange Olivia's freedom for her father's
money?
"No, I won't exchange you for your father's money." Ace said, like she could read Olivia's mind.
"I'll use you for another purpose" Olivia's eyes wildened, what other purpose could she have to
her aside from exchange??
"I'll tell you later what I have in mind for you. Now let's eat something, you must be hungry.
You slept for one day." Surprised, Olivia nodded
---
Ace's house was big, with luxurious mobiles and clean appearence. Olivia wondered how she
managed to aford it all, but to a girl that can kill and kidnap, it shouldn't be a surprise that she
had such a big home.
"You can sit there and I'll bring you a sandwich." Ace pointed to a sofa in the living room. There
was a girl already seated there, it was one of the girls Olivia met before. The girl glared at her
but noticing Olivia's fear, smirked. Hesitant, Olivia sat besides the girl. Soon Ace came back
with a plate with a sandwich and a glass of juice.
"Here it is. You can eat, I didn't poisoned it." Olivia nodded and began to eat the sandwich. It
was delicious. But with hunger, everything turn delicious.
"So now I want you to meet the girls." Ace then shouted to the other girl come "GUYS, COME
HERE NOW!!" She ordered and instantly three more girls appeared and took a seat at the living
room.
"Girls, this is Olivia, our guest" Olivia almost rolled her eyes at the word guest. "She'll be living
with us from now on. I want you to treat her like you all treat each other" Olivia almost
choked, she didn't know that Ace's plan inclued her living with them. But the tone in Ace's
voice showed that she wasn't kidding.
"This is my gang Olivia, the White Tigresses." Once again, Olivia's eyes wildened and she
almost choked. Gang?? These girl were in a gang?? Olivia couldn't believe her ears. She then
looked at all of the girls, all were pretty and didn't look like they belonged to a gang. Bad girls
maybe, but not a gang. What Ace was planning after all?? She said Olivia was a guest but it
sure wasn't even the point of iceberg. Did Ace want to turn Olivia into a gang girl??
"I'm Trinity, nice to meet you!" The first girl who spoke had black hair and a sidecut on it. She
wore nerdy glasses but Olivia could see her warm gaze and smile. She seemed to be the nicest
of them all so Olivia smiled too. It was easier to like her because she wasn't with the gang,
kidnapping her.
"I'm Morgana, but everyone calls me Mo" Said the red head that gave Ace the rag they used to
kidnap Olivia. Olivia just nodded, not wanting to associate with her, she was still resentful
about the all "smirking at my disgrace" thing.
"My name is Nikki." Said the girl besides Olivia, the one who smirked at her.
"And I'm Ray." The girl who pointed a gun at Olivia earlier said, her voice was a "annoyed with
all of this" one. "Now that the little "presentation party" ended, I'm getting out." Then she
walked out of the living room. Ace huffed at her action.
"Now that you know everyone, you might want to know what I'll do with you" Olivia nodded. "I
will say this loud, clear and without rambling: I want you to be a part of my gang"
Olivia gasped, she knew it!! But how?? How could Ace expect that a girl like Olivia could do
things a gang do?? She surely wasn't the right person to do that job.
"W-what? WHAT?? You want me to be a part of your gang?? But how? Why?? " Olivia took a
pause to breath. "You said yourself that I can't fight!!"
"I knew she would freak out about it, I warned you Ace" Trinity said, receiving a glare from Ace
in return.
"But you can stand, or at least try, for yourself. Besides, you witnessed me killing a man, I can't
let you go or you'll call the cops on me. Or worse, you'll be killed!" Ace said
"I promise, I SWEAR, I won't call the cops on you!! And why would I be killed?? Or..you
wouldn't kill me, would you??"
"I said I won't kill you, and when I say something, believe it. Cause it's is the truth. And to
answer your question I'll have to ask another. Do you know who that man was??" Olivia shook
her head.
"That man was Ricardo Vasquez, one of the most respected drug lords around. Or at least he
was. But he stole something from me, and he paid with his life. Don't think I killed him out of
nothing, I planned for months my revenge." This made Olivia shiver, Ace was a dangerous girl.
At first glance, she seemed just a common bad girl, but there was more to her than meets the
eyes. And it's terrifying.
"He had a lot of connections, so if you witnessed his murder, you could be associated to it. And
believe me when I say it, if they, or better, when they find out, your life outside my protection
is over. So you better reconsiderate my propose cause If you don't, you better choose what
kind of coffin you want." Ace said dangerously. All the other girls in the room looked at Olivia
with curiosity, waiting for her answer.
"I-I-I..." Olivia couldn't speak. She was terrified, so she instead of saying something, she got up
and ran away. No one made a effort to stop her though, besides, Olivia only went to the balcon
anyways.
---
Olivia didn't know what to do, in one moment she was with her father, safely living with him,
but in another, she was with a girl gang deciding if she should accept their proposal. If she
denied, she could go back to her life and her father. It wouldn't last long though. If she
accepted, she would live, but without her father. It was a difficult decision.
"Having doubt about what you want, no?" Ace appeared besides Olivia
"Yeah..." Olivia muttered
"You know, the gang life isn't so bad. Okay, maybe you'll still have some survival problems, but
you'll know how to fight back. You'll learn things about yourself that you never thought
existed."
"But what if I don't want it?? What if all I wanted was to be a normal teenage girl?"
"Then, just say no to me. But answer me before: if you want a normal life, why didn't you
already said no to my proposal??" Olivia scoffed, obviously Ace couldn't understand the
meaning of self preservation.
"Yeah, but with all the money your father has, you could easily change places." Olivias eyes
wildened. How did Ace knew that her father was rich??
"You might be wondering how I know that. Well, I made my homework about you. You're
Olivia Werneck, daughter of George Werneck, one of the richest man in the country. How I
know your full name? I read in your diary. Great writting by the way." Olivia was tired of Ace's
little games, so instead of surprised, she was beginning to feel something she never felt. Anger,
true anger.
"So you know my name huh?? And you problably read my diary entry too. Yeah, right now you
might be thinking that I'm just a foolish, naive girl who thought the world was a happy place
anywhere you go. And believing it, I ended up kidnapped by a group of girl who call themselves
by a ridiculous name and that, aside from killing and kidnapping, are capable of doing worse
things. And to top it all?? I'm pratically on the run for my life and have to decide if I want or
not be a part of a world of crimes, drugs and wrong doings. That's it? That's what you wanted
to hear? You wanted me to admit that right now I'm hopeless?" Olivia exploded, she couldn't
take it no more. Ace clapped her hands.
"That's it!! What I wanted to see!! What I knew was inside of you begging to be free!! I'll admit
it, in the moment I looked at you in the eyes, I realised I needed you in my gang. Not just
because what happened or the fact that I'm short handed, but because I saw that you had
some fire inside of you. And now finally I could see that!" Ace was clearly proud. Olivia was far
away from that though, she felt ashamed. She never talked to someone that way before. She
didn't want to feel what she knew she would if she stayed with Ace. She didn't want to feel like
a bad girl.
"It was just a weak moment of mine. I'm not like that okay? I'm not a bad girl like you!!" Ace
raised a brow, she knew what Olivia meant by that.
"You know Olivia, I'm a bad girl. You're right, you shouldn't want to feel like this, to be like this.
But if you look the right way, you will want to . Tell me, is this the first time you speak your
mind?, what truly has on it?I guess that the answer is yes. Cause you're the kind of girl that
doesn't mix with girls like and the others. Cause we are the kids your father doesn't want you
to associate with, we are the kids that everyone think it's cool to be like, we are the kids
everybody fears, we are bad girls."
Olivia stayed silent, she didn't have the guts to deny what Ace said, it was all true. Even if she
didn't want it to be.
"You think being a bad girl is wrong? Something to be ashamed of?" Ace continued."But Olivia,
I can show you incredible things, I can show you how to be a bad girl. And you're gonna love it"
"How can I love something that only will make me closer to hell?" Olivia asked, she was
skeptical. Ace just chuckled.
"Darling...good girls might go to heaven when they die, but bad girls, might experiment heaven
even before death."
Chapter 3
Olivia stared at Ace, the girl sure was a conving person. For a moment, Olivia thought in
agreeing with her, after all, experience new things and have adventures was what she wanted,
right? But then, Olivia remebered the kind of things Ace did. She wasn't just a bad girl, she was
a gangster. Someone dangerous, someone that she shouldn't even trust to begin with, So she
decided what she wanted.
"My answer is no." Olivia said, making Ace's face turn from confident to confused. "I don't
want to be a part of your gang or your world, sorry"
Ace, for the first time, showed a surprised expression. Her eyes wildened slightly, it was totally
different from any other faces Olivia had seen her do. Ace almost never showed emotion.
"Are you saying that you don't want to be a part of the gang??" As if percepting her mistake,
Ace change expression again, this time her face was blank.
"Exactly." Olivia nodded. "Now if you excuse me, I have to go back home. It's like you said, my
father has money and we can move to another place, country even. Don't be afraid though, I
won't tell him your name or anyone from your gang." Olivia was about to leave when Ace
grabbed her arm with force.
"Do you relly think I'll let you go this easily?" Ace was angered. "Like I said before, you
witnessed me murdering someone, and I can't risk letting you go, even if you say you won't tell
anyone"
"I never told you that if you said no I would let you go. All tha sh*t about "Your father has
money" was just a way to calm you down. I never had the intetion to set you free. I thought
you would agree with me and stay."
Olivia was disgusted, that girl was not just a murder, kidnapper, gangster but she was also a
liar. Olivia really wanted to believe her when she said that things about "If you don't want it,
you can say no". But now she was backing on her word and telling Olivia to stay. But if Olivia
stayed, she would be of no use since she didn't want to be a gangster.
"You are such a liar!! For a moment, I believed you! But now, you are the last person in the
world I'll trust" Olivia said
"Ruler number one from this world girl: Never trust anyone" Ace said.
---
Back at the living room, Olivia didn't know what to do. She wanted to hide in a corner and cry
her eyes out. But it would be no use because crying wouldn't help her to run away. Suddenly,
she heard a ringtone. It was a cellphone, Ace's cellphone. Ace picked it up and answered. The
other three girl paying attention.
"Hi, Ace speaking." The gangster said but after that, she went back to the balcon.
"Who do you think is calling Ace? She almost never receives a call. Much less at this hour." The
red head, Olivia remembered her name to be Mo, asked.
"I don't know, but I think it's not a good thing. Whenever it's bad news, she always isolates
herself." Nikki answered, Olivia remembered her as "Smirking Girl".
"Let's just hope it's not something too serious." Trinity spoke.
The room went silent after that, no one spoke a word. Everyone seemed to be in deep
thought, wondering what Ace was doing at the phone. Who she was speaking too. Olivia
couldn't help but look at the three girls. Now that she was calmer, she noticed all of them were
really beautiful. These girls are like, nymphs or something? How could such pretty girls be all in
the same gang? Olivia wondered. But even if they were pretty outside, they were like roses. At
first glance, beautiful and graceful, but when you touched them, you could hurt yourself with
their thorns.
"Nikki, Mo, call Ray and say to her to meet me at my office. Now." Said Ace, coming back from
balcony. Olivia noticed that she was more serious than normal. Something must have
happened. Mo and Nikki got up and went after Ray.
"And you Olivia, go wash the dishes. If you're not gonna be a part of this, at least do something
useful." Ace said and walked away. Olivia huffed, don't wanting to do wash the dishes. She
wanted to go back to the room she woke up in and cry again.
"I can help you wash the dishes." Said a voice, it was Trinity. Olivia looked at her and only
nodded, she didn't have the guts to associate with these girls. Even the nice one.
"So, Ace want you in the gang huh??" Olivia nodded once again.
"You can speak when there's just the two of us you know. I'm not a bitch like the other girls. I
think that's why I always stay at my room, doing things in my computer. It's so easier than
have to deal with all this crazy girls. But I love them nonetheless"
Olivia smiled at Trinity's breaf speech, she was surely the more nice of the gang. She made
Olivia feel comfortable with herself at that house. So Olivia decided to reply. Finally, she was
making her first talking friend. Well, almost.
"Yeah these girls are crazy. How to deal with them?" Olivia asked, wanting to know what each
one was like, this way she could know how not to piss them off and enter on their black list.
"You're a smart one, no? I guess that's why Ace wants you" Trinity said. "Well, Mo is like the
one with anger issues of our group, so don't do anything to piss her off or so she will turn your
life here ten times harder. Nikki is a airhead, she is more of a party girl and likes to flirt. She is
also my closest friend here cause she is the easiest to talk to. Ray, is a loner, even more than
me. She almost never speaks and when she does, it's always to say something snarky or
sarcastic." Trinity then pauses.
"And how about Ace??" Olivia asks
"Ace?? You just have to know one thing about her: She's a mystery. She isn't the most friendly
person, but she has her moments. She also is quite the loner. But her most noticeable trait is:
She's an amazing leader. She managed to make a name for herself in a world where man rules
almost everything."
Olivia couldn't deny: Ace was an enigma. She could be a murder, kidnapper, liar and everything.
But she must have worked har for her position. It was something Olivia looked up to.
---
At night, Olivia was in "her" room, crying her eyes out like she wanted to do the whole day.
She missed her father, the man who raised her, the man who taught things to her, the man
that kissed her forehead every morning, and every night said "I love you". Olivia loved him,
even if he was overprotective, he was still her father and she missed him with all her heart.
Then, she remembered that her diarywas with her. She had carried it with her the day she ran
away from home. Oh, how she regrets that day. Olivia then opened her diary, only to find a
pen with a note to her.
For you to write on here. You have a nice writing by the way. - A.
Ace managed to amaze Olivia once again. How can someone who murders another people, do
a good action?? Olivia didn't want to try and solve the enigma Ace was, so she just opened her
diary and began to write.
Diary Entry:
Dear Diary, it's been a long time I don't write on you. Well, not so long time, but every minute I
pass without writing on you, feel like eternity. My life is a mess right you know. I witnessed a
murder and the murderer decided to kidnap me. And you wanna know the worst part?? She
wants me to...
Suddenly, Olivia stops writing, she heard a noise outside the door. It was similar to the noise
she heard that day when she watched Ace murder someone. It was a gunshot. She then heard
screams and began to panic. She didn't know what to do, so she hid under the bed. Praying
that nothing would happen.
"...RAY, BRING MORE GUNS!! TRINITY YOU..." Olivia could hear Ace shouting between the
shots and all the noise the fight was making. She was terrified. What now?? She would die??
Suddenly, she heard the door of the room being opened. She went further under the bed,
trying to hide. Her eyes began to water and her vision became blurry so she couldn't tell who it
was. Then, footsteps. They were coming closer.
And closer
Closer
Closer
A hand pulled the covering sheets out of the bed. Olivia's heart stopped, she had been
caught!! But to be honest, her place to hide was like, too obvious.
"Relax, it's just me. Trinity" Olivia rubbed her eyes, now she could see clearly. It was really
Trinity, in a pikachu pajama. But what made Olivia's eyes wild, was the gun that Trinity carried.
"Don't be afraid, I'll protect you. And don't worry about the gun, it's just for protection. Ace
told me to come and protect you." Olivia sighed with relief but still confused with what was
going on.
"It's not just because of that emo girl." He said, a obvious cocky tone in his voice. Olivia looked
ate the stranger. He obviously heard their conversation. Was he there to kill them?? Her
questions were answered, but not the way se expected though. The man looks at her and says:
---
Chapter 4
Olivia looked at the man in front of her. How did he know her name?? Why was he looking for
her? There were so many questions and so little answers.
"You might be wondering who I am and what I am doing here. Am I wrong, Olivia?" He said,
mischief filling his voice. Olivia only could think about one thing though.
Am I this easy to read? Everyone here seems to know what I'm thinking. This is so creepy.
Then, he came into light and Olivia could see his face. It was beautiful. He had brown hair, was
a really tall man and built like a castle. But what stood out the most were his eyes. Deep,
mysterious, fascinating emerald green eyes that called out to her. And Olivia answered the call.
The attraction she was feeling was undeniable. But Trinity didn't seem to be as attracted as
Olivia eyes because she aimed her gun at him and asked.
"Who are you?? Why are you here??" She said sternly
"You don't have to know who I'm. But I'm sure if you hear my name, you'll realise what I'm
here for. Or not. Since you don't know why I'm here anyway..."
The unknown man didn't even had time to finish his sentence when he, Olivia and Trinity
heard a gun shot close by the stairs, it looked like someone was ready to go upstairs. Olivia
froze and Trinity pulled her by the arm.
"We have to get out of the house now!" Trinity said while shaking Olivia's body to make her
wake up from her trance. Olivia looked at Trinity and decided to run away with her. She didn't
want to know who was firing a gun. But suddenly, the unknown man stayed on their way out
of the house.
"Do you really think I'll let you scape?" He said. Trinity aimed her gun at him again.
"Let me pass!! Or I'll shoot you!" She said and it made the man laughed, he then shook his
head and aimed his gun at her.
"You shoot me and I'll shoot you. We both lose." He said, his tone turning cocky. "Now let's not
be like my fellas downstairs and talk. Without fights. Now put the gun on the floor."
Trinity hesitated, but obeyed his order. The man did the same. Olivia felt a little relief run
through her but it didn't last. Trinity quickly assaulted the man and kicked him where the sun
never shines. He backed away a little and Trinity took the opportunity to catch the two guns
and aim at him. Olivia was once again petrified, she never knew Trinity could play so dirty. But
this was a gang world.
"Now you will let us go or you're dead." Trinity threatened. The man laughed.
"You're really a soft one aren't you?! If it were the others, I would already be dead." He
mocked Trinity
"I'm not like them. I just kill when it's necessary." The man nodded and got out of the way.
"So now you can go" He said. "But I'll be back for you, Olivia"
Olivia stared stunned at him. Was he really letting them go this easily? He said he wouldn't.
What kind of game was that? Why didn't he screamed for his partners? What was his name
after all? How did he know her? It was all so confusing. But it could wait, Trinity pulled Olivia
by her arm and the two ran away to the nearest room.
"This room has a mini elevator. But it's big enough for the both of us." Trinity said opening a
little door at the wall. "When we get down, we will exit."
She then entered the mini elevator and Olivia did the same. It was kinda of narrow there but
nothing that she couldn't handle. She was running for her life after all.
When already downstair, at the basement, Trinity opened the door and they exited the house.
They were about to get in Trinity's car but a shadow appeared. It was a man, one of the
attackers. He ran towards them and began to shoot. The bullets almost hit Olivia several times
but she and Trinity managed to hide behing a tree. The man was still shooting and Trinity doing
the same. But they never hit one another. Till the both ran out of bullets.
The car was really close, if they managed to run faster than the attacker, they would enter the
car and leave. Trinity decided to make the first move and urged Olivia to run.
"Run Olivia, run!" She yelled. Olivia knew it wasn't the time to make jokes but she wanted so
bad so yell back that she was not Forrest Gump. But she obeyed anyway
While they were running to the car, the man ran to them. He collided with Trinity, making her
fall to the ground. Olivia panicked, the man was about to attack her too. He tried to punch her
but Trinity got up and kicked him on his stomach. He backed away for a second but it wasn't
enought for the two girls to run. He attacked Trinity again, punching her jaw and making her
fall. Olivia was so done with him that after he punched Trinity and went to finish her, she took
the opportunity to kick him were the sun never shines. He yelled in pain and it gave her the
chance to catch Trinity's gun and hit him on the head.
Trinity then got up and finished the job by kicking him several times. When he was already
unconscious, they ran to the car and drove to the new house they were staying.
---
Hours passed and, on the road, all Olivia could think about was what that handsome man had
told her. But not only that, she thought about what turn her life made. How she went from
Rapunzel to girl who was on the run for her life. She remembered her father, and wondered
what he was feeling about not having his little girl by his side. She remembered all the things
Ace said to her. Ace...Where was she right now? Dead? Alive?
"Hey, do you know what happened to the girls?" Olivia asked Trinity, who was driving.
"I don't. The last time I saw them, Ace ordered me to protect and run away with you." Trinity
said, Olivia noticed a bit of sadness on her voice.
"Do you think they are ok?"
"Maybe. I don't know. But they are really good fighters, so I guess they have chance of
surviving." Trinity reassured Olivia. "But what's strange though, is the attack. You know,
Ricardo Vasquez gang and affiliateds aren't known to do such kind of things. That attack was
too reckless, too sudden. I wonder if it has a connection to what that man said"
What Trinity said made Olivia wonder. If this was an act of revenge, why they attacked them
like amateurs? Olivia remembered what that man had said.
Was he the only one looking for her? Or perhaps, the whole gang was actually looking for her
and the "revenge" was just an excuse? It could be it!! But why? Why would they be looking for
Olivia like that? Noticing Olivia's worried expression, Trinity tried to cheer her up.
"Hey, I saw what you did to that guy. It was really brave of you."
"It was nothing, you finished him remember? If it was not for you, I would've been killed"
"But you did a great job by reacting instead of staying still. It takes some guts to do it, trust
me."
Olivia giggled a little. What she did wasn't that special. She just got tired of the man and
decided to kick him. If she stopped to think about it, she never had done something like that
before. She was a girl who never had punched someone, or kicked. And much less a girl who
got sick of people's behavior. Ace was right, she was changing. She just didn't know if it was for
better or worse.
"But, you are still really inexperienced. You have much to learn." Trinity continued. "I guess
you should at least learn how to fire a gun. If you're gonna to live with us, you're gonna have to
learn how to fight"
Olivia nodded. Even if she didn't want to admit, she needed to learn how to fight. Ace wasn't
going to let her go, so she might as well learn how to fend for herself. But it was just it. She
wasn't going to join the gang never. NEVER.
---
Arriving at the new house, Olivia and Trinity entered it. There was no one in the house yet. It
worried the both of them. Olivia began to wonder if in fact they mad it ou alive.
"Nobody is answering my calls, so I guess we'll have to wait." Trinity said. And they waited.
Suddenly, the noise of a car filled their ears. Finally the girls arrived!! Or so they thought.
Getting out of the car, Mo, Nikki and Ray made their way towards Trinity. They hugged each
other. In that moment, Olivia knew they were not just a gang, but a family too. Trinity had told
her that. Even if they fighted, the world would end if one of them died.
"What happened? How did you manage to get out?" Trinity asked the three girls.
"We shot some boys, fighted and blah blah blah..." Mo said, she seemed beyond tired. But
who wouldn't be? She fighted witha whole gang with just other three girls.
Wait! But there were just three of them. And the fourth? Olivia noticed that and asked.
As if they just noticed it, Mo, Ray and Nikki looked at each other. They didn't have a clue where
Ace was.
"We don't know...She ordered us to take some guns, supliments and to run away. But
obviously we had to fight the boy first to escape." Nikki said. "The last time we saw her, was
when she ordered us."
"Yeah, and when we entered the car, Ace's car was still there." Mo explains. "But I think she
will come soon."
Trinity then face palmed herself. The girls all looked at her.
"How could I forget about it??" Trinity said then explained. "We all have a gps system to our
cars right?" The girls nodded. "I installed a program where we can track where the car is right
now! So we can know where Ace is right now"
Trinity then grabbed her phone and began tipping on it. For a moment, Olivia felt happy. They
were going to know where Ace was. But instead of happiness, Trinity's face showed shock
when she finished looking at her phone.
"W-what happened?" Olivia asked. Trinity gulped and look at the four girls before her.
"Here it says that..." She paused and took a deep breath. "Ace's car is still in our last house"
Olivia's eyes wildened. The only way Ace had to escape that house by was riding a car. The
area the house was in, was a troublesome one. Perfect for a gang to do it's business because it
was on the middle of a forest. But horrible to someone who wanted to run away from it. Ace
could be at anywhere in that forest, or in the road. Or even dead. But the main question was.
The five girls were silent again. They didn't know what to do, they didn't know if it was better
to wait a little longer or take action and go looking for their leader. Mo was as irritable as ever,
Nikki was shaking her right leg uncontrollably, Ray was like she always was, with a blank face,
Trinity was biting her nails and Olivia couldn't help but stay frozen like she did in a situation
like that.
"We have to do something!" Said Mo getting up of the couch she was sitting. "We can't wait
any longer or else Ace will die"
"What if she is already dead?" Nikki asked, not caring if that was a delicated situation
"Nikki, it's not time for being pessimist. If we're lucky, Ace is still alive. But she can't be by
herself any longer, Vasquez's allies can find her and do something" Mo said hpefully, but Olivia
noticed that she was angry too.
"C'mon Mo, like I said something THAT horrible. Just like us, Ace knew what she was getting
into and the consequences of it. Be a member of a gang is dangerous." Nikki said
"Yeah, but she counts on us to help her whenever she gets in trouble. We all are like this too!!"
Mo clenched her fist and walked closer to Nikki.
"I'm sorry if you're so naive to think that even with our help, she could still die." Nikki said
sassily and that made it. Mo was about to punch Nikki when Trinity stopped her and yelled at
the
"STOP IT!! It's not time to fight!!" Trinity said, dropping Mo's fist and getting between the two
fighters. "We have to use our heads right now, not our force!" Then she turned to Ray. "Ray,
you're second in command, so what do you think we should do?"
Ray looked at Trinity, her face still blank. Olivia wondered how could someone stay so
emontioless in a sutiation like that, not even Ace would've been this uninterested.
"We have to go back and look for Ace at our old house. Maybe she's still there." She said, her
voice as monotone as her face.
Trinity nodded, so did Mo and Nikki. Olivia did nothing, her opnion didn't matter to them
anyways, so why bother saying something? Then, Trinity, Mo and Ray walked to the car,
leaving Ray and Olivia behind. Ray got up and looked at Olivia, Ray had a disgusted expression
rather than a blank one. She walked closer to Olivia and said
Olivia's eyes wildened in surprise. She didn't expect Ray to act this way towards her. Much less
in a situation where her leader was missing and she should've been panicking. But Olivia said
nothing, she didn't have the courage to reply something. She could stand up for Ace, but Ray
was even more of a threat. So Ray continued.
"I don't know what Ace had in that crazy mind of hers to consider you entering our gang. She
must've lost it. But I didn't. And I know you're just some weak, spoiled, whining brat that at the
first chance to escape, you'll escape." Ray then turned to the door's direction and said. "Now's
your chance. I won't take you with me, so you'll be alone and you can go." Ray walked even
closer to Olivia, their noses were just a inch apart. Olivia could feel every single drop of hatred
Ray held on her gaze.
"This is an unique chance. So don't you dare waste it. I don't want you here when we get back.
Cause if I come back, and you're still here, I swear I'll make your life a living hell on this gang."
Ray said menacingly and then turned to the door again and got out.
Olivia was still frozen on her spot. She couldn't believe it!! Ray didn't even knew her, so why
was she saying she was weak? Last time Olivia checked, she helped Trinity to get rid of that
attacker. But it was only just that time, she remembered. The other ones, she just stayed
frozen and only could mutter few words. Not daring to move, not daring to fight. And it made
Olivia's blood boil. She was so ashamed of herself, she would like to be stronger and brave.
This way, the girls would respect her. This way, she would be able to defend herself. This way,
Ray would just shut up and let Olivia be.
When thinking about Ray, she remembered how emontioless she looked. And still wondered
how she could do that. Weren't Ace and Ray friends? Ray was the second in command, so
maybe she would like to be leader, that's why she didn't seem to care what happened to Ace.
Olivia huffed. Ray looked like that characters in books that were just "too cool for you". They
always were the most cruel to the main character.
---
After some minutes, Olivia was still sitting on the couch while thinking about what she should
do. But then, why was she doing that?? Didn't she want freedom from that gang? Didn't she
want to meet with her father again? So why was she still sitting there??
The only answer Olivia could think of was that if she ran away, she wouldn't know where to go.
But again, she knew what direction the road was so she could go there and wait for a car to
pass by. Another excuse she made was that if she ran away and go to her house, her life would
be at risk. But...staying with the gang was risking her life too. And also, she always could
convince her father to move again, to another country even like Ace had said.
So why was she still seated there?? It was like she wanted to prove something. But to who??
To Ace? To Ray? To her father? To the other girls? No. Shw wanted to prove something but not
to Ace, or Ray, or her father, or the other girls.
She wanted to prove to herself that she could be strong. That she could fight. That she could
make happen everything that she always dreamed about. Olivia wanted nothing but to be
strong. She always dreamed of going out and discover the world, make friends and new
experiences. And now she had the chance to. It was like she thought it would be? No. But it
was all she got. She couldn't go back, her father would imprison her once again. And Olivia
didn't want it, she wanted to be free and even if she had to fight with some bitchy girl that
didn't want her in the gang, she would. So Olivia decied something...
---
Olivia waited for the girls to come back, every that passed, her body grew anxious. Suddenly,
she heard a car engine. They came back!! Olivia ran to the front door and opened it, only to
see three enraged girls get out of the car and walk past her. Trinity, Mo and Nikki seemed to in
a state of pure rage. They entered the house and didn't say nothing, not even Trinity that
always greeted Olivia. But Olivia continued to look at the car, waiting to someone else get out.
She witnessed a girl opening the door. Ray.
Ray spotted Olivia looking at her and gave a menacing glare. She was about to walk towards
Olivia when a girl stopped her.
Ace.
Olivia's features filled with joy and she smiled at seeing that Ace was alive. She almost wanted
to run to her and hug her body. But it would end up being awkward. Ace talked with Ray a
little, and Ray nodded to Ace. Then, Ray walked away from Ace and went to the opposite
direction of Olivia, probably to the back door. Olivia couldn't stop herself. When she saw that
Ray was away, she began to run towards Ace that was waiting for her.
Looking closely, Olivia noticed that Ace wasn't so damaged like she thought she would be. Ace
only had a few scratches in her skin and a slightly bruised face.
"So you decided to stay. Even after Ray's threats" Ace said when Olivia was close to her. Olivia
frowned, how did she knew that Ray threatened her into running away? And like always, Ace
seemed to know what Olivia was thinking and said.
"I myself asked to Ray to threaten you." She said and Olivia's eyes wildened. She couldn't
believe in what she heard. Ace asked Ray to threaten her??
"Because I wanted a proof. A proof that you wanted to stay and be something besided the
"Rapunzel" you always thought to be." Ace replied. Olivia was still confused but Ace explained
further,
"This "missing" thing was just a lie. I ordered Ray to threaten you when she and the girls
arrived at this house." She paused a little then continued. "Before Mo, Nikki and Ray ran away
from the old house, in the middle of the fight, I approached Ray and told her to make you and
the others think I was missing, so she and the others would have to go looking for me and
leave you alone since it would be dangerous for you to go with them." Ace looked Olivia deep
in the eyes. "It was the perfect chance to let you decide if you wanted to leave or join us."
Olivia stared at Ace, stunned. Once again, the gang leader was able to surprise her with her
cunning mind. So it was all a lie, she thought. It was all a lie just for me to decide what I
wanted to do. One part of Olivia was angry with all of this, the other girls and her were all
worried with Ace, how she could do that to them and lie?? The other part of Olivia felt
honoured. It was the most awesome thing someone had ever done to her. Lie to their best
friends just for her. Only Ray knew about the farse.
Ray...the girl who "threatened" Olivia. Olivia felt relief that Ray wasn't talking serious about the
whole "making her life a living hell". Lost in her thoughts, Olivia didn't notice when Ace put a
hand over her shoulder. When she did, she looked Ace's way.
"So now that you stayed, this means you want to be a part of the gang, doesn't it?" She asked
"Yes, I want." She looked at Ace's eyes like Ace had done to her minutes ago. It was a deep
stare, like they could see each other souls.
"I want to learn how to fight. To defend myself." Olivia continued and Ace smiled, not a smirk
like she often did. But a genuine smile.
Ace and Olivia kept looking at each other's eyes for a while. Olivia never had looked at Ace so
closely. She wanted nothing but to stop the time and keep looking at Ace's crystal blue eyes.
Olivia liked to look at Ace's eyes because in the dept of them, she no longer saw a emotionless
gang leader, she could see a part of Ace's soul, and the sorrow it carried. Thee sorrow didn't
scare Olivia though, instead it made Olivia realise that Ace was just like her inside. A girl
wanting to be normal.
"Why are you in a gang?" Olivia decided to ask. "How do you entered this business?"
Ace kept her blank face. She didn't seem angry with the question, but it was hard to know
what she was thinking. For Olivia, even if she deciphered some of Ace's feeling in that day, the
gang leader's mind was still a big puzzle to solve.
"I don't want to talk about it" Ace replied, her monotone voice echoing through Olivia's ears.
Understanding that it was no use to ask again, Olivia just nodded. The two of them decided to
go back to the house and have a little reunion with the girls.
"Girls! I want all of you here now!!" Ace shouted, her powerful voice filling the air.
Slowly but surely, all the other girls appeared. They still held angry expressions in their faces,
except for (obviously) Ray, that had her usual emontioless face. Olivia could understand why
some of them were angry, after all, Ace had lied to them and made them worry. She then
looked at Ray, the only one who knew about everything, and now she could understand why
Ray was with such a blank and almost uncaring face.
"I have to say something for you" Ace spoke. "I'm sorry" She said and stayed silent. Trinity, Mo
and Nikki were still with angry expression, Ace might've noticed it but did nothing. Some
minutes of silence filled the house before finally one of the girls said.
"So it's all you have to say to us?? "I'm sorry"?" It was Mo. Obviously it had to be her the first
one to talk, Olivia thought.
"Yes, and I have more important things to discuss with you than why I did what I did" Ace said
"But..." Trinity was about to speak but Ace cut her off
"But nothing! I did what I did just to test our guest, and right now, our new member!" Ace said
to all of them, her voice a little louder. But instead of arguing anymore with their leader, the
girls wildened their eyes. All seemed surprise, except for Ray of course.
"So..." Said Trinity trailing, still stunned. "Olivia is our new member..." She trailed again, like
she couldn't believe it. Olivia didn't blame her though, the news were somewhat shocking,
"B-but why is she joining us?" Nikki asked, and for the first time (and probably last) she heard
Nikki sttuter.
"She stayed here. That's all. I ordered Ray to threaten her just to see if she had the courage to
stay." Ace replied. " And even after all the threats and risks, Olivia decided to stay."
The girls were still with their mouth open. That annoyed Olivia a little, she wondered why they
were so surprised. She understood that it were surprising news, but did they think so low of
her to be that stunned?
"It still don't make up for the fact that you fooled us!" Mo said, anger still on her voice. "You
should've told us about your plans, wer are your friends, we deserve to know everything." She
continued on protesting. Trinity and Nikki said nothing, but the look in their eyes said that they
agreed with Mo.
"I already said: I'm sorry!!" Replied an irritated Ace. "What happened is on the past and thank
you if you care so much for me to this point. But you should know by now that what we do is
dangerous and I might die someday because of it."
It silenced the three girls. Mo put her head down and walked away, her footsteps were just
like her voice, full of rebellious intentions. Trinity just stared at Ace and Nikki seemed to be
wondering if she should go or stay.
"Ace, we all worry very much about you." Trinity said. "I know you don't like this kind of pity,
but I just want you to know. We were scared that you could've been dead." She walked closer
to Ace and hugged her. "So please, don't do it again. You reckless acts can be the death of you.
Sure it's a dangerous business but if you learn how to behave, you will survive"
"I know it." Ace said, hugging back. "I know it better than any of you"
This sentence left Olivia wondering. What did Ace mean? It made her realise one more thing
about the gang leader. She had a past. A past that she didn't want to talk about. What could
have happened to Ace be like this? How did she entered a gang?
"Olivia, welcome to the gang!" Olivia's thoughts were interrupted by Trinity. Olivia smiled to
her and thanked. Trinity nodded and decided to leave. Nikki did the same and Ray was
nowhere to be seen. Olivia guessed they left because they were still somewhat angered with
Ace. The latter, sensing Olivia's thoughts, said.
"They will be okay tomorrow. This isn't the first time they get angry at me. They always say I'm
reckless and blah blah blah. They must be just tired, the fight drained everyone's energy."
"Talking about the fight, why did they attacked us?" Olivia asked curiously, wanting to know if
Ace knew the real reason. But Ace just shook her head.
"I don't know, I think it was just for revenge." Ace explained. "Vasquez was known to have a lot
of connections and allies that received money from him, and since I killed him, they lost a
source of money. Now they want to take me down and steal my money."
Olivia opened her mouth but nothing came out. She already knew that the attack was an act of
revenge, Trinity had told her that night. She just wanted to know if Ace knew something more
about it but it seemed she was wrong. Ace didn't knew what really had happened. Olivia then
remembered what that handsome man had told her. But decided to don't say anything to Ace.
Maybe he was just teasing Olivia, or playing games. For now, I'll stay silent. I'll discover it by
myself, Ace have enough worries.", Olivia thought. If Trinity, that heard it too, didn't say
anything, so this must be a sign that it didn't matter. So why I feel that something is
wrong? Olivia thought again
"Are you ok?" Ace asked, concerned. She didn't notice Olivia's strange behavior, wich was a
first. The fight must've taken it's effect on her.
"Now let's rest. It was a long day and we, specially you, have to be prepared for your training
tomorrow." Ace said while making her way to her room. Olivia did the same. She wondered
what it would be like to train for the first time. Olivia was so tired that she didn't even had
forces to write on her diary
---
Olivia woke up to someone shaking her. Her eyes opened slowly, taking all her surrounding
before noticing a feminine frame beside her bed, waking her up
"Wake up! Wake up!" Trinity said, still shaking Olivia that was groaning. "Wake up before Ace
comes here and wake you up herself. And I know for a fact, you won't like it."
"Okay, okay. I'm up!" Olivia finally gave up on complaining. Trinity giggled a little.
"Now, take a shower and change. I put clothes in your bathroom for you! Breakfast
downstairs!"
Olivia nodded and went to the bathroom and did what Trinity told. She changed into a dark
blue tank top that hugged her body perfectly well, also slim fit leggings that reached her knees
and a sporty sneakers. Olivia looked at herself at the mirror, it didn't look like the girly girl she
was before, but it was back then when she was stuck. She was now another type of girl, a bad
one. A gang member.
Olivia went downstairs and ate her breakfast. Trinity ate with her and Ace joined them right
after. There were just the three of them. Olivia wondered why the others didn't come.
"Mo is still sulking on her room, Nikki might be sleeping and Ray is...doing whatever she does
whenever we don't have a big mission" Trinity said.
After eating, the three girls went outside, to a area of the house that was full of work out
materials. It was some kind of gym and that was the first place Olivia would begin.
"Now we will begin your training. You'll work out to become physically fit and resistant. I'll
teach you some arts of self defense. And one of the most important things. How to use
weapons. This is just your physical training though, you'll train also your emontional control
and your business skills" Ace explained
After hearing that, Olivia realised how it was hard to be a part of a real gang. She had to be
mentally and physically fit, the business she was involved into demanded that.
"Now we will begin with some warming up..." Ace said. And they began.
---
After an hour and half of working out, Olivia was already exhausted. She had to run, do
crunches, abdominals and so much more that she felt her energy was being drained off of her
body. Ace commanded her to stop, Olivia gladly did it and fell to the ground, resting a little
while trying to control her breath,
"Y-ye - arf- yeah" Olivia replied. Trinity laughed a little and Olivia almost glared at her, but
didn't do so because she couldn't.
"I see. We have much to do, you aren't used to this kind of work out." Ace said and Olivia left
out a sigh of relief. "But it's just the start. We still have much to do." Olivia's eyes wildened and
she almost shoute "WHAT?".
"But for now we will teach you how to use a gun." Ace completed her sadist speech. Olivia
nodded and offered her hand to Trinity help her to get up. After this, they went for another
part of the house. It was a hangar where some human-like figures were drawed on the walls.
There were some holed in them, indicating that someone had trained there before.
"It's our gun training hangar. I'll teach you how to fire a gun" Ace said walking towards some
armory, picking up a gun and walking back towards Olivia, handing her the gun.
"Here. We won't use phones though. We rarely have the chance to protect ourselves from the
noise a gun makes, so I'll train you to be able to endure it."
Olivia held the gun in her hands, the cold metal against her palm felt like a reminder of what
she was doing. How it was all so illegal and reckless. The gun felt heavy not only in her hand,
but in her mind.
"Be careful, hold your gun firmly." Ace ordered. Olivia did as she told and prepared to fire the
gun.
"Now put your index finger on the trigger. Don't forget to pull it smoothly when I say go" Ace
said.
Olivia was aiming her gun at the target. Her heart began to beat faster, she didn't know if she
could do at least a slightly good shoot without freaking out. The tension was raising in the air.
Olivia waited for Ace to say the word. Every second she waited, felt like hours. Then, in the
corner of her eyes, Olivia saw Ace open her mouth. It was time.
"Read, set..."
Olivia could hear her heartbeat. It felt so wrong, but at the same time so right. She couldn't
wait to finally be a part of something.
"Go!!"
Olivia pulled the trigger. And her last chance to give up, was gone like a bullet.
---
Chapter 7
The bullet went straight into the target, but did not reached the drawn body, instead it hit the
wall next to it. A small groan left Olivia's mouth, she was so close of hitting the target. Ace and
Trinity did not disapproved it tough, they applauded her.
"Congratulations! It was your first shot and you did well!!" Ace said, smiling and clapping her
hand like a proud mother.
"But I didn't hit the body" Olivia said looking at the hole where her bullet was.
"Oh c'mon on Liv, it was your first time yet you did a great job." Said Trinity. "On my first time,
the bullet hit the ceiling." She reassured Olivia.
Olivia felt a little warm inside, she had made a mistake but the girls didn't seem to care. They
were cheering her on instead. It meant a lot for Olivia because she never had this kind of
incentive before. Not even from her father.
Her father... how was he doing? Olivia started to wonder about him and how he was handling
her disappearance. She didn't know if him was taking it well or if he was worried. Obviously he
should be beyond worried though. That thought alone left Olivia thinking of herself as the
worst daughter ever. She was not just stupid enough to run away from home without leaving a
not, also she was a part of a gang.
"Are you ok Liv?" Trinity asked and it caught Olivia's attention. "By the way, do you mind if I
call you Liv? It suits you."
"Okay, enough with the chit chat. Let's get back to train" Ace interrupted the two girls. Olivia
nodded and turned to her target again, trying to shoot at it while Trinity cheered.
---
Weeks later...
Olivia was returning from some long hours of pure training. Weeks had passed and Olivia was
getting better at her train. She could spend hours working out, without almost dying of
exhaustion. Ace taught her some arts of self defense like karate, aikido and kick boxing. Olivia
was doing fina at the three of them, but still needed much more training if she wanted to excel
at it. The only thing that she wasn't getting better though, was shooting targets.
She didn't know why, but whenever she held the bullet on her hands, she couldn't concentrate
enough. Olivia always hit the wall next to the body target, but never the body target itself. And
if she hit it, it was only on the foot or legs. In real persons, it was enough to cause damage, but
never injure them severely to the point of killing. And maybe it was because of it that Olivia
couldn't bring herself to shoot correctly. Whenever she was about to shoot, she remembered
that what she learned, would be used to try to kill someone. And Olivia just couldn't do it.
Ace said that she had potential, to fight, to shoot someone and to do gang business. But her
major flaw was her compassion. Olivia wasn't the kind of person who could do something as
serious as kill someone. But if she wanted to keep living that lifestyle, she had to learn how to
shoot someone. It was needed in some cases and in missions, even when everything was
peaceful, the gun was something she had to carry at anytime.
"Are you hungry?" Said Nikki while Olivia entered the house. It was almost dinner time and
Olivia's stomach was growling.
"Yeah, I'm really hungry. What are you doing for dinner?" Olivia asked.
"Lasagna, you need some carbohydrate too if you want to be stronger." Nikki answered. Olivia
smiled and said a little thanks. Nikki was a nice girl. Olivia got to know her better by the weeks
that passed. Trinity was a great friend of Nikki, and since Trinity was Olivia's "best friend" at
the gang house, they started to get along too.
Olivia learned that Nikki liked to cook, and she was reallt good at it. She learned also that Nikki
was a funny and kind girl, but someone who you shouldn't mess with. To Olivia, it was strange
how could someone so kind, like Trinity and Nikki, be a part of a word as naty as the criminal.
But then, their stories on how they entered this world, was something that stayed glued to
Olivia's mind.
Flashback:
A week after Olivia made the decision of staying with the gang, she was starting to get
familiarized with the house and it's residents. Everything was peaceful, they weren't attacked
anymore and the only business they did was dealing with another gangs about some product
they were selling. The training still was as hard as Olivia's first. She wasn't used with all the
lessons and work outs yet, but she managed to survival during one week.
The residents of the house were getting used to her as well. She could greet them in the
morning without getting a glare in reply. Mo was still her moody self, Olivia didn't talk much to
her but they were slowly(and by slowly, it was REALLY slow) warming to each other. Ray still
ignored Olivia and Ace was kind yet distant, like always. The only real friend Olivia had made
were Trinity and Nikki. Trinity had introduced Nikki to Olivia a day after her first train session.
And since that day, the three of them got along pretty well.
That night they were seated together, star gazing. The house they were living at was far away
from the city lights, which allowed them to see the stars of the night sky more clear. They were
talking about trivial things, not really caring if the topic was a stupid one. While Trinity and
Nikki talked about some boys they met, Olivia was thinking about her life back then when she
was a girl stuck in her house. And how things turned out to being like this. Then, she
remembered that the two girls besides her, were once normal girls too. Or at least, weren't
criminals at some point. She wondered how girls like them ended up in that kind of business,
so she asked.
The two stopped talking, their faces turning serious. Olivia's cheeks reddened, had realised
how stupid she sounded. She didn't even know the girls for too long, yet she was touching in
such a delicated topic. But to her surprise, one of them decided to explain
"My father was a drug dealer." It was Nikki who revealed. "My mother died giving birth to me,
leaving my father to take care of me." She paused a little, as if the memories caused pain, it
probably did.
"He was a gentle and honest man, but then, the life cost was getting more expensive, too
much for him to handle. So he entered the drugs world. But he didn't dare to use them, he just
sold them to another people." Another pause, she seemed to be struggling to talk.
"If you don't want to talk about it I understand. It was insensitible of me to ask such things"
Olivia said and Trinity nodded. But Nikki shook her head, refusing to stop
"No it's fine, I'll be fine. It's just a little painful." Then she continued her story. "Like I was
saying, he began to sell drugs. It was a easy job at first, but then, he was getting too involved
with the drug world and it's "owners". I was too young in that time, so I didn't do anything to
stop him."
"One day, I was coming back from school, and I saw him laying on the couch, injured. He was
so injured that he couldn't even talk properly." Nikki stopped once again, closing her eyes,
maybe trying to hold back tears. "I tried to take him to the hospital, but he just said to leave
him be and ordered me to go to my room. That was just the beginning though. The poker
games from that day ownards were more frequent. My house's mobiles were starting to
disappear and my father seemed to always being in a bad mood. Always worried, always
paranoid.I was so naive, I thought that he job was doing us well. I should've told him to stop."
She was sobbing a little, but continued nonetheless.
"But one night" Her voice trembled. "One night, I came back home from a friend's house, and I
saw my dad..." Her sobs increased. "I saw him...dead on the kitchen's floor." She was holding
back even more sobs. Olivia and Trinity were hugging her. They didn't dare to say a word, Nikki
needed to let that go of her chest.
"By his side was a note for me. It's been years, but I still remember each word that was
imprinted on that paper." Nikki was stopping her sobs, instead, her voice was filling with rage.
" In that said: "That's what happens with people who mess with us. Never owe a drug lord little
girl." That man was so cruel, he killed my father and mocked me at the same time. I was a kid
that time, I didn't understand much of all, but it marked me. And when I grew up, I decided
what I wanted. Revenge." Nikki said, now her tears gone. Olivia and Trinity stopped the hug.
"When I was a teen, I became a "girl of the night", always doing favours to men I didn't care
about. But it solved my problems in the end, I learned my way through the drug business. I
discovered who commanded that area, it was the same man that murdered my father. So I
made a plan, I would seduce him with my skills, take him to a room, and kill him." Venom was
droping on Nikki's voice
"He was a frequenter of the cabaret I worked. He liked to sleep with one different girl every
night. And I was lucky to be one of them. With the gun I stole from one of his fellas that night, I
entered a room with him. He tried to take off my clothes but I was faster. I aimed the gun at
him and revealed who I was. I still remember his surprised face, it was almost hilarious." Nikki
smirked a little. Olivia could understand why she was so twisted.
"I shot him and ran away. But I think some of his mans noticed I killed him and went my way.
But the lucky seemed to be at my side that night, Ace, Ray and Trinity saved me" Nikki was
smiling remembering of her friends. "And the rest you can already guess, we met, got along
and then they invited me to be a part of the gang" Olivia nodded, so this was how Nikki
entered the gang. Wow
It was even more twisted than her own story. Olivia felt a little pity towards Nikki, she had no
one. Her mother died, her father died. That's why she was so twisted and confusing. That's
why she was with the other girls, they might be as twisted and confusing as Nikki.
"This is really sad Nikki" Olivia said. "But I know now that you found a new family. One that you
can count on." Olivia reassured Nikki, she smiled kindly in return. Then Olivia turned to Trinity
and asked the same thing.
"And you Trinity, what's your story?" Olivia asked and Trinity looked at her, sighing.
"It's not as dramatic as Nikki's." Trinity said, turning to look at the stars, Nikki laughed a little
and told her to hurry up and tell.
"It's quite short actually. My parents were like your father Olivia, overprotective and all. But I
didn't like all their strict rules. I liked to sneak out of the house and get in trouble." Trinity said
huffing a little. It was the first time Olivie had seen Trinity act like that.
"They were always punishing me for what I did. Locking me in my room." She closed her eyes.
"So one day I got so tired of all that, of all their rules and expectations, that I ran away. Not my
best decision in life though. I lived in the streets, doing some dirty jobs like stealing and
robbing some houses to survive. My parents never looked for me. They knew I would run away
one day or another. It enraged me even more." Trinity sighed again, her memories, unlike
Nikki's, only brought her anger.
"It was like they didn't care. So one day, I got in a fight with some girls, that time anger guided
me through life. But Ace and Ray pulled us apart, that was the day I met them. They were girl
who, like me, were misfitis and lost in the world. So we decided to form a alliance, and then, a
gang." Trinity finished her talk with a long sigh.
"So now you know how we entered this business." Nikki said, making her voice sound like
some kind of narrator ending their story. Olivia nodded but she had the feeling that their
stories, even though she never experienced them, would be marked on her mind forever.
Then, she wondered how the other girls met. Ace and Ray knew each other before Trinity and
Nikki, and probably Mo was the last one to join. Aside from Olivia, obviously. She thought what
kind of stories the others had, but didn't have the guts to ask Nikki or Trinity to reveal more of
their pasts. The night was painful enough for them, she didn't want the others to feel this way
as well while telling her their story. But to be honest, she didn't even knew if they would tell
her if they asked. So Olivia just kept quiet and looked at the stars.
End of Flashback.
"Where are the others?" Olivia asked, looking for the other girls.
"They will come when I say that dinner is ready." Nikki assured Olivia. It was common in that
house, the girls locked themselves on their rooms sometimes and only came out when
someone called. Suddenly, Olivia heard someone's loud footsteps. It was Trinity. She had in
hand a paper with some article from a journal but Olivia couldn't see it so well.
"I don't and I don't want to know while I'm eating." Nikki replied and shouted. "Dinner's ready
everyone!!" Then, suprisingly quickly, all the other girls came out of their rooms and seated on
the chairs of the table. Taking advantage of the situation, Trinity spoke about what she had in
hands.
"It's serious Nikki!! I found out something important" She said and all the heads turned to her.
Ace gave her a nod to say that she could keep talking about her discover.
"Ace, like you asked me, I was searching for some further information about Vasquez deeds. It
took me quite some time to find something. But then, I found this." She said, handing Ace the
paper. Ace read the article and Olivia could swear that her eyes wildened a little. Then, Ace
turned to her gang members.
"This is bad. Really bad." She said, trying to sound monotone but her voice was filled with
surprise.
"This article is about one of Vasquez connections. It says that they were business partners and
long date friends." Ace explained without revealing the partner's name.
"It doesn't help much. Well, at least not for us except one." She said.
"To Olivia" Ace said turning to face Olivia. "It's...I can't fool you. It's..." Olivia's heart raced, her
mind could only think of one person that mattered to her. It couldn't be him, It shouldn't be
him.
"Your father"
Chapter 8
Olivia's body froze. She couldn't move, she couldn't breath. Then, the air wouldn't come to her
lungs, her heart raced, her mouth dried, she felt like her head was spinning. She asked herself
a lot of questions, but with all she was feeling, she couldn't even catch her breath to think. Her
legs started to give in, and she began to feel weak, like she was going to faint.
"Oh My God!!! She's hyperventilating!" Someone screamed, Olivia didn't recognize who did it
though, her consciousness was long gone.
---
Olivia woke up to a concerned Trinity. The only thing she noticed at first was that she was back
to her room with Trinity by her side, her eyes never leaving Olivia's. Olivia felt a little
confusion, but it didn't last long, she realised what had happened and why she was laying on
her bed.
"Y-yeah..." But it was a complete and uter lie. Olivia wasn't fine, she just discovered that her
father had connections with criminals. And the worst of all? She was being a pretty hypocrite
person just thinking about how it was so dangerous and low of her father.
But still...she couldn't believe. A part of her couldn't believe what she heard. A part of her
didn't want her father to associate with that kind of people. But again, she was being a
hypocrite!! SHE was involved with that kind of people. Olivia herself decided to join them. Her
father's sins couldn't even compare to hers. He just was an associated, she was a member.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Trinity asked, refering to what they discovered. Olivia was
about to shake her head, but her mouth worked faster.
"I can't belive it" She whispered. "I can't believe it!.", this time her voice was louder. "I can't
believe it!!" Olivia was almost screaming.
"Calm down, calm down!" Trinity holding Olivia arms and joining her on bed. Olivia realised
how crazy she looked and stopped and looked down. Then, she looked up again, this time
facing Trinity.
"My...my...f-father" Olivia tried to talk but the sobs were coming at her throat. She hugged
Trinity, and for the first time in weeks, she cried as hard as the first time she arrived at the
house.
"It'll be okay. Don't cry please." Trinity reassured Olivia, making "sh" noises with her mouth.
Minutes later, Olivia decided to stop her cries and talk with her friend. Crying wouldn't take
her nowhere.
"I-Is m-my fa-father ok?" Olivia asked, but she knew Trinity couldn't answer that.
"I...I don't know." Trinity said. "But he might be ok Liv. Look, I don't know how he's feeling right
now or how he is doing. Aside from, maybe, feeling worry for you but..." She tried to comfort
Olivia, it just reminded the latter what she had done and how she never contacted him again.
"I know that he's worried about me!!" Olivia said with an annoyed voice. "I...I just...wanted to
know why he was partners with someone like that Vasquez guy."
"I'm sorry, I'm not the right person to comfort another." Trinity didn't know what to say.
"Sorry for snapping. I'm just...so confused!!" Olivia said, trowing herself at the pillow. "I know I
sound like a complete hypocrite but why is my father partners with criminals?? It's
dangerous!! I'm afraid for his life. If he doesn't take care, he'll end like..."
"Nikki's father?" Trinity said before Olivia could finish. "Olivia, your father is a smart man, if he
wasn't, he wouldn't be at the top right now. He might know what he got into. Besides, aren't
you involved with that kind of people too?" Trinity raised a eyebrow
"I know! That's why I'm being a hypocrite!!" Olivia huffed. The tears that filled her face before,
dried and went away. The only thing left on Olivia's mind was doubts and questions. Then, she
began to wonder and remember. And finally, she realised something.
Wait a minute... My father has connections with Vasquez's gang, therefore Vasquez's partners
might know about him. And that night...that night the handsome guy told that he was looking
for me... Does it have some kind of relation??
Her thoughts were interrupted by a door opening and showing Ace and Nikki about to enter.
Olivia turned to look at them and so did Trinity. Nikki almost ran to Olivia, hugging her.
"Oh My Gosh!! I was so worried about you! Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She bombarded
Olivia with questions. "I was here before you woke up but Ace said that you needed some
space, she just let Trinity stay."
"I'm fine right now. I guess it was just a overreaction." Olivia said, trying to calm Nikki's
worries.
"Maybe it wasn't just that. You were exhausted from the training session, and receiving such
news, it destroys anyone." Ace said, maybe trying to comfort Olivia, but her expression was as
hard as a rock.
Olivia just nodded, understanding Ace's efforts. Like Trinity, she wasn't a person to seek
comfort with. Then, Olivia remembered what she was thinking about before Ace and Nikki
arrive. And before she could realise, her expression showed a little shock. Ace, Nikki and Trinity
noticed that and frowned.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Ace asked, one brow raised.
"I-I'm. But I want to talk with you Ace." Olivia said, then looked at Trinity and Nikki. "Alone"
The pair frowned again, but didn't object. After they were already out, Ace seated on Olivia's
bed.
"What's bothering you? I can tell that you are hiding something." Ace asked. Olivia just stared
at her for a moment, Ace sure knew how to read someone's mind.
"You know that night when the gang was attacked?" Olivia asked and Ace nodded. "So... "
Olivia was trying to find words, she was afraid that if Ace discovered, she would be furious.
"When Trinity and I were running away, a boy approached us and said that he was looking for
me." Olivia said quickly.
Ace's face didn't change. She wasn't giving any sign of anger, or sadness, or surprise, or any
other emotion. Suddenly, a huge silence filled the room. Olivia hated when it happened, she
never knew what Ace could say or do.
"Look, I'm sorry for don't telling your earlier but..." Olivia began to speak but Ace cut her off by
saying what made Olivia's eyes wilden.
"H-how did you know??" Olivia was perplexed. Ace laughed a little
"You weren't the only one at the scene you know? Trinity told me." Ace said, stating the
obvious. Olivia faceplamed, she couldn't believe she was that stupid to think that Trinity didn't
told anyone about that man.
"She told me who he was too." Ace said, chuckling a little, amuse with Olivia's naive thoughts.
Olivia frowned, she didn't know who he was, Trinity didn't told her. But again, she was the
stupid one for never asking.
"Tristan Vasquez." Ace answered and it surprised Olivia. "He is the son of Ricardo Vasquez. The
man I killed."
Chapter 9
Olivia's mouth fell, it seemed like all she could do that time. Only wild her eyes and open her
mouth. She just heard that that man she developed a little "crush" on, was the son of the man
that, even after death, managed to mess people's life. And not only that, but Tristan being the
son of Vasquez, immediately linked to her father. If her father was partners with Vasquez, then
Tristan might've known about Olivia.
"D-do you think that unkn...I mean, Tristan being the son of Vasquez, is someway linked to my
father and me?" Olivia asked Ace about her doubts. Ace nodded.
"Yeah, it might be it. Tristan and his father were really close. It amazes me that he didn't take
over his father's gang and business when he died. But this is not something to worry too much
now. The most important thing is to know how he knows you, and why he was looking for
you." Ace replied, her face making a little scowl, but not a menacing one, a pensative one
instead. Olivia also decided to think about the situation, but Ace beat her to it
"Since Trinity told me about Tristan, I have been wondering..." She trailed. "I thought more
about that attack weeks ago. And to be honest, it was a rather reckless one, too sudden.
Besided, they didn't even stole something or tried, they seemed to be looking for something.
But I and the girls didn't let them look further. Maybe... they were looking for you." Ace said.
Olivia couldn't do anything except to agree with her.
"And then, Tristan found you. That's why when you and Trinity ran away, the attackers started
to leave as well. Only a few remained, and that was when Mo, Ray and Nikki escaped. It's all
linked!!" Ace said.
"So, you were left by yourself when the marjority ran away?" Ace just nodded her head. Olivia
felt like a weight was taken from her shoulders, Ace was okay alone at that house, he had dealt
with everyone. It caused her to admire even more the gang leader. because she was able to
beat some people alone.
"Well, but even if we figured somethings out. We still have a lot of questions to answer. But
the easiest right now, is to answer how Vasquez allie knew that you were with my gang." Ace
said with a serious tone. "I think we should go and ask the girls if they have some information."
Olivia said a quick yes and the two went downstairs. But before that, Olivia pulled Ace's arms a
little and asked something.
"Ace, you know, if you knew everything this entire time...why didn't you talk to me about it
before? I mean, if you did, we already would have taken our investigations further." Olivia said,
Ace just turned her face, smirking a little.
"If they didn't do anything until now, so it might not be someone to take like a emergency."
She said. Olivia nodded, understanding Ace's point. But, she heard Ace saying one last setence.
---
Downstairs, the girls were all scatered around the living room. Mo, Nikki and Trinity were
watching something on TV while Ray was on a corner reading some books. Olivia noticed that
Ray wasn't just distant from her, but from the other gang members too. She was always lonely,
doing something in the corners of the house. The only one she truly talked to was Ace.
"Guys! Now I want your attention please!" Ace spoke with authority, that was how she spoke
whenever she wanted to make a announcement. All of them turned their heads Ace's
direction.
"So, me and Olivia thought about the whole incidents that happened weeks ago. And we found
some answers. The thing is: the son of Vasquez knows about Olivia's whereabouts. That's why
the attack happened, they were all looking for her." Suddenly, the atmosphere of the room
changed. Mo, Trinity and Nikki had angered expressions on their faces. Except for Ray, who
was just looking at Ace, blank face on.
"So is this why we were attacked and had to leave??" Mo angrily asked. Ace nodded with a
brow raised, like it was obvious.
"But it's not everything. Since we now know that Olivia's father was associated with Vasquez, it
can be easily linked to why Tristan and a gang were looking for her. We're now left with this
question: why is someone looking for Olivia? Aside from her dad."
"Maybe it IS her father. After all, he was partners with Tristan's father right?! So most likely he
wants to find Olivia through him." Trinity said, her answer was a very logical one.
"Yeah, but even if it is very plausible, it's just a theory. If he REALLY wanted to take Olivia back
to her father, he wouldn't play games with you Trinity." Ace said, it bothered Olivia even
more.
"But...I have one question!" This time it was Nikki. "How did Tristan knew Olivia's location?"
"That's exactly the point. This is the easiest to find out, so we should just gather information
from the person who told all about Olivia's location."
For some minutes, the girls were in deep thought. Olivia wondered if somehow the another
gang had cameras around the house. It seemed impossible because Ace was too smart and
careful to let this happen. Their current house had cameras everywhere, just to monitor who
entered and exited the house. Ace herself monitored everything.
"The boys." The girls heard Ray say. She had that monotone voice of her on, but she actually
had a point. "The boys that were in that neighbourhood with us, where Ace killed Vasquez. I
noticed one of them had a tattoo. A gang tattoo that showed he belonged to some business."
She said.
Olivia remembered the boys of that day. They were smoking something and talking, they were
also scary looking and just after Olivia looked at them that day, she looked away. After that,
she didn't see them anymore, but they might have witnessed the murder as well.
"And you just tell us now??" Ace said with a irritated tone. It scared Olivia, she was afraid for
Nikki. The latter didn't seem so fazed though.
"C'mon Ace, like I knew it would turn out like this." She replied
"But you should never, EVER speak with other people when we are doing business." Ace said
through gritted teeth, showing her irritation. This time, Nikki seemed a little shaken.
"But it doesn't matter now, I'll talk to you later." Ace replied to Olivia's relief. "But answer me
Nikki, did he told you about something? If he was on a gang? Do you remember what his
tattoo looked like?"
"Well, he didn't say anything to me. We just talked a little before I went off to join you. But I
saw what kind of tattoo he had, when I did, I was sure it belonged to a gang. It even had some
letters imprinted."
"And...what's the draw?" Mo asked, annoyed with all the situation. First because the attack,
second for the reason of it. And third, for her dumbass partner that couldn't keep her legs
closed.
"A snake with a gun and cigarrete. Below, it read, TSS" Nikki said, that instant, Ace realized
something.
"The Smoking Snakes." Ace said "They are a minor gang who deals with drugs and ilegal
weapons. I guess they were associated with Vasquez. It won't be difficult to find them." She
completed. Olivia noticed she was thinking about something, like scheming a plan.
The girls's eyes wildened, Olivia's were the most of them all. Ace just chuckled at that reaction.
"One day or another she will have to put her train into action. She's doing well till now, and
this mission is not so hard. She can handle it. Can't you Olivia?" Ace turned to Olivia, that old
daring voice and look of her face were on. This time though, Olivia didn't know if she accepted
or not. Before some thought, Olivia finally had her answer.
"I'm in"
"So now we will train a little more. In 2 days, you'll do your first mission as a gang member."
Chapter 10
2 days later...
It was a sunny morning, Olivia could hear birds chirping outside her window. It almost made
her forget about what would happen some hours later. She would go on her first gang
operation. The thought of it made shivers run dow Olivia's spine, she wasn't sure if she wanted
to go, or if she would be able to do it. After all, she couldn't even fire a gun properly, even if
she trained everyday.
Flashback:
Olivia was on the guns hangar. For an hour, she was trying to shoot the target on it's chest, but
only managed to shoot other parts like legs and arms, or the ceiling and the floor. For some
reason, Olivia couldn't bring herself to shoot at the target's important living parts.
"If you can't even shoot to kill, how can you survive on a operation" Ace asked her. "In
dangerous situations, sometimes you'll have to do what you don't want to..." Olivia sighed. Ace
was talking about killing someone
"I can't. I can't kill someone, it's useless to teach me." She lowered her head, trying not to
show her sadness. But she wasn't sad because she couldn't kill someone, in truth she was sad
because if she couldn't kill, she would have to leave. Which was kind of funny because weeks
ago she would jump at the first change of running away.
"Are you giving up?" Olivia turned to look at Ace, she couldn't find the words to answer.
"Look, I know I was harsh when I said you had to kill someone sooner or later, but I won't back
with my words. I'm telling you the truth." She said, making Olivia uneasy, lowering her head
again.
"BUT, if you can't bring yourself to kill someone, doesn't it is a good trait??" Olivia turned to
Ace, the latter was similing.
"You know, I can protect you. Whenever you find yourself in trouble, I'll be there to help; And
so will be the girls, even the ones you're not close. You can fire a gun Olivia, you just can't aim
it at people's lives. As a gang leader, it's shameful. But as a person, it's wonderful."
Olivia's cheek reddened, Ace always found a way to comfort Olivia. Even if it wasn't comforting
at all. So she decided to give her all on the mission.
End of Flashback
That promise she made to herself was one Olivia knew that couldn't be fulfilled. But instead of
letting all her worries took control of her mind, Olivia remembered she had a confident. A
confided that she had not confided something for weeks. Her diary.
Diary Entry:
Dear Diary, it's been a long time huh? Actually, I tried to write on you few days before I was
kidnapped, but failed to do so. Happened so many things on those weeks I didn't write on you,
I don't know how to begin. But I guess I'll begin telling about my kidnappers...
Then, Olivia wrote about all her experiences. She told her diary about her kidnappers, the
attack, her joining the gang, the training, the truth about Vasquez...
...and now, tonight I'll go on my first operation with the girls. I'll admit, I'm afraid. Not just
afraid of dying or something worse, but afraid of having to shoot and kill someone. Ace said
that she would protect me. I believe her. But I know that someday, I'll have to do something I
will deeply regret.
You might think I'm crazy, and maybe I am. After all, it was me who decided to join the gang,
and if I can't handle the things that it envolves, then I should've just said no and left. But
there's no going back for me. There wasn't a way of going back since I witnessed that murder.
Since I ran away from home.
Right now I have to say goodbye one more time, maybe it's my last one.
---
It was finally night time. The girls were all preparing to go and invade The Smoking Snake's
house. Trinity tracked were they were living at the moment. Like Ace said, it was easy to find
them and to overcome their security system.
"Ok girls, do we have all our weapons with us?" Ace asked the girls. They all nodded. "Trinity,
do you know how to turn off the cameras and alarms?"
"Yes, we'll have thirty seconds to disarm everything, so is better just me and you to enter first.
The other girl will wait, watching if something happens or someone wakes." Trinity replied,
adjusting some tools on her belt. Ace just nodded at that.
Olivia's heart was racing, she could feel adrenaline taking over. She tried to remain calm an
passive, that way she could do better at the operation, trying to forget she might have to kill
someone. She zipped up her black hoodie and adjusted her gun on her belt, all the girls were
wearing black because it mixed and made them harder to find.
"Now, take this lanterns with you, just turn on them when we know it's safe ok? Lights on the
house can alarm some people and make them wake up." Ace said, handing small lanterns to all
of the girls.
"Do all of you remember the plan?" Ray asked, to Olivia's surprise. "Let's review it though,
we'll infiltrate on TSS's house, kidnap the informant, take him to our hide out that is closer to
that house and interrogate him. It's simple, easy and fast. Please try your best to NOT screw
things." The last sentence was spoken while Ray's eyes were on Olivia. Olivia understood what
she meant by that.
"Nikki, since Trinity is in charge of the alarms, you'll have to stay by Olivia's side. It's her first
mission so she might need some help." Ace said, as if replying to Ray's brief speech.
"Ok boss!" Nikki said, then she turned to Olivia and gave a warm smile. Olivia returned it,
"Let's go!!" Ace said and they went to the cars.
---
The ride to the gang house of Smoking Snakes left Olivia on edge. The adrenaline raising each
mile the car made. Nikki, who was beside Olivia on the back seat, noticed Olivia's
worried/firghtened expression. She held her hand, squeezing it slightly and whispered.
"Don't worry, everything will be okay. I'll protect you" Nikki said, trying to reassure Olivia.
They arrived at Smoking Snakes neighboorhod. To don't raise any suspicions though, the gang
parked the car far from the house's gates. Ace was the first one to speak.
"We will now go to enter the house, so be very careful. Even if they are a minor gang and
minor experience, we still are under pressure here. Me and Trinity will lead the way. In the
house we have three ways of get away, from the front door, the back door or the door on the
basement. Mo will guard some of the rooms, they are all close. Ray will guard the back door,
our best get away. The rest will come with me to help carry Carson." She explained.
The six girls approached the Smoking Snakes house. Olivia noticed it was a very huge, beautiful
one. To a gang that wasn't so experienced, they sure had money. But all gangs she had
met(only two though) had nice hide outs.
Like planned, the first ones to enter the house were Trinity and Ace, Olivia counted the
seconds, feeling the camera's sensing her every move.
17...
18...
19...
20...
21...
Suddenly, the camera's lowered, Trinity had disarmed them! Olivia sighed with relief, now it
was time to enter the house. And the relief was gone with a blink of an eye. When she and the
rest entered the house, she deparated with some luxurious furniture. The Smoking Snakes
really liked to show off.
"Ray, go to the back door." Ace whispered, Ray obeyed and with a riffle on her hands, she ran
to the back of the house. Then, the girls walked to stairs where the rooms were located. Mo
was the first one to go up, aiming her weapon in case of danger. When upstairs, Olivia saw a
hallway full of doors. There were three on the left and four to the right totalizing seven
possible persons living there.
"Mo, you know what to do, stay here on the stairs and warn us if something happens." Ace
commanded again, making sure everything went as planned.
Now it was time for the kidnapping fase, Trinity lead the way to the room were Carson slept,
she had discovered it in less than one day. It was easy since one gang they had connections to,
knew the ways of that house. They opened the door, revealing a sleeping Carson. Olivia felt at
the same time relief, worry and fright. She was right behind Ace and Trinity but side by side
with Nikki, who was in "charge" of her. It gave her a little feeling of security, but she knew
something was off. Everything was going too easy, too well. Almost like a trap.
The four girls entered the room, Ace was about to chloroform Carson but she was interrupted
by someone clapping their hands. Everybody froze. Carson woke up.
"Hahaha, I knew it!! I guess what Tristan told me really was of help. But I have to admit, to a
gang like yours, it was a bit late wasn't it?" A man stood on the doorway. A huge smirk
plastered on his face. He was a very scary and buff man, with the same tattoo Carson had on
his arm. His blad head revealed a few more cobra tattoos.
Olivia didn't know what to do. She was frozen, a reaction that she pulled everytime she was in
danger. She turned her eyes a little, all the girls were now with their guns aimed to the bald
man. Carson, who was still on his bed, quickly grabbed his weapon below a pillow. Ace turned
her gun from the bald man to him.
"Aww, how cute. Everyone threatening everyone. It almost makes me laugh." The man said,
without a weapon on his hands. Olivia wondered how he could be so confident in a situation
like that.
"How did you find out we were going to invade your house?" Ace asked.
"Tristan warned me about your possible upcoming plans." He explained, it made Trinity, Olivia
and Nikki frown except for Ace. "And yes, I know about all this girls drama and all." The man
looked at Olivia, checking her up and down. "Not bad, but I could do better." He said. Olivia felt
disgust run through her spine, she finally found the courage to aim her gun at him as well. It
only made him laugh though.
"The kitten has claws I see. But you won't dare to shoot me. I know things you want to know."
He said.
"Yeah, but you're not the only one. Carson also know about it." Ace replied, gesturing to the
man on the bed besides her. The bald man just shook his head and tsked
"No, Carson doesn't know a thing. He told me about the murder and the girl the same day. So I
decided to contact Tristan about what happened, and told him you kidnapped a girl. We had a
brief talk about his plans, and he said I could join him too if I wanted. That way I could finally
make my business really successful. And now I'm the only person in this room that knows
about the girl's case." He revealed.
"What do you want?" Trinity asked, she could sense that he wanted to do some kind of trade.
"Lower your guns please." He told the girls. They hesitated but obeyed his order.
"Now tell you red haired partner to go downstairs, and wait for our arrival. We all you do the
same."
Ace nodded and through the comunicator she said to Mo to go downstairs. The bald man did
the same to his gang members and lead the way to all of them to go downstairs and talk.
The atmosphere couldn't be more intense. Olivia could feel everyone's eyes on her and the
girls, now that the lights were on, she could see everything properly. The living room was really
nice, with modern furniture and mobiles, and a TV with a screen so big it almost occupied the
whole wall. She looked at the boys too, they were all tall, broad and buff. Some of them had
beautiful features, but the marjority was just plain scary. All of them had guns on theirs hands.
They weren't aiming it, but Olivia could sense that sooner they would.
"So, now that we are all here let's begin with the business shall we?" The bald man said.
"What are you planning, Sykes?" Ace spoke, finally revealing the bald man's name. Sykes
chuckled a little and looked at Olivia.
"It's simple. I want the girl. In exchange, I'll tell you what Tristan had in mind." He said, Ace just
laughed at that.
"Ha! You know that it's a unfair trade don't you? Are you becoming mental ill or are you just
stupid? I would never trade one of my members for a information." Ace mocked Sykes, who let
a low growl out of his mouth.
"But believe me, you WILL want to know. After all, it can be of a big help to you and your gang.
And when all of this ends, you'll manage to make it alive. So I guess it's a good trade after all."
This time, Ace growled. She turned to Trinity, as if expecting if she had an answer to solve the
problem. Olivia trembled a little, afraid of what Trinity could do.
"Let's change that deal a little. We hand over Olivia to you, after you tell us Tristan's "amazing"
plans. Well, if it's of help to us, of course." Ray said with her expressionless face.
"You are in no right to negotiate something with me here girls" Sykes said. "Hahaha, I bet you
underestimated me and my gang no? We are in number advantage. Now choose. Give me the
girl willing and get out of here with some information, but without pride. Or don't give me her
and all of you die."
Olivia looked to Ace, who seemed in deep thought. She probably was scheming some scape, it
calmed Olivia to some extent.
"Okay, you can have her." Ace said, pointing towards Olivia. Olivia's body hardened, she
thought how could Ace do something like that to her. Ace promised that she would protect
Olivia. But then. she remembered what Ace had said that time on the balcon.
"Ruler number one from this world girl: Never trust anyone"
Olivia should've listened and learned from it. She realised she was the same fool who ran away
from her home.
"Excelent!!" Sykes said, commanding one of his pals to grab Olivia and bring her to him. Olivia
tried to fight the man's grip, but after she saw Ace's serious face, she remembered what had
happened and stopped fighting.
"Hey, what are you doing?? Are you really going to let him have Olivia??" Trinity screamed at
Ace, clearly displeased. Nikki was the same, she turned to Ace glaring at her. Olivia thanked
them for it. But Ace just smirked at them, which strangely made them just shut up and stay
still. Now not even her so called "friends" were defending Olivia. She didn't know what hurt
the most, Ace's smirk just worsened it all.
"Now I'll tell you the plan..." Sykes began to speak, but Ace cut him off
"I don't want to know about it. I don't have interest, just keep the girl and let me leave." She
said.
Then, Olivia noticed something, or better, someone. Ray. She was hiding behind the wall next
to Sykes, ready to attack him at any moment. How could she just forget about her?? Ray was
at the back door, Sykes might have not known about her since she was the only one who didn't
go upstairs. And Olivia finally realised, it must have been a plan. Ace may not had have
betrayed her.
"Hahahaha, if you say so...you loss. This is actually so funny, the great White Trigesses running
away with their tails between legs. Just because you amused me so much, I'll let you go." Ace
glared at him, so did the other girls. They walked towards the door, The Smoking Snakes's
members and Olivia were watching them intentily, but clearly they had let their guards down
because right before the girls reached the doorway, Ace turned to them and said.
"Ray, now!"
Ray jumped at Sykes's direction, holding him by his neck and pointing her gun to his head.
Soon, all the people on the room, including Olivia, were aiming their guns at each other. There
was no way out of that mess, it someone shoot, a chain of shoots would start leading to the
death of everyone in that house.
"Lower your gun! Everyone, drop them far away. Or I'll shoot him." Ray threatened. The gang
members hesitated, not wanting to risk their own lives, even for their leader. Nonetheless,
they obeyed, percepting that there was no way out of the trap. Everyone, including the White
Tigresses, put their guns on the floor. Except for Ray, who still had her gun pointed to Syke's
head.
"Now you'll all be good and let us leave, or else..." She warned, closing the gap of her gun and
Sykes's head. She montioned to Olivia to follow her and they walked with Sykes on Ray's grip
towards the door. Olivia finally felt herself calming. This was all a big plan, only Ace was able to
scheme such a masterpiece.
But for a second, Ray failed. While loosening her grip to run away with the girls, Sykes took
advantage to kick her and catch her gun. He then aimed at Olivia, a crazy look on his face.
"If I won't have her, nobody will. Even if I die!!!" He then shoot at Olivia, but the bullet didn't
hit her. Instead, someone put themselves on the way.
"NIKKI!!"
Olivia screamed again and again looking at Nikki's body on the ground. Ace took a small knife
out of her jacket, she stabbed Sykes, letting him fall. Then, the girls all got out before the gang
members could attack them. Mo and Ray carried Nikki's body. All Olivia wanted was to cry, but
she held her tears because it wasn't a situation to let her emotions take in. She had to run. The
Smoking Snakes didn't take long to begin chasing them, they shot at the girls a few times, but
didn't manage to hurt them because of the distance. After a few minutes of running away,
Olivia and the gang entered the car.
"What are we going to do??" Trinity asked, holding a uncounscious Nikki on her arms, the
bullet hit her on the chest, maybe at her heart. She needed serious help.
"We'll have to call Chambers, I think Nikki will have to go through a surgery and he knows what
to do." Ace replied. Finally safe on the car backseat, Olivia looked at Nikki. Her body seemed
lifeless, unlike the usual Nikki, who was full of life. Olivia couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
Nikki had took the blow that was supposed to hit her, this made Olivia want to cry harder.
Suddenly, she felt a hand caressing her's.
"Don't cry, everything is going to be okay." Trinity said, a little smile plastered on her face. But
Olivia could feel something wrong, in her eyes, Trinity showed her true emotions. And this
made Olivia realise that things could not be so okay as Trinity told. After taking another glance
at Nikki, Olivia turned to Trinity.
"Was she shot before?" Olivia asked. With a pensative look in her eyes, Trinity shook her head.
"No, she never been shot before. Nikki may look like a cheerful flirt, but she's actually rather
cunning. Like she explained to you before, she was able to take down a gang leader." Trinity
replied, it made Olivia's heart ache more. Percepting Olivia's change, Trinity quickly spoke.
"But, it's rare." She said, Olivia frowned. "It's rare that she made something as reckless as
taking a bullet for someone else. She never talks about that, but I can see how she might
treasure you. Even though you are with us for such a short amount of time." Trinity tried to
reassure Olivia, and it almost worked, but Nikki's life was in fatal danger, so it didn't help
much.
---
"Bring her to the surgery room, we have to take off the bullet NOW!!"
A middle aged man spoke when the girls entered a house. This house looked more like a
hospital than anything, so Olivia wondered if it was actually a "mini hopsital" for gangs. The
thought sounded ridiculous though. Ace let the man and his assistants carry Nikki for the
surgery, then she told the others that they had to seat and wait while she was going to solve
some matters. Olivia seated on one of the chairs of the waiting room, right beside Trinity. Ray
and Mo were far apart from them, each one seemed to be sulking on a corner.
"What place is this?" Olivia asked looking at her surroundings, it really did look like a hospital.
"This is Doctor Chambers emergency attendance house, he created this so he could help the
people that he had ties to. You know, "that" kind of people like us, who help him to grow on
his business, and can't attend a regular hospital.." She explained, Olivia's mouth formed a little
"o", she didn't know that such a thing actually was true.
Then, Olivia's thoughts switched from the hospital to Nikki's surgery. She remembered where
the bullet had hit her, the area where the heart stays. Even though it wasn't confirmated that
she was shot at the heart, it had a probability. Olivia couldn't stop blaming herself for what
happened, she almost wished that the bullet hit her instead of her friend.
Hours passed, it was already dawn. The other girls were sleeping, but Olivia was still wide
awake. And not a single hint of Ace's whereabouts. Suddenly, someone tapped her shoulder,
making she scream a little.
"Calm down, it's just me." Ace said, sitting at her side, opposite from Trinity's.
"Let me gues something. You were awake this entire time, just waiting." Ace stated raising a
brow.
"Yeah..." Olivia only said one word, unable to speak more. In that moment she was back to her
pensative self, spacing out like she was before Ace's arrive. Then, she heard Ace saying
something.
"Are you feeling guilty?" She asked, still lost Olivia only made a confused face.
"I mean...if it wasn't for Nikki, it could be you on that surgery room." Ace explained, looking at
Olivia deep in the eyes, she always made that whenever she wanted to make Olivia think.
"Y-yes I-I guess." Olivia sttamered a little, fazed by Ace's straight foward comment.
"Hmmm, I see." Ace sighed a little, looking down. Olivia noticed a little something on this
action, maybe Ace was just as worried as she was.
"Are you ok?" Olivia said, gathering courage to ask such a question when she already knew the
answer. Ace looked at her, brows raised, the she turned to look at the floor again.
"Actually, don't know. I know that Nikki knew about the consequences of this job, she
promised me herself that if something happened to her, I couldn't regret because she
wouldn't. But...with these circumstances, I don't know if I should worry or fulfill Nikki's wish."
This time, it was Olivia's time to look down sighing. The guilty seemed to increase, not only the
guilty of Nikki, but what she had agreed to do. To become a part of a gang, thus accepting all
it's dangers.
"It's all my fault." Olivia said, tears starting to roll down her cheeks, she covered them with her
hands.
"It's not." Ace said to her, but the answer was the most obvious one Olivia could think of.
"Maybe part of it, but you didn't have guilty of Sykes being a sly bastard and go trying to shoot
you. In the end, it was Nikki's choice. I guess instead of guilty, you should feel loved. Trust me,
it's kind of a honor. Nikki really obeyed my orders to protect you."
Olivia tried to smile at this, but she knew that her heart could only be released if she
discovered Nikki's state. Suddenly, the doctor of earlier approached them.
"Good morning Ms. Hart and..." He looked at Olivia, who answered with her surname.
Werneck.
"Oh, Ms. Werneck. Ms. Martinez's surgery was a success! The bullet hit her on the chest, a
little closer to the heart than we wanted, but we managed to take care of it. She will have to
remain here for a few days just to monitor her and continue with treatment. She's sleeping
right now, but you can go to her room."
"Yes, we will. Show me the way." Ace said to the doctor, Olivia looked at the sleeping girls on
the waiting room.
"And the others? Should I wake them up?" She asked, Ace looked at the girls as well and shook
her head.
"No, they must be tired so let them sleep. Nikki is asleep anyway, we'll only check her out."
Ace said, following the doctor through the hallway, Olivia right behind her. Suddenly, Ace
made a little pause and noticing this, so did Olivia. Then, Ace turned her head Olivia's
direction.
"Before I forget, sorry for giving you to Sykes. I should've told you about the plan B" Then she
turned and began to walk again. In Olivia's face a smile made it's way to her lips.
Chapter 12
Walking to Nikki's room was torture. Olivia couldn't think anything but the fact that her friend
was in a hospital bed, fighting for her life. A battle that she almost won, but she still was under
supervision. Doctor Chambers opened the door to a room. It was plain and simple. With the
bed where Nikki slept at the center. Olivia looked at the sight, her chest tightening.
Approaching the bed, Olivia looked at Nikki's sleeping face. It was peaceful, but if you looked
close enough, you could notice the pain she endured. The pain she endured for Olivia. This
thought left Olivia thinking what would be of her if, instead of Nikki, she took the bullet. Nikki
was strong, a fighter. Olivia was weak, still learning.
"I'll leave you alone for now." Chambers said and got out of the room.
Ace and Olivia remained looking at Nikki. Olivia didn't know if it was only to check on her, or if
the two of them were waiting for her to wake up. Without any word on mind for Olivia to say,
Ace was the first one to speak something.
"I guess I should leave as well. Let you have some time alone with Nikki." Those words
surprised Olivia, Ace wasn't the kind to be sentimental, but she still managed to read Olivia's
emotions like a book.
"They say it's good if you talk with someone when they are on the hospital. And with Nikki's
situation, it's better." Ace patted Olivia on the back. Leaving the room while taking a last glance
at the sleeping girl in the middle of the room.
Olivia turned to look at Nikki again, this time deciding to sit on the chair next to the bed. She
sat on the smooth chair material, her eyes never leaving Nikki's sleeping face. Looking closely,
she could not only see the pain, but the almost lifeless state Nikki's body was in. Olivia raised a
hand, removing a hair lock. She didn't know what to say or do, but she decided to follow Ace's
advice and talk to the sleeping girl.
"Hey...errr...I don't know how to begin so...bear with me." Olivia tried to talk, but it was harder
than she thought. She wondered if it would be harder if Nikki was awake.
"I have something to tell you." Olivia took a deep breath. "Thank you"
"Thank you for protecting me. For cheering me. And above all...thank you for saving me." The
words came out as flowing water, downfalling a cascade. Fast and easy, even thought the
waters delay to reach it. Olivia smiled, a heavy sensation was lifted from her shoulders.
"You know, in the beginning, I thought that you and the others were no good. But I got to
know you, and I still think that you're no good. But even being no good, I'm by your side."
Olivia said before letting a huge sigh escape her mouth. She wanted to tell Nikki how she felt
about the whole situation, but didn't find the words to so.
"I'm by your side, even if I feel like a horrible daughter for abandoning my father. I'm by your
side, even if I'm a weakling and can't do anything. I'm by your side, even if I'm afraid." Tear
formed on Olivia's eyes, she remembered all the things that happened in the past weeks. Her
heart ached, claiming for a break, but Olivia refused and continued to think.
Think about how she thought the world was a wonderful and good place, how she betrayed
and ran away from her father, how she discovered that everything that she ever thought as
true, was false. But even so, she thought how she didn't regret it at all. Because if she didn't do
anything, she would still be stuck on a house. Secure, but stuck.
She whipped her tears, looking at the clock at the wall, it was time to go. She got up and gave
a quick kiss on Nikki's forehead, saying goodbye.
"One more thing Nikki." Olivia turned to the girl, opening the door to leave.
"Thank you for being my friend." Then, she left the room. But Olivia could swear that she saw
Nikki's mouth form a little smile.
---
Two weeks after...
Olivia was returning from her training session, she had improved in some areas. Since the Nikki
incident, she decided that it was definetly time to stop being afraid of fighting, and begin to
train harder. She became faster than she was, stronger, toughter. Even the targets she could
shoot without missing. Anyhow, she changed.
Nikki was still in the hospital, the bullet didn't kill her but caused some serious damage to her
chest area. Like Chambers had said before, she needed monitoration. But the treatment was
going fine so far, so Olivia didn't worry that much. She received daily updates of Nikki's
condition, told by Nikki herself. She had woken up, and each day that passed, her figure was
returning to what it was before. The pnly thing that pained Olivia, was the fact that her friend
was still in that room. Receiving medicine and IVs everyday.
Olivia went to bathroom to take a shower. While showering, she heard someone screaming,
calling another person. It probably was Ace, she had the bad habit of screaming whenever she
needed someone. Accordingly to her, it was easier than search for the person. Getting out of
the shower box, Olivia dried herself with her towel while looking at the mirror.
Her hair outstanding her body completly.
Olivia painted her hair because of Nikki. The latter always wanted to do something with Olivia's
looks because she thought Olivia was too "plain" for a gang member. Nikki told her that
everyone had something that outstood in their looks. She had piercings and tattos, Trinity had
a sidecut and her glasses, Mo had her fiery hair, Ace her whole body with tattoos, and
Ray...well, she was Ray.
"It will be amazing. You'll go from plain Jane to super hot babe. Trust me, the 'three Bs' never
fail." Nikki said through Facetime, Olivia frowned, wondering what the 'three Bs' meant.
Noticing her doubt ,Trinity ,who was by her side explained.
"Black, blonde and blue. It's kind of a sensation to have three hair colors. At least to Nikki."
Olivia suppresed a laugh, finding the idea kind of ridiculous, but looking at a pleading Nikki on
the screen didn't help. She almost wanted to agree with the idea, but to change her hair was
ask for too much.
"Please, do it for me." Nikki pouted. "You owe me one." Olivia and Trinity laughed at that.
In the end, Olivia agreed to change her hair color. So she paintet her hair a dark blonde, bellow
it was black and with a single streak of blue. It was almost funny how she thought that she
would never change her hair no matter what. She even cut it a little, and straightened.
Getting out of the bathroom already dressed, Olivia heard Ace call from downstairs. So she
obeyed the leader and went down, only to find the whole gang(except for Nikki of course) at
the living room. It wasn't a good sign.
"Olivia, I have something to tell you." Trinity said, Olivia's mind filled with questions, answered
by Ace.
Not. Again.
Chapter 13
Immediately all the girls gathered their guns and went to the car. Olivia was more than ready
to defend Nikki against the person who was assaulting her. Olivia knew she owed Nikki.
"Someone broke into the house and now is holding Nikki hostage." Trinity explained, her eyes
on the road. Olivia and Trinity were in a car and Ace, Ray and Mo were in another. That way
they had two forms of escape
They drove fastly to the house-hospital, Olivia was praying the entire time for Nikki's safety.
Getting out of the cars, Ace took the lead like always and ordered the girls.
"Ok, we don't know what we'll face there so we have to be careful. Mo, Ray and I will carefully
check the situation. Trinity and Olivia, you stay behind us." Were Ace's orders.
Olivia restrained her urge of huffing. Ace always treated her like a useless person, no matter
how many hours of training she spent, Ace seemed to hold back whenever they were in a
mission. And she was left with another "babysitter", Trinity. Olivia hated that though, she
wanted to prove her worth.
Mo, Ray and Ace were quick, they checked if they could enter and called Olivia and Trinity. The
five girls entered the building, checking if something was out of place. When they took a closer
look though, they saw that everything was just like it was weeks ago. Clean and neat, which
was strange.
Olivia thought to herself. She couldn't understand what was happening, maybe the others had
a clue but she was too tense to ask anything. The group slowly roamed through the house,
looking for something. Since they found nothing, they decided to keep going. Suddenly, two
armed man appeared. Everybody aimed their guns until one of them spoke.
"You finally came, we were waiting for you. Come with us." He said, walking further away to a
room, behind him was the other man.
Hesitantly, Ace ordered the girls to go along with it. They walked to the room, guns still raised.
When Olivia entered the room, she almost had a heart attack. Nikki was seated in a chair with
a gag on her mouth, two man holding her in place, which wasn't so difficult since she was tied.
Olivia looked the entire room, a few nurses were also seated, but on the floor, next to them
were other two man pointing their riffles at them. But what (maybe) surprised Olivia the most,
was the presence of another man that she knew. Tristan.
Olivia's mouth almost fell. Tristan was right there, in front of all of them, with a smug smirk
plastered on his face. He chuckled a little, leading Olivia to drool over him a little more.
"Hello Olivia, long time no see. By the way, you changed. But I like your new hair." Tristan said,
winking at Olivia which made her blush.
"What are you doing here Tristan? What do you want?" Ace quickly asked through gritted
teeth, glaring at Tristan. He only mocked her though.
"Sorry honey, but I'm not talking with you, I'm talking with Olivia." Was his reply, this made
Ace even more angered.
"I don't have time for childs play Vasquez. So tell me what you want and maybe it doesn't end
up in blood."
"What I want is very simple." Tristan said, his gaze averting to Olivia. Olivia already knew his
answer. "I want her." He said pointing to Olivia
Ace looked at Olivia, her expression was very skeptical. Olivia looked back at her, sending a
look that hopefully would help her in dealing with that beautiful creep.
"Sorry, I won't hand her to you." Ace replied, sarcasm driping on her tone. Tristan only laughed
though, he wasn't afraid of Ace and he made sure of showing this.
"Are you this naive or you're just being stupid for your own sake? C'mon Ace, I know you
better than this. By now you might have already guessed what I'm planning to do."
"And that is..." Ace trailed, raising her brow. Olivia wondered what he was scheming.
"A trade." Tristan said simply. "It's very very simple. You give me the girl right there." He said
while pointing to Olivia. "And I'll give your the girl right here." That time Tristan pointed to
Nikki, Olivia looked at her and saw that she was about to panic. Clearly, Nikki didn't want that
to happen.
"And if I refuse?" Ace asked. The answer came very quickly, Tristan pulled out his gun and
pointed towards Nikki.
Ace went silent. Olivia wished she could read what the leader was thinking, but she realised it
didn't matter in the end. In the end, Olivia's decision was the only that mattered, she owned
her body, so she could make the rules. That was the only way, her debt would be paid. So she
gathered the maximun of courage she could and spoke.
"I'll go with you." This sentence made all the people look at her, stunned by her decision.
Except for Tristan, his smirk didn't waver. Even Ray showed a little of surprise, it was only for a
second though. Maybe less than one second.
"Wise decision. Come here." Tristan said, lifting his hand. But before Olivia could make her way
towards him, Ace stopped her.
"You are not allowed to go." She said glaring at Olivia, it was a rather sharp glare, it almost cut
a bit of Olivia's will to go any further. But she still owed Nikki. Not only that, but Nikki was her
friend, it was her duty to protect her as well.
"Let me go, I know what I'm doing." Olivia tried to complain, it only angered Ace even more.
"Are you really this stupid? You don't know what he'll do with you. So you won't go, you'll stay
right here."
This made Tristan laugh harder, he clearly enjoyed the little quarrel before him.
"Hahaha, it's so funny. I never knew you were this soft Ace, she's just a new member of your
gang after all." He said, then walked closer to Nikki and grabbed her by the arm. "But this one,
she has been your friend for years. Would you really let go of her?"
Nikki squirmed on his grasp, fighting for freedom. But she couldn't because of the ties, she
couldn't talk because of the gag. Olivia's heart tightened, she needed to free Nikki from that
situation.
"Let me go Ace, Nikki is most valuable and useful than me." Olivia tried to convince Ace, the
latter though, didn't seem to pay attention to her pleas. Instead, she asked a question.
"Why are you doing this?" Tristan's smirk wavered a little, he looked at Olivia one more time
before answering.
Revenge.
The word is quite simple. Simple to speak, simple to spell. This word rang over and over on
Olivia's mind.
But no matter how many this repeated inside her head, she couldn't understand it's meaning.
So the only thing that was in her mind besides this words, was a question.
Why?
Olivia knew her father was not a saint, so was her. So why suddenly a man appears before her
and says that he wants revenge against her father? What her father could've done? Olivia
looked at Tristan, then at the entire room. Her eyes roamed every corner and they stopped on
Trinity's eyes. Her friend, her protector. Trinity mouthed something to her, but she couldn't
understand it very well, she guessed it was something comforting. Then, she looked at Tristan
again, this time with one question on the tip of her tongue.
"Why?" The eyes of every being in that room turned to her, even the ones that were too afraid
to look.
"Why do you want revenge against my father? Is this why you want me?"
Tristan chuckled, that husky chuckle that sent shivers through Olivia's spine but at the same
time filled her thoughts with rage. He was more amused than before.
"Look girly, I could go for hours telling you about why I want revenge. If you come with me, I
promise I answer all of your questions, I'm sure you have plenty. But to resume it all, let's just
say that your sweet, caring and loving daddy stole something from my daddy."
Olivia raised an eyebrow, she almost doubted his words. But there was no need to, she knew
what kind of things her father did and his fortune wasn't made just with honesty. Maybe he
stole a huge amount of money from Vasquez and now his son wants to charge the debit. No, it
couldn't be only that. Olivia knew it.
"Please tell me, why do you want revenge?? I understand Ace's case, she killed Vasquez after
all. But why my father? Please tell me!" Olivia pleaded, which only amused Tristan and made
her facepalm, begging was stupid.
"Sweety, I already said it. I'll answer your questions IF and only if you come with me."
"Quit being a bastard, Tristan. Just say it already!" Ace said, her patient was over. Ray walked
closer to her and patted her shoulder, although it was just a simple move coming from a
emotionless girl, it calmed Ace. On the other side of the room, Tristan laughed really hard.
Nikki looked at him with pure hatred, still trying to fight.
"Haha, you sure amuse me. But it's getting kinda boring don't you think? Tell me your decision
already Olivia." Tristan held Nikki in front of him, pointing a gun to her head. "You come with
me or this is the last minute of breath that this beauty has."
"Olivia, you don't have to do this. We can find a way out." Olivia heard Trinity whisper to her,
but she was sure it was a lie. There was no way out without someone getting hurt.
Olivia already knew what she wanted to do, she wanted to go. She needed to go. It wasn't a
matter of salvation, it was honour. Nikki had saved her life, it was time of paying her back. It
was time to show Ace she could be brave so she would turn into the girl she always wanted to
be.
"I will go with you." This shocked the entire room, Olivia's decision came out as harsh and
reckless. Ace looked at her, but instead of seeing surprise or even fright Olivia saw another
reaction. Pride. Ace seemed proud of her.
"No, I'm as sane as I've never been before. Don't worry, I'll be fine." Olivia whispered back,
Ace's smile grew wilder. Trinity clearly was doubtful, but after a quick nod of Ace, she let Olivia
go. Before walking away though, Ace stopped Olivia and whispered.
"You finally grew some balls, congratulations." It made Olivia giggle. Ace's face turned from a
playful one to a more serious and she continued to whisper.
"Remember this: I'll save you." Olivia nodded and hugged Ace, then she turned and gave her
gang a hug too. Even Mo hugged her, and surprisingly, Ray.
Olivia walked towards Tristan, who was still holding Nikki. The latter was still shocked with
Olivia's decision, her eyes shined with pleas, begging to Olivia give up. Then, she was released
from Tristan grip and immediately came to Olivia's embrace. Olivia hugged Nikki, taking off all
her ties and the gag.
"Don't do this, Liv. Please. My life is wothless comparated to yours." Was the first thing that
came out of Nikki's mouth.
"I have to. You saved my life remember? It should be me the one in this hospital. And your life
isn't worthless, you have the same woth as me."
"At least I'll know the truth. I promise, I won't regret it. I don't regret anything. All the
experiences I always dreamed about didn't came out as the same as my dreams. In a way, they
were better. One of the reasons why? you." Olivia hugged Nikki once again, the tears wanting
to leave her eyes. Nikki did the same.
"Please, take care. I..."
"C'mon, let's stop with all this cheesy chit chat. We have to go now Olivia." Tristan interrupted,
he seemed annoyed. "And Ace, if you try to do something now, I'll kill Oliva." He finished,
aiming his gun in Olivia's direction.
Tristan grabbed Olivia's arm, pulling her to his side. While doing it, Olivia's arm was still
connected with Nikki's who said:
"How romantic..." Tristan mocked. Olivia glared at him but before she could say goodbye to
Nikki, a rag covered her mouth covering her world with darkness.
Chapter 15
Olivia's sensations were the same as the first time she was kidnapped. It sounded sick, but they
were almost nostalgic. That is, untill she remembered who was her "new" kidnapper. Slowly
she opened her eyes, taking in her surroundings. Her eyes roamed the room, it was quite nice
in her opnion. The decoration was clean, mostly white, gray and black. She was laying in a king
sized bed in the middle of the room. Suddenly, the door at her right opened. Revealing a
recently showered Tristan.
"So you finally woke up. It's been almost two days." He said, using a towel to dry his hair.
Another one was in his hips, showing his perfect abs. If Olivia wasn't in that situation, she
would've been drooling over him. But she had other business, Tristan said he would answer
her questions.
"Why do you want revenge against my father?" She asked quickly, giving him no time to think.
This question caught him by surprise because the first thing he made was give her a little
"hmm?!" in reply.
"It's something I want to discuss with you later. Now you have to get up and go with me to the
kitchen, I'll give you something to eat." He held her hand.
"I said and I will. But I don't remember saying: "Oh Olivia I'll answer all of your crap when you
wake up from a chloroform dosage that probably will knock you out for one or more days." He
said sarcastically which angered Olivia. Instead of arguing though, she decided to follow him.
She remembered what Ace taught her in one of their training sessions.
"If you're in a dangerous situation where your enemy has the upper hand, don't defy them.
Never. If you do, you won't be considerated only reckless, but plainly stupid. Pick your fights."
Tristan dressed up and ordered Olivia to follow him. Looking at her surroundings, Olivia
realised she was in a huge, luxurious house with several trees outside. Predictably, they were
in the middle of a forest. They went downstairs to a huge kitchen, it had an island in the
middle. In the island were two boys eating something a girl cooked in the oven. The girl was
washing the dishes.
"Hey Tristan, so your girl woke up man!" Greeted one of the boys, Olivia barely recognized him
but she was sure he was in that room inside the hospital house. But something else disturbed
her.
His girl??
"Yeah, say hi to them honey." Tristan urged Olivia, who had yet to understand what was
happening. She woke up from her thoughts when Tristan slightly shook her.
"Hello. Nice hair by the way." One of them said. "My name is Cole, you should remember it
'cause it'll be the next thing you'll be screaming." He winked at her. Olivia felt disgusted by the
guy's behavior, so she just listened to the next one who presented himself.
"Malakai" The other said simply, his aura screamed "Ray". He seemed to be her male
counterpart.
Olivia wavered her hand a little, trying to be nice. Then she noticed Tristan left her side and
was with the girl next to the oven, he was putting food on a plate probably for her. She looked
further at the girl. She was beautiful, but Olivia noticed some marks on her skin. It looked like
scars. The girl turned her head to look at Olivia, her eyes filled with worry towards the latter.
"Here, eat it all." Tristan handed Olivia a plate filled with steak and mashed potatoes. She
seated at the island, besides the two guys, and Tristan seated in front of her. He wasn't eating
though, just looking at her. The atmosphere clearly awkward, Olivia tried to break it.
"Won't you eat? Aren't you hungry?" She asked, which Tristan denied. After that, she regreted
her question. She sounded worried about him, it was too..nice of her. She ate her food until
Tristan decided to talk with her.
"So, now that you're here I want to tell you some basic rules. First one: You don't try to escape,
if you do, you'll be punished. Second: You'll not disregard me or one of my fellows, if you do,
you'll be punished. Third: You'll do as I say, when I say it or you'll be..."
"...punished. I got it." Olivia interrupted him and rolled her eyes. His eyes darkned.
"You. Don't. Talk. Back!" He said to her, his voice threatening. Olivia was a bit surprised by it,
but with all the things she saw and heard in all those weeks, she was used to it. She could hear
Cole laugh a little at it, but with a glare of Tristan he retreated and exited the kitchen. Malakai
did the same, leaving only Olivia, Tristan and the girl who was cleaning.
"Like I was saying...you do as I say when I say or you'll be punished. Got it?!"
"Yes. To tell you the truth I got it the first time you explained, but you just have to be the alpha
here..." Olivia trailed making Tristan angry again. She didn't know she had it in herself though,
but she was liking.
"Haha, you're so funny Olivia. It almost makes me want to high five you..." Tristan replied with
a cheerful voice, then it dropped to a really serious one. "...in the face."
Olivia half smiled, but in her mind his behavior was less than vulgar. It was animalistic. She
couldn't believe such a good looking guy could treat a girl like that. She pitied the girl who was
cleaning, she understood her scars.
"Finished." Olivia said, Tristan nodded and gave the plate to the girl.
"You don't need to finish cleaning, Milly. Olivia here will do the job." The girl, Milly, only agreed
and exited the kitchen. Olivia wanted her to get back, she wanted to know her more. Besides,
she seemed to be her only source of true information.
"It's a little punishment for what you did earlier. And when I say little, I mean it. You wouldn't
want to know how we punish the girls here, so better to behave yourself. Did you saw that
girl's marks?"
"They are slaves, sweety." Tristan said so nonchalantly it terrified Olivia. "Now go wash your
dish."
"I guess...you want answer huh?!" Tristan suddenly said, making Olivia stop washing and turn
to him.
"Why you want revenge? You said it's because my father stole something from yours. What
was it? Money?" She asked straight fowardly but Tristan only shook his head. It made Olivia
more curious.
"It's a long story...but to begin with, your father stole one of the most precious things that my
father had..."
"...your mother."
Warning: Violence and swearing.
Chapter 16
"My...mother?!"
Olivia asked, trying to swallow the information. Tristan smirked a little, as if he already
expected that reaction. It only pissed Olivia though, she glared him and continued to talk.
"But...how?Why?"
"Well, I think it's time for "story time", princess. But not here, you never know who might hear
it." Said Tristan, eyeing suspiciously the whole kitchen.
"Do you think I care? Stop beating around the bush, I want to know now!"
Tristan glared at Olivia and so did she. Deep inside, Olivia was almost impressed with her
sudden behavior. Almost is the key word, Olivia knew that she couldn't bow down to anyone in
that house. The next move of Tristan surprised her though, he quickly grabbed her legs and
lifted her off the ground, her legs were held by him while her upper part was "resting" on his
shoulder going to his back. Olivia trashed and whined, trying to flee.
"I would stop that if I was you. It's useless, I'm stronger, besides, the only way to make me put
you down is by making me fall. Trust me, you won't like that." Tristan replied, walking to his
room.
"That's exactly the point, who cares if we fall? At least I'll not have to be carried by a shithead
like you anymore." Olivia knew she had crossed the line, but she couldn't resist. Instead of a
growl though, she heard a laugh.
"Haha...You're so funny! So that crybaby version of you is definetly gone, I see. Who would
ever thought that such a frail girl would turn this fierce." Tristan dropped Olivia on the bed.
When on the bed, Olivia gave him her most hateful glare.
"I'm not afraid of you, so you can stop giving me that face now." Tristan warned Olivia, who
was now crossing her arms. "Seriously, you look like a spoiled kid who didn't get what they
wanted. Don't worry kiddo, uncle Tristan here will tell the story now." Tristan ruffled Olivia's
hair, making her even more hateful.
"And you are annoying. Want to hear the story or not?" Tristan asked, to which Olivia decided
to agree out of curiosity.
"So yeah...your father and mine were long date business partner. And when I say business, I
mean illegal business."
"Tell me something I don't know..." Olivia muttered, which made Tristan glare at her and made
her retreat, allowing him to speak.
"Well, like I said, you father and mine were acquaintances. They were good friends, one
trusted the other like nobody else. They were so close that if you messed with one, you
messed with the other. Real bro's thing. But the bro code has one rule that they didn't follow:
bros before hos. At least, your father didn't follow it, so he put the hoe before the bro."
"Are you implying that my mother is a hoe?" Olivia couldn't help but ask.
"One: you interrupted me, that's not cool. Two: what if I am?" Tristan retorted, which made
Olivia huff in annoyance.
"Thank babe, but I already knew that." Tristan winked at her and continued to tell the "tale"
"Back to the story...your father didn't follow the bro code. He and my father were in love with
the same woman, in this case, your mother. They even fought a little for her, but in the end,
my dad won, defeating your father who everyone thought had given up."
Hearing that, Olivia thought about the possibility of her mother having a lover other than her
father. She just found that extremely weird, to her, her parents were made for one another.
"But your father didn't give up. So he schemed something and, in the night before my dad and
your mom wedding, he invaded your mom's room, declarated his "undying love" for her, and
she, guiliable as always, slept with him that night. My father discovered the betrayal though,
and ordered that yours was killed. But your father, being that cunning ass he is, ran away with
his lover."
"What..." Olivia's mouth was dropped. She couldn't believe the words she just heard. For what
she knew, Vasquez wasn't a good person, but he didn't deserved that. Her parents weren't
that kind of people, they couldn't be.
"Five years. For five years my father looked for your parents. And when he finally found
them..." Trsitan made a disgusted face. "They were living happily as a family, with a little girl as
their daughter. You." Tristan looked more angry, Olivia backed away a little.
"My father was destroyed when he discovered that, he entered a huge drepession. How could
his best friend steal the love of his life? How? But he wasn't a man of only watching and crying,
no. He took action. But I guess you already know what happened. One night, your saddly
excuses for parents, where returning home from work. The two of them were driving
peacefully the roads, they didn't knoW that only one of them would arrive home alive."
Olivia looked down at that, her father had lied to her and said her mother died due to a hold
up they were in. It was all a lie. Olivia's life was a lie.
"Good story isn't it? It's not like those cliches where the prince defeats the villain and save the
princess. No, instead, the prince is a cheating bastard and the princess is a whore who doesn't
know which person she wants." Tristan taunted Olivia with mocking words. Olivia didn't reply
to it though, she was took sHocked to do anything. But Tristan wanted nothing but to affect
her.
"Tell me, Olivia. How do you feel knowing the truth?" Tristan asked with a eeriely calm voice,
approaching Olivia, who was still looking down.
"How is it to know the real personality of your parents? The nasty part of them? Are you afraid
you become like that too??" Tristan didn't stop, making Olivia face him while holding her chin
with his hands.
"You have her eyes." Said Tristan eyeing Olivia. "Such beautiful eyes. Saddly the sould behind
them is not as beautiful."
Olivia pulled out her face of Tristan's grasp, turning to look away. Tristan turned her face back
though.
"Wanna know a secret?" He asked with a psycho look, Olivia clenched her fist, ready to punch
him. "Call me crazy, but sometime...I wonder how it was. How it was to see such beautiful
eyes, losing their life. How it was to see your father begging for mercy, pleading on his knees to
survive. His desperate face when he looked at the dead whore before him."
That did it. So Olivia punched him in the jaw, making him take a few steps backwards.
"Do you really think you can hit me and run away that easily? I'll teach you who's the one in
charge here." Tristan said, seating on top of Olivia. Then, he began punching and kicking her
while speaking:
"You. Will. Behave" He punched her head, Olivia moaned a little with the pain.
"You know what? I was wrong in asking if you were afraid of becoming like them." Tristan said,
kicking Olivia's legs and arms. "You are just like them. You're just like your mother. A sneaky,
disgusting, WHORE!!"
Again, Olivia's emotinal won against her rational side. She swiftly swung her legs on Tristan's
and made him fall off to the ground. Them, she got up and began to punch and kick him just
like he did to her.
"Don't talk about my mother that way!" Olivia shouted at him, but he was too strong and fast.
Tristan managed to grab one of Olivia's legs, making her fall again and he get up. But instead of
kicking like before, he grabbed her by the arm and put it on her back, immobilizing her.
Then, Tristan dropped her once again on the bed, this time while on top of her.
"And do you want to know what is more disgusting than it?" Tristan asked in Olivia's ear. "Is
seeing it all happen and doing nothing to stop, because you can't! I know it, I was there!"
"Wow, I pity you so much right now." Olivia said sarcastically, making Tristan press her face
against the bed.
"Shut up!! You don't know how it feels!!" Tristan said with sorrow on his voice, it seemed he
wanted to cry. "You don't know how it is to have your mother kill herself because she was
switched for a bitch. You don't know how it is to see said bitch run away with the man you
once called uncle! You don't know how it is to see your danm father cry over such a thing!!"
Tristan was screaming.
For a moment, Olivia truly pitied him. He might be a kid when everything happened. But at the
same time, she didn't pity him, she knew how it was to feel pain. She knew pain very well.
"Oh yeah? If you're saying this, it's because you don't know who I am." Olivia replied Tristan,
who pulled her hair and made her face him from the side.
"I said you don't know a thing about me. You don't know my pain." Olivia said despite the pain
she felt. "I know about pain, I felt it. How do you think I feel about losing my mother at such a
tender age? And being pratically house arrested by your own father? How do you think I felt
when I finally decided to escape, but was kidnapped instead and forced to join a gang? Tell me,
how?"
Tristan let go of Olivia's hair, making her head fall into the bed. He didn't say a thing, nor move.
So Olivia continued her speech.
"And do you want to know what is more disgusting than it?" Olivia said, quoting Tristan's
phrase. "It is to discover about your parents's nasty past, to discover that everything you ever
believed in, was all a lie. And to top it all? Be stuck with the dickhead that kidnapped you and
claims he knows everything about you because he know about your past. It's lovely, isn't it?"
That time, Tristan didn't hold back anymore. He turned Olivia's body to face him and said.
Chapter 17
"Put me down!!"
Olivia trashed around in Tristan's arms, he was carrying her across the hallways to a shady
looking door. He opened it, revealing a room with just a chair in the middle and some weapons
on the walls. Olivia began to panic, she didn't feel that fear for weeks. Tristan swiftly dropped
her on the chair, cuffing her with he handcuffs attached to the chair. Olivia was still trying to
flee but after looking at the tools in that room, she decided to stay quiet. She did not want to
worsen things.
"Now babe, you'll learn to treat me with respect." Said Tristan, grabbing a towell and bucket.
"I know how to respect people. But you, you don't deserve my respect." Olivia replied.
Tristan approached Olivia with the bucket, it was full of water. Putting the bucket between
Olivia's legs, Tristan grabbed her hair in the most painful way he could. She groaned at that,
but kept her cool. Tristan next move was to put Olivia's head inside the bucket of water,
making her drown. He kept pressing her head inside the bucket, after a few seconds, Olivia was
moving around trying to free from Tristan's grasp and breath, but his grip was to strong. Then,
he pulled her hair painfully, making Olivia's head fall backwards, out of the bucket. Hardly
breathing, Olivia still taunted.
"No, but you should enjoy more the water." Tristan drowned her again.
After finishing with the bucket, Tristan walked away to catch something else. Too tired from
the lack of air, Olivia didn't bother in looking at him. Suddenly, he approached her again, but
with a new tool. A blowtorch.
"The fun just began." Tristan said, he then lift Olivia's shirt, showing her belly. Olivia's heart
began to race even faster than the time he brought that bucket.
Without mercy, Tristan turned on the blowtorch and put it closer to Olivia's belly, making her
scream. The pain was unbearable, Olivia cried her eyes out. The flame burned her skin, it
would leave scar, she was sure of that. She remembered Milly, the scar on her body, for how
long she had endured that?
Minutes later, Tristan turned off the blowtorch, much to Olivia's relief. He then uncuffed her,
but instead of doing something, Olivia was too tired from all the pain she endured. So she just
remained on the ground.
"Tired? I hope so, it'll be easier for you to pass out." Tristan said to Olivia, her body hurting
everywhere that Tristan touched it with the blowtorch. Her wrists were hurt from the
handcuffs.
"Are you pleading for me to stop? If so, say it louder, kiss my feet and I may think about it."
Olivia only glared at that, her eyes burning waves of hatred in Tristan's way, he noticed it
though. And was not pleased with it. He grabbed Olivia's arm, pulling her next to him and
slapping her across the face.
"Even after all I have done to you, you still are defying me."
Tristan punched Olivia harder, her body falling to the ground again. He then continued
punching and kicking her, just like he did at the bedroom, but this time it was harder. Without
will to stop, Olivia only remained in the ground, defeated. Too tired from all the pain of before
to react. Just waiting the time she would pass out. Tristan stopped kicking her for a second,
then she kneeled before her, with a small pocket knife on his hands.
He began to carve words on Olivia's back, the pain was so great that after two or three letters,
she blacked.
---
Waking up feeling like trash was something Olivia was used to. She could feel the pain from
the torture, but even greater than her physical pain, was her emotional pain. She felt hopeless,
laying on that ground, in that horrible room, inside that terrifying house. She felt the
hopelessness taking control of her body.
Fear
Pain
Shame
Olivia could feel all of that at once. She feared what they could do to her, if the girls would or
not save her. She felt the pain that Tristan gave her, the pain from the discover of her past. She
felt shame because she was being trained to survive it all, yet she was laying defenselessly on
the ground in her first punishment.
Suddenly, the door opened. But instead of being a man, it was a girl. Olivia could tell by the
scars she had on her arms that she was a slave.
"Are you ok?" The girl asked, approaching Olivia and offering her some help.
The girl led Olivia to a different room, it was big just like everything on that house. Except, it
wasn't luxurious. There were four beds, one at every corner of the room. Olivia saw three girls
seating in one of the beds, but they ran to her just after she and the girl entered the room.
"What happened to her?" One of them asked, she had a long blonde hair.
"Torture room." The girl besides Olivia replied, the three girls all opened her mouths and
turned their gazes to something else other than Olivia.
"We need to nurse her, the boys won't do it." Said the girl that had asian features. She ran to
the only wardrobe on the room and returned with a box of first aid. The girls all helped to lay
Olivia down, the asian looking girl cleaned all of Olivia's wounds. It stung a little, but not to
compare the pain she felt before.
"You passed out right? Do you remember something? Your name? Your birthday?" Asked on of
the girls, she had curly hair that looked just like a cascate of curls falling down her shoulders.
"My name is Olivia Elizabetta Schuman Matolli Werneck and I was born on May 23th."
"Haha, I guess you don't have a concussion. What a long name, but it's pretty." The asian
looking girl reassured Olivia.
After completely nursing her, the girls all presented themselves to Olivia.
"I didn't tell you my name. It's Karen." The girl who carried Olivia to the room said.
"I should tell you mine too, I'm Lisa." The girl with the blonde hair spoke. Noticing that they
were presenting themselves, Olivia looked at the next one who told her the name.
"My name is Izzy, pleasure to meet you." Said the girl with the curly hair.
"I'm Ayame, but for some reason people call me Amy." The asian girl spoke.
"Nice to meet you." Olivia said sweetly, but she noticed that Milly wasn't in that room.
"Err...do you know a girl here by the name of Milly?"
The girls looked at each other, only Karen was brave enough to talk.
"She's one of the other girls. They have several room for their...servants."
"By servants you mean, slaves?" After saying that, Olivia quickly covered her mouth realising
her mistake. "Oh, so sorry! I'm really sorry, I should just shut up."
"No, no. No need for that. We all know what we truly are here. Right girls?" Izzy replied, to
which all the other girls nodded their heads in agreement.
"I'm new here you know..." She trailed and all the girls nodded. They knew she was new to all
of that. "So I have some questions..."
"You can ask." Karen said. Taking a deep breath, Olivia gathered courage to ask.
"Why are you stuck here? How?" She finally asked. Ayame was the first one to speak.
"We are here because we were kidnapped. This gang, kidnaps naive girls to they own sick
amusement. We are kind of lucky though, our job could be worse." Olivia frowned to that
statement, wondering what could be worse than that.
"We are just the house slaves, just like maids. But instead of a good payment, we only receive
insults and beatings, they do with us all they want to. Even...the sexual.." Explained Izzy
"Some are kidnapped and beome prostitutes. Others are expected to help in drug selling."
"Don't you thinkn we already tried, but the gang is extremely strong. They punish us if we
commit the tiniest of errors."
"I can help you with your elope. My gang will save me from this hell, and I'll help you in getting
out of here." Olivia reassured the girls, they looked a little frightned about the possibility.
Ace's POV
The gang leader was restless, she had been planning a way of kidnapping Olivia back but didn't
know how. Tristan could be so many things, but he surely wasn't stupid, he and his father were
known because of their high security places. So it was a lot harder than the last mission. Ace
was pacing back and forth in her room when she heard the door open. It was Ray.
"I thought you knew how to knock before entering..." Ace said sarcastically
"I thought you knew I don't care about that..." Replied Ray. She sat on Ace's mini couch and
crossed both arms and legs. 'Typical move' Ace thought. Ray was by far Ace's best friend in the
whole world, they had faced so much things together that Ace couldn't count anymore. They
knew each other so well that just with one look, one already knew what was going on with the
another.
Ray got up from the couch, walking closer to Ace. She put her hand on Ace's shoulder. That
was how Ray tried to comfort someone, to be exact, only her best friend.
"I don't see you worry about anyone like that in decades. Not even when Nikki was nearly
murdered." Ray said. Ace just looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Kind of cheesy today, are we?" She mocked but Ray just gave her a little chuckle.
"Ace don't deny it. You're quite fond of that girl, aren't ya? You treat her like a little sister or a
daughter. Really, sometimes it's nauseous."
"Haha. No, I don't. I..." Ace paused a little to think about an pausible answer. "...I'm just more
worried than normal because she's not fully trained yet. Besides, it was Nikki choice in taking
that bullet."
"I know you don't mean what you said. You are right about Nikki, but Olivia...I doubt. She can
handle herself pretty well."
"Not enough to survive that kind of world. And that gang. I know all to well how hellish it can
be." Ace hissed, remembering the past. Ray was amused by her friend's moody behavior
though.
"Yeah...I know pretty well. I was there too remember?" Said Ray, lowering her voice. The
memories of their past together not only brought happiness, but scars that couldn't be healed.
"That's why I'm worried. She has not what it takes to survive." Ace continued talking about
Olivia
"And yet you brought her in and almost forced her to join us." Ray retorted. Ache just sighed
and ran a hand through her long hair.
"I know, I made a mistake." Ace admited, but to her surpise instead of agreeing with her, Ray
shook her head.
"I don't think so. Olivia can be many things, you know. Weak, frail, scared, naive. But let me tell
you one thing, that girl has something on her. Inside of her eyes, you can see the strenght and
fiery attitude that begs to flee. She even had the guts to stay when I "threatened" her. And you
know how people usually react to my warnings..."
What Ray said made sense. It was impossible to attack Tristan on his home, so what they had
to do was wait. Wait and carefully set a trap, that way they could save Olivia and even take
Tristan down.
"Sometimes you're a genius. You should talk more..." Ace playfuly said to Ray. She just
smirked.
"Being able to manipulate your words and only say them when necessary is a virtue."
Ace put her arm on Ray's shoulder, now they were even. That was such a strange way of
"hugging", yet the gang leader and the emotionless girl showed more affection by doing that
than if they actually hugged each other.
"I'm going. Good night. Try not to think about Olivia's safety too much." Ray winked and left
the room.
Ace was laying on the bed, thinking about her friend's words. Was she really that worried
because of that girl? Ace liked to maintain a certain distance from her gang members, even
Ray. But since Olivia arrived, Ace felt she wasn't acting the way she used to. She was slowly
opening up more to others. She began to thought about The White Tigresses as not only her
gang, but her family. And what started it all was Olivia, the naive girl surely bonded with some
members.
For years, Ace felt like Elsa from Frozen. The girl who had to be what she was supposed to be.
The girl that had to conceal, don't feel. Don't let them know. Because of what happened in the
past, she created an ice wall between herself and the world. But now, she felt she could be
free again. She felt she could do something right even if it was rough. After all...
Olivia woke up in the four girls's room. She was sleeping with them since the punishment,
there were only four beds, but luckily they found a futon so she could sleep there. Tristan
didn't complain about it, he was being rather could with her and didn't pay attention to what
she did, she became to him just another house slave. Not that Olivia was complaining though,
she just wanted to know why he kept her there. He said the reason was revenge, but as the
days passed by, he did not touch on that subject again. Strange.
"Good morning" Olivia heard one of the girls, Ayame, greet her.
Staying with all the girls was really good to Olivia's sanity, it she didn't have that kind of help
from the others, she knew insanity would take over he mind. Living with them was different
from staying with her gang, the girls seemed so...broken. They were all hopeless, some even
thought they would stay in that hell for the rest of their lives. But others still had hope, they
awaited patiently to day they would escape that place. Olivia heard their stories about being
kidnapped, some were just taken randomly on the streets. Others were fooled, them captured.
"How is your body?" Ayame asked, concerned about Olivia's wounds. Olivia didn't feel pain at
all anymore, her cuts were healing and her purple parts were fading. What bothered her still
was the word Tristan carved on her back. "Respect" it read.
"It's fine, I'm okay." Olivia said. Ayame nodded and looked at the clock on her nightstand. The
boys in the gang didn't give them many things, but one thing they never forgot to give was a
clock so that they could know what time it was and what they would have to do.
"It's time to wake, we have to make breakfast." Ayame said and got up, waking up the other
girls with Olivia's help. When all the girls were up, they took turns to shower and dress.
When they all were ready, they went downstairs to cook. There were some boys awake, but
like always the marjority was still asleep. One of the girls that stayed on another
room, Stephanie was already cooking some eggs while trying to ignore the advances of Ron,
one of the gang members.
"Ooh, more cuties came to jolin us." Ron mocked. "You're always by ourselves, the fantastic
four. But I guess you have a new member, huh?!" He said, looking at Olivia.
All the girls decided to ignore him and keep cleaning and cooking. But Ron was the "assholey
type" and an attention seeker like no other. He nonchalantly walked to Lisa's side, who was
cooking bacon, and whispered on her ear.
"If I remember, you're a good cook, huh?! Can you cook for me?" He flirted with her. Lisa was
the shy type of firl, who had little to no experience. She stuttered everytime a gang boy talked
with her.
"I-I am a-already cooking f-for you." She said. Ron smirked and put a hand on her lower back.
"Don't be shy, honey. I'll help you with whatever you want, and if you are up, we can take this
to my bedroom." Ron shamelessly said. Olivia who was arranging the table looked at him in
utter disgust.
Lisa was not only shy, but rather clumsy. So when Ron started to rub his hand on her back
while whispering sweet nothings on her ear, she couldn't concentrate and ended up dropping
the pan on the floor. Hot bacon plastered through the floor, some hitting Ron's foot. He quickly
got angry with all the pain and screamed.
"Ouch!! You good for nothing bitch!!" He said and slapped Lisa's face, the slap was so hard she
lost balance and almost fell. The other girls were shocked at the scene, Izzy and Karen went to
help Lisa while Ayame cleaned the floor. But Ron was not done yet with his tantrum, he
pushed Izzy and Karen, grabbing Lisa's arms and shouting.
"Did you do it on purpose? You did, didn't you?" He said, hurting her arm. He was ready to slap
her again, but Olivia quickly ran to them and stopped his hand from hitting Lisa's face. His
expression was of a completely stunned person, so were the other girls that were too afraid to
stand up to him.
"Stop!! Can't you see she dropped because you were harassing her? YOU were the one who
did this, don't blame her just because she's weaker than you." Olivia said, her eyes full of rage.
She could feel more people approaching the scene, in the corner of her eye she saw the
amused faces of some guys and the surprised of other servants. One of those guys though, was
the one and only Tristan. He seemed really amused by her fight.
"Haha, so what? She's just a slave, I can do whatever I want. And so are you, I guess I'll have to
put you in your place too." Ron said and tried to punch Olivia, but she dodged and grabbed his
arm, twisting it and kneeling him on his belly. After that, she pushed him and he almost fell on
the floor. Ron growled in rage.
Olivia did what she was training to do in that kind of situations, so she analyzed her enemy's
position and noticed his left foot was hurt from the burn. So when he went for her again, she
went for his weaker side and managed to dodge some of his punches. They began to really
fight on the middle of the kitchen with a whole crowd to watch. Accidentally, Olivia hit some of
the glass cups making them fall and dirty the kitchen. That was like a end of match, because
when she least expected, two buff guys separated the two fighters.
"Bravo! Are you done with playing hero?" Tristan slowly clapped his hands, mocking Olivia's
action. The other gang members laughed at that, the girls only gave her a concerned look. Ron
was far from being amused or concerned though, his rage was vicious.
"I swear that I'll pay you back for this bitch!!" He said, and Tristan only laughed at her.
"Wow, looks like you're on someone's black list, sweetie. I'm not surprised, you're here in a
short amount of time you already picked two fights. It's a record." Tristan laughed once again
making Olivia glare at him. The Olivia from before would just stay frozen and do nothing, but
the new Olivia was brave and didn't back down. Not even to a creeper like Tristan.
"Ha, do you think I'm afraid of him? Or you, for that matter?" She said and Ron growled.
Tristan dismissed him and the others. Now where just Olivia and Tristan in that kitchen. Olivia
had to admit, she was a little afraid of what he could do. Her wounds from the last punishment
were not fully healed, she didn't need other to complete.
"Come with me. I have to show you something." Instead of scolding her, Tristan led her to a
room upstairs, probably his office. He opened a laptop on his desk and motioned to Olivia to
come closer.
"Look." He said, turning the screen to Olivia, showing a person making a video call. What she
saw in that made her heart race increase.
"Dad? Dad!!" Olivia ran to the desk. Looking closely at her father, she noticed he looked a
mess. There were bags under his eyes, his skin was not shiny anymore and the expression on
his face was one of pure defeat. A pang of guilt hit Olivia's chest, she was the reason why he
was like that.
"Olivia!! Are you okay? Did he hurt you? Did you eat? How are you feeling?" Her father said
excited to see her, but at the same time worried. Olivia just smiled, tears were forming on her
eyes.
"Dad, I'm fine. How are you?" Some tears ran through her cheek, she could see her father
crying too. They both were so close to their laptop's scream, almost touching it just in a failed
atempt to feel each other's skin. Olivia's eyes were so full of water that she had to close them.
She didn't want Tristan to see anymore of her desperate state. She could hear her fathers sobs
though, he wasn't afraid to hide.
"I-I-I thought you w-were d-dead. I-I was just so...worried." He wiped the tears. "W-why d-did
you r-ran away? W-was I n-not a good f-father? W-why? WHY?" He cried and so did Olivia. She
couldn't hold back.
"S-so sorry, d-dad. Y-you weren't a b-bad f-father, it's just..." Olivia couldn't finish her speech
for two reasons One was because she was sobbing so hard, the other was because she was
afraid. Afraid of saying a thing that would worry her father and make him sad. She couldn't just
say she was a foolish, naive idiot that decided to leave the house for one day, then come back
with wonderful stories. No, she went back to being what she was before.
A coward.
"I-I want so bad to hug you." Olivia said to her father, who tried to smile for her sake.
"What a beautiful scene..." Tristan said from behind. "It's so cheesy though. Are you satisfied,
Georgie? You finally got to see your daughter."
Instead of saying anything, Olivia's father only looked at Tristan with hatred.
"Give me back my daughter, please!! I do anything, I give you anything!! Please!!" Olivia saw
for the first time her father truly desperate expression. "I-I...b-beg y-you." Her father put his
elbows on the desk in front of him and put his head between hands. He was sobbing
uncontrollably. Olivia felt her heart ache at the sight. Tristan only cruely laughed,
"Don't worry, Uncle Georgie. You'll se your little princess soon." He said. "Now it's time to say
bye bye." Tristan moved closer to the laptop, about the end the video call.
"Please let me talk some more with her!!" Olivia's father said. But Tristan was hard to
convince.
"No, I already said you'll meet. Now bye." Tristan said, before he could end the connection,
Olivia's father screamed to her.
"NO! NO! Olivia, take care, I swear I'll-" Olivia couldn't hear the rest, Tristan already had ended
it.
"How could you!!" Olivia yelled at Tristan. He just grabbed her arm and shoved her aside.
"Are you deaf or just plain stupid? You daddy will be hosting a party next week, it'll be in honor
of his new partnership with Collumbus Enterprise. Me and my gang will be attending, so will
you. That's your chance to see him again." Tristan said.
Olivia was stunned with the opportunity. It was perfect! But something seemed off about
that...she couldn't put her finger in it. Tristan only harshly looked at her and ordered her to get
out and go help the other girls with the house chores. Olivia got out of that office with an
almost bright smile on her face. She had hope...but at the same time, doubts.
That night, Olivia couldn't sleep. She thought about her father and his state, he was a wreck.
She wondered about the party he would host, and what Tristan would do in that. She needed
to know no matter what, with Tristan's hunger for revenge, it was obvious that he was
planning something.
___
Meanwhile...
"Guys, guys!! I got some amazing news!" Trinity suddenly appeared on the living room, with
her laptop in hands.
"What's up?" Mo asked curiously, all the girls stopped eating breakfast to see what was on
Trinity's screen. Since Olivia's kidnap, Trinity spent a huge amount of time trying to discover
ways of sneaking at Tristan's house on her PC.
"George Werneck, Olivia's father, will host a party next week." She pointed to the announce.
"And you know what's the best part? I hacked the list of guests and look what I saw." She then
opened a file with a very familiar name. Tristan Vasquez.
"It's awesome! More than awesome! Triny, that's our chance. We can save Olivia!!" Nikki
shouted and hugged Trinity who laughed a little at her friend's cheerful mood.
"Do you think Olivia will be at this party?" Trinity asked Ace.
"I'm not so sure...But this is as great opportunity for him, we could give it a try." Ace said
truthfully. She couldn't help but to smirk at Ray, her friend was right after all. The right time of
sneaking would come...
"So, girls. Do you have any party dresses?" Ace asked her gang. She was sure that Tristan
would try something at that party, but not with her on the game.
Ace played to win.
Chapter 21
Olivia walked through the huge gang's house halls, ready to sneak in Tristan's office and search
for whatever he planned to do on her father's party. That was a great chance, the boys had
gone out for a mission and only the girls were in the house with the duty of cleaning the entire
place. Obviously, Olivia used that to her advantage. But Olivia's luck ran out, when she was
about to go "clean" the office, she heard some talking downstairs.
"The boys arrived! The boys arrived!!" Izzy was yelling at the girls, running back and forth.
Suddenly, the atmosphere changed, instead of seeing relief on the girls's faces, Olivia saw
desperation.
"Already?!" Another girl asked. Olivia couldn't see her face, but basing on her tone, it was
probably Karen.
Olivia had to think quickly, she didn't expect the boys to be so fast. Not even Ace's gang was
that fast. So she opened the office's door, planning to hide in there. She decided to hide
behind a couch on the far corner of the room besides a book shelf. Not the greatest idea for an
hiding spot but what Olivia needed.
She heard footsteps and voices approaching the office, recognizing one of them being Tristan.
When the door opened, shivers ran through her spine, she knew what awaited for her if she
got caught.
She repeated those words on her mind, trying not to flip out. Olivia took a quick peak at
Tristan and the unknown man, the man sat on a chair, in front of Tristan's desk, Tristan sat the
opposite side of him.
"Yes, it's all downstairs." Then, she heard someone tipping on what sounded like a phone.
"Bring the package to me, I'm on the office." Tristan spoke on the phone.
"Thanks for the help. I'll contact you when the time comes." Tristan's voice sounded overly
suspicious.
"No need. Are you going to Werneck's party?" The other man changed the subject.
"Haha You sure know how to hold a grudge, huh? Get over this already, it's been more than
ten years." Olivia wasn't sure if the guy was a close friend of Tristan, no one dared to speak to
him that way. But that man seemed to be familiar with Tristan's schemes. Then, Olivia heard a
low growl.
"You should go now. Your business here are over." Tristan spoke sternly. Olivia heard the
unknwon man getting up and walking away, slamming the door. That man sure had guts.
Olivia then heard Tristan slamming a fist on his desk, making a noise loud enough to make her
jump a litte. She heard him growl once again and tipping on his phone.
"Where's the damn package??" He asked. Few minutes later, persons entered the room
hurriedly. They showed the package to Tristan, apologizing for the wait. Tristan only grunted,
telling them to place it on a place Olivia didn't know about. She wondered what that package
had. Maybe weapons, or drugs. But something seemed off... but in the end she just lost her
time. Olivia now had to wait for Tristan to exit. So she waited...
...waited.
...waited.
And waited some more.
When she was about to sleep, she heard the sound of a chair. Tristan was getting up. She
heard his yawn and long footsteps directed to the door. He opened and closed. Olivia sighed
with relief, but hey spying skills weren't very good, so instead of looking at her surrounding
first to check if it was safe, she felt too tired and quickly went to the door. Wrong move.
"To hide behind a couch...really?" She turned her head and looked at Tristan's smug smirk.
"What are you? Five?"
__
Chapter 22
"Are you going to do something or just stay there like a scared cat who just got caught?"
Tristan asked. Olivia stared at him in amazement and shock.
"How did you..." She began to ask but was cut off.
"There are some magical things on this room called cameras. By the way, you were under
one." He said and Olivia turned her head to see if there was a camera near her hiding spot.
There was a tiny camera, hidden on the wall.
"See?! I thought you were smarter than that, sweetie. Guess I was wrong..." Tristan said
making Olivia growl at him for that.
"What will you do to me?" She decided to ask, trying to hide her emotions but it was clear the
fear in her eyes. Tristan smirked and walked closer to her.
"You're a very lucky person." He said while caressing Olivia's head. Disgusted, she backed away
a little. "I'm in a good mood today, so I'll just let you go for now." Suddenly, he caressed
Olivia's hair again, but this time he grabbed a ton and pulled, making her hiss in pain. "But
don't forget, you have to respect me. If I catch you making anything remoterly disrespectful to
me or my gang, I'm afraid that you'll not be able to see your precious daddy at the party."
He then let go of her and exited the room. Not wanting trouble, Olivia knew she had to play
Tristan's game for a while, or she would never be able to go to that party. She wondered if Ace
and the girls would be there...
___
The day of the party arrived, Olivia couldn't hide her excitement. Even the others girls noticed
the change on her mood. The others girls and her were just resting a little on the bedroom,
before the guys could ask for some of them to get dressed.
"Do you think this will really work?" Karen asked. Olivia had told all the girls her plan to escape
on the party, that that was a great way of running away. The White Tigresses would help,
obviously.
"Karen is right. Besides, the boys won't leave us alone that easily. I know that, I attented a
party with them before and they rarely lose sight." Milly agreed. She was now acquaintances
with Olivia, not friends though, they just needed to stay together in order to survive that awful
mess.
"And not all of us will attend the party. They just choose two or three to go, four is a miracle."
Izzy completed. Olivia didn't know how to answer the questions. She was as uncertain as them.
There was a tiny possibility...no, huge possibility that things could go wrong.
"Girls...you'll need to trust me. Really, I know it's hard but just trust me, okay? I'll the anything
that I can to help all of you to get out of this place. Tonight, only a few will go with me, but I
promise I'll manage to rescue the rest after." Olivia reassured the girls.
Then, before anyone could say a thing, the door suddenly opened. All girls turned to the
culprit, fear of getting caught planning their escape showed on their faces. Tristan appeared,
holding a box while Malakai held another bigger one. The two men entered the room, placing
the boxes on the floor.
"Alright girls, now I'll choose who's going to the party. These are the things the choosen ones
will need." He motioned to the boxes. Then, he looked at all of them, his eyes landing on
Olivia's. He smirked at her and winked.
"Lisa, you'll go." He said pointing to Lisa. Olivia raised an eyebrow at that, Lisa was a wise
choice for him, she was obedient. Tristan looked at Olivia again, his smirk widening
"Ayame, you too." He said. Olivia began to doubt if he would choose her. Maybe he was just
toying and would say her name for last, just to tease.
"What about me? You said you would take me with you." Olivia got up, angry at Tristan's
choices. He just laughed harder at the girl, his intentions fulfilled.
"I changed my mind, sorry honey." He said then turned to exit the room. Olivia ran to him and
grabbed his arm, Tristan looked at her with a very amused expression.
"You said you would let me go with you so that I could meet my father." Olivia said through
gritted teeth. Tristan just continued laughing at her, malice brightnening his eyes.
"If you want so bad to go..." He said mischieviously. "You can beg me for it." Olivia's eyes
widened, freeing his arm. Noticing Olivia's desperate state, Tristan smirked cruelly. "Kneel for
me and say: "Master Tristan, I beg you to let me go to the party.". Then, I'll think about your
request."
Olivia wanted badly to punch the asshole in the face, but she knew what she had to do. And
was disgusted at how humiliating it would be.
This is for my father... no, not only that. This is for freedom.
She thought then slowly kneeled in front of Tristan. He laughed maniacally, all the girls on the
room were stunned at Olivia's courage. Even Olivia was stunned by her actions.
"Sorry, I'm not hearing you. Louder please." Tristan mocked, putting his hand on the right ear.
Olivia took a deep breath, closing her eyes tightly and saying out loud.
"Master Tristan, I beg you to let me go to the party." She said quickly then opened her eyes.
Tristan still was laughing like a maniac, hand on his belly and face almost red. He then stopped
and slowly clapped hands.
"Bravo, bravo!! You can go to, slave." Tristan walked away, leaving Olivia with her sorrowful
heart. All the girls went to her rescue, hugging and trying to cheer her from the humiliation.
But Olivia could only hear her conscience screaming inside her.
I hate him
___
Despite Olivia's hateful state, she dressed up for the party with the girls. All the dresses on that
box were mostly skimpy and revealing, but she found one that suited her perfectly. Or at least
the old her. It was a pink, strapless dress. It kind of reminded her of the outfit she wore when
she ran away from home. Looking in the mirror, she could almost see the frail, sweet girl she
left behind.
"You look absolutely beautiful!!" Said Ayame, she was wearing a white dress that fit perfectly
her body. "But this hairstyle doesn't suit the dress. Let's change that." She then began to braid
Olivia's hair. The result was a slightly messy side braid.
"The boys are ready to go, they're waiting for us." Milly said.
"She won't go." Was all Milly said before leaving to join the boys. Olivia felt a pang of guilty hit
her chest, Lisa wouldn't go because of her.
___
The ride to the party was filled with anxiety and awkward feelings. Awkward because Olivia
didn't know how to behave on those kind of parties, her father attented a lot but never let her.
Also, Tristan smirked at her the whole ride, as if remembering over and over again her little
scene on the girls's room.
"We are here." One of the boys said. Olivia looked outside the limo's window, it was really
crowded, with lots of limousines parking, people entering the event, people talking to other
people. What caught her attention, was the lights coming off of the place, she could see from
afar some really fancy looking staircase.
Exiting the car, Tristan entwined arms with Olivia and smirked. She wished she could whip off
that disgusting smirk off his face. Entering the building, she saw more snob-looking persons,
each already holding a glass of champangne while talking about the last trends for the season
and how lucrative the partnership would be. Searching for her father, or some of her gang
partners, Olivia's eyes roamed through the whole ballroom.
Then, her eyes widened, landing on someone she knew very well...
The Final - Part 1
It was Trinity! Her black side cut hair was tied in a bun and wearing a plum dress that hugged
her curves pretty well. It was a bit funny to see a girl like Trinity, who prefers wearing loose
shirts and converses, dressed like that. Olivia couldn't take her eyes off of her, wishing just to
run and hug her right there. Tristan noticed Olivia's change of behavior, so he gently pulled her
arm.
"Don't try anything funny. I'll keep an eye on you." He whispered on her ear, then looked at
Trinity and smirked. "Looks like your friend is already here, let's go say hello."
Hesitantly, Olivia walked besides Tristan. It wasn't the scenarious she was expecting. Looking
at Trinity, they made eye contact for the first time. Trinity smiled at her, waving a hand, then
motioned to other people to join her. Olivia's heart was racing like crazy, she finally
reencountered the girls. The girls that kidnapped her, the ones that helped her, that trained
her and that would be forever and always tattooed on her heart. And now she was finally
going to meet them again. With Tristan...ugh.
"Liv!!" Trinity said, trying to control her happiness. Nikki, who had just approached the scene,
ran and opened her arms to Olivia. Letting go of Tristan's arm, Olivia hugged the two girls,
ignoring everything and everyone around her.
"I missed you so much." Olivia said, closing her eyes for a moment to stop the tears from
falling. The two girls in front of her weren't showing any sign of cry, but Olivia knew for some
reason they were bleeding inside. Tristan wasn't saying anything, just standing there,
motionless.
"We missed you too." Nikki said, adjusting her short red dress that matched her sassy style. "It
was so boring in that house without you. Just like torture."
"She's right. Ace was worried sick about you. She just calmed down when I discovered this
party." Trinity said. Suddenly someone else appeared besides Nikki. "Speaking of the devil..."
Olivia looked at Ace, her eyes widening at the vision. Even Tristan seemed to shift besides her.
Ace was not her usual self, instead of a expressionless face or a smirk, she had a full smile. A
smile meant for Olivia. She accepted it. Knowing Ace wouldn't take initiative, Olivia walked
closer to her and hugged her body. Firstly, Ace hesitated surprised with the sudden move.
Then, she accepted it and hugged back.
"You look...different." Olivia pointed out, refering to Ace's black dress. It covered her tattoos
and at the same time matched her looks and personality.
"Yes..." Olivia giggled, agreeing with Ace. She noticed that Ray and Mo had also joined them.
Ray wore a feminine suit with her hair tied on a straight ponytail. On the other hand, Mo was
the "girly" one of the crows(aside from Olivia), she was wearing a black dress with tulle.
"Good to see you." Olivia smiled at the two. They were never close or strangers, but Olivia
knew she could count with them when Mo smiled and greeted her too. Ray only nodded her
head in acknowledgment.
Tristan made his first move of the night. He clapped his hand, in mock joy for the girls. "Soo
beautiful. The White Tigresses and their little kitten reunited again. Touching. Really inspiring."
He said
All the girls glare at him with murderous intentions. Tristan's gang member noticed this
because the next moment, Malakai and another guy joined them, holding Milly and Ayame by
the arms. Ace raised a brow at that, the leader looked Tristan up and down, taking in his
features.
"Like what you see, sweetheart?" He asks. Ace only shakes her head.
"No. Never did, never will." She replied.
Tristan laughed at her, he seemed quite comfortable around Ace. On the house-hospital too,
they seemed like they already knew each other. Not because of gang business, but for other
reasons.
"I was right. You really came haha You sure know how to play well." Tristan said to Ace.
"Thanks, sweetie."
Tristan fakes being hurt by the words. "Ouch, that hurt. C'mon, admit it. You learned some
things from me too..." He winked, making Olivia roll her eyes.
"Maybe. But surely I didn't learn how to play games with you...." Ace coldly said.
"I'm the game master honey, like it or not. The life is a game, that's why I always win."
"Life is a game for the fool." Ace replies. Tristan laughed and shook his head, then he looked at
a man that was carrying some champagne, he motioned to the man and picked a glass.
"For the fools! The ones that make life worth living!" He screams and puts the cup in the air,
"cheering". That gesture didn't go unnoticed by the people around the group of young
gangsters. Some looked at the group with disdain, others with amusement, but the marjority
was just plain curious.
Embarassed by Tristan's actions, Olivia looked at the people. Perplexed gazes, disgusted,
amused ones, all seeming to stare solely at her. Not one though. Her father. He was in a suit,
just like the ones he always wore, Olivia never knew how to tell them apart. Instead of the
mess she saw him days ago, she seemed more composed and even younger. His eyes were
looking into her, tears threatening to fall. She wanted to run to him.
"Daddy's here." Tristan whispered on her ear, making her jump. "You can go talk with him. You
should do it, after all, the night is not so long...you never know when you'll be able to see him
again."
Something on his words left Olivia hanging. There was something on his eyes, his tone, that
made him more suspicious than before. Olivia nodded, looking at the girls for permission. Nikki
and Trinity both said her to go. The others only stayed quite, even Ace. Ace looked skeptically
at Tristan, Ray too.
"If you don't mind, I want to talk with you." Tristan said, refering to Ace then at the gang girls.
"Alone."
Ace nodded and followed him. Trinity, Nikki and Mo began to talk, so did the others. They
were on mission, but it was part of the game to pretend they were actually there to party. Ray
was the only one silent, looking at Tristan and Ace before they disapeared. Olivia began to
walk towards her father, who did the same to her. At each step, she became closer and closer.
So closer that she wanted to run.
Father and daughter finally were face to face. Looking in the eye, they were so full of
happiness, confusion and sadness they seemed in pure shock. For seconds, they just stayed
there, looking at each other. Then, they desperately hugged. Olivia felt for the first time in
months the smell of his cologne, the softness of his hair and how tall he was comparated to
her. She couldn't hold back anymore, she let the tears fall.
Not caring if it would ruin her makeup. Not caring if it would be embarassing.
The two hugged. And cried. And cried more. The sobs were so loud, that some people were
looking at them. But they did not care, they were in their own little bubble of bliss. Just like
they always were.
"I-I m-missed you so...much." Her father said between sobs, trying to control his emotion.
Olivia did the same, but she was doing it better, because her father was not only a blur
anymore, or a memory. He was real.
"M-me too." She said. "W-we should look for some place more...private." Olivia said, trying her
best to not break down again. Her father nodded frantically and, clumsyly, lead Olivia to
another place. Ignoring the people looking at them.
___
They were in a balcony. For some reason. Olivia felt safer there. Her father was still trying to
control his sobs, but his cries had almost faded. He hugged her once again when they were out
of sight, giving a little peck on her forehead. Olivia waited for him to calm down a little, doing
the same mentaly.
"I'-It's me who s-should be a-asking..." He replied. Olivia noticed something on his eyes, not
only just happiness and relief for reuniting with her. But a deep, deep sorrow. The guilt raised
on her again, she couldn't look him in the eyes anymore. The two went silent. Only the cold
breeze of the night sounded through theirs ears. Suddenly, she heard him ask.
"W-why did you run away?" He looked deep in her eyes, searching for answers. Olivia gulped.
"I...I wanted freedoom." She said, her voice wavering, eyes looking at the pearl white floor. Her
father frowned.
"Why?" Olivia looked at him again, not sure of what to say. She had to choose her words
carefully.
"I-I...I wasn't free with you, dad." Her eyes, began to water again. "Y-you were always so
overprotective, I felt like a princess locked on a tower."
Her father seemed hurt by her words, but kept listening patiently. Calming down, Olivia kept
explaining.
"I just planned to go out of the house and see things by myself for one day. Just one day. But
then, I witnessed a murder and the murder decided to kidnap me."
"It wasn't as bad as you think though. In the end, I discovered...things. About them, and about
myself too." Her voice was a little more cheerful than before. "Dad, I discovered so many
things, I learned so many things..."
They went silent again. Her father wasn't looking on Olivia's eyes anymore. His expression was
sorrowful, hurt. Olivia hurt him, not only with words. With her actions.
"I-I'm so sorry dad!" She hugged him, he did not retribute. "So so sorry" Her tears came back
with full force, some managing to fall. Her dad stayed there, quiet.
"I only did what I did because I was protecting you." He said, his voice a bit colder, but Olivia
could see the sadness on his eyes.
"Vasquez's son. He told me your story." Olivia replied. "B-but dad...w-why? W-why did you
betray your friend? Why you stole my mother from him?" She decided to ask.
"I've...I've never stole your mother from Vasquez." Olivia frowned, confused.
"What he said was a lie. All lies. I just don't know if it's what he was told or he just deceived
you."
"D-dad."
"Y-your mother loved me. We loved each other, Olivia. You were the result of our love. That's
why, I didn't want to lose you, when I lost her." Her father explained. "In the past, I made
many mistakes. But not your mother, she wasn't a mistake."
"In the past, Vasquez and I were partners, but best friends as well. Until we met our mother.
We fell for her, just like snows fall from the sky, naturally. She was smart, pretty, funny.
Vasquez wanted her, but I wanted her too. We decided to let her decide, we would fight
honestly for her love. But Vasquez never played fair. Behind my back, he threatened your
mother into marrying him, or he would kill all her family. He could do that. What he did not
expect was me to discover, and confront her about it."
"Then, you decided to run away together..." Olivia trailed and he nodded.
"We hid in a place we knew that Vasquez wouldn't find us. But he did...he found us. And killed
her." He began to cry, remembering the painful memories. Olivia comforted him.
"T-that night, she defended me. It was supposed to be me the dead one. But she took the
bullet for me. After that, Vasquez tried to shut but the police was faster." Olivia knew exactly
how he felt.
"N-no. I still remember her lifeless body. Every night, I dream about it. I'll never forget, that's
my curse for surviving. That's why...why I wanted so bad to protect you. Why I imprisoned
you."
"I never said this, but I know now that I need." Her father looked her in the eyes, cuping her
face with his hands. "I'm so-"
"George, I need your help with the Smiths. They are asking for you." A man with grey hair
interrupted the two. Olivia looked at the man, probably one obsessed with his job, just like her
father. So obsessed that he ignored her father's tearful state.
"Sorry, but I'm busy right now." Her father said but the man shook his head
"The Smiths are a important client, you know that. The're not asking to see you, they are
ordering." The man said and walked away. Olivia's father looked at her, she nodded.
"Go, dad. We talk when you finish." Without anymore words, before her father could stop,
Olivia walked away, leaving him alone. Again. She regreted it, but it was what had to be done.
She then started to look for Ace, she would need her to talk with her father.
Ace was nowhere to be seen, Olivia looked in every place of the huge building. She was almost
giving up to talk with someone else, when she heard something coming from the balcony near
her. It was someone. Curiously, Olivia walked closer to the balcony, hoping to be Ace the one
standing there. Olivia approached , looking at the one inside. A couple, kissing. Olivia was
about to walk away, when she recognized the two people who were sharing kisses.
It was Tristan and Ace. Making out.
The Final - Part 2
"What?" Was the first thing Olivia managed to say. Ace and Tristan stopped kissing each other
to look at her. Ace had a slightly "Caught in the act" face, while Tristan was surprised for a
moment but the other he gave his signature smirk. More than ever Olivia wanted to wipe that
disgusting smile from his face.
"Oh my God! I-" Olivia couldn't find words, she looked at Ace with an amazed expression. Ace
wasn't surprised anymore, instead her expression was remorseful.
"What's up, sweetie? Cat got your tongue?" Tristan taunted, Olivia felt the urge to punch him
in the face. But the utter betrayal wasn't his, was Ace's. God, Olivia was acting like a girl who
got cheated on, but what Ace did was worse. Tristan kidnapped her, tortured and humiliated
every single bone of her body. Olivia thought that, just like her, Ace hated Tristan. That didn't
make sense at all.
Not waisting any words with the duo, Olivia turned away and left, she had nothing to say. Ace
did though, she followed Olivia and pulled her by the arm.
"Wait! It's not what you think." The gang leader say. In a moment of rage, Olivia pulled away
her arms from Ace's grip. The bad girl in her kicked in.
"Really? Are we talking about the same thing? Because I just saw you all lovey dovey with
Tristan right there!" Ace's eyes widened a little, never have Olivia talked with her in such a
way. Except for once, but Ace herself provocated her.
"Are you seriously telling me to not overreact? Be kidnapped, torturated and humiliated by
that guy and we can talk, okay? Tristan is trouble, you should know it better than anyone!"
"It's because you never tell me anything! You lie to me, you're always leaving me hanging. How
am I supposed to react when seeing you getting intimate with the man that pretty much wants
to kill my father? I thought we were partner, friends." Olivia walked back, wanting to leave.
"But it's like the first rule. Never trust anyone, huh?!" She says and walks away leaving a
deranged Ace standing alone.
Olivia walked to the nearest window, leaning against it. She was full of bullshit that night, her
mind couldn't take anymore. Olivia just wanted to have an actual break down and pass out,
that way she had not to deal with everything that happened in her life. She felt her chest
tightening, her breath becoming uneven. The only thing that stopped her from going crazy was
the sultry yet deep voice.
"That escalated quickly, no?!" Olivia looked at the owner, Ray. The emotionless girl walked
closer to her, hands in pocket and a expressionless yet solemn face. For some unknown
reason, that calmed Olivia a little. Having someone by her side was comforting.
"D-did you see? The two kissing?" Olivia turned her body to Ray, still leaning against the
window for support. Ray nodded at Olivia's question.
"I don't know. Maybe they don't know either. It's...complicated." Ray explained
"How complicated?"
"Listen, Olivia, what happens between Ace and Tristan, stays only between them. The
relationship they have is longer than you think it is. Don't worry about Ace either, she knows
how to separate love life from business."
"Since when they know each other?" Olivia asked curiously. Ray stayed silent for some
minutes.
"You remember Ace." Ignoring Olivia's question, Ray points that out. Olivia frowned.
"Why?"
"Ace was like you in the beginning. But this life. No, this world, changed her. The same
happened to you. And let's just say Tristan has something to do with it in both cases."
"Huh??" Olivia was even more confused, Ray managed to create more questions than answers.
The blonde haired ice queen didn't seem to mind Olivia's confused state.
"I'll go get something to drink, wanna come? You need it a little." She asked then walked away,
not waiting for a reply.
Olivia rolled her eyes. That was the longest conversation she ever had with Ray, for some
reason the emotionless girl was a bit different. Not wanting to waiste time thinking about the
mess she was in, Olivia went for Ray's advice and grabbed the first cup of alcohol she saw. She
never tasted alcohol in her life, obviously her father didn't let her. Looking at the colorless
drink, Olivia saw all her sorrows reflected in it. From her kidnapping, to her training, to being
kidnapped again... They say people drow their sorrows in alcohol right?
Then, she drank. The drink runned through her throat, the taste wasn't that bad at all. When
she stopped sipping, a sudden urge to puke came, but she ignored and returned to her drink.
For the first time Olivia forgot about everything, it was only her and her drink. She drowned in
it like a rock thrown in the lake. Going deeper and deeper, until reach the end.
Fuck Ace. Fuck Tristan. Fuck everyone she knew. Olivia felt the bliss the alcohol granted her,
she was able to not care about anything with it.
"Heey Mamacita!! Come dance!" Nikki shouted above the loud music. Olivia joined the group
of girls, griding and dancing with the beat. If she wasn't a little drunk from the alcohol, she
would have never danced with them.
___
The girls were in the middle of the eleventh song they danced, Olivia had had a few more
glasses of alcohol. She felt free. Finally free. Suddenly, the music stopped. Olivia and the girls
looked at the front, noticing her father was in the middle of the stage, ready for a long and
boring speech. Even so, Olivia smiled at her father.
"I wanted to thank all the persons that came. It means so much to me to see everybody
enjoying themselves this fateful night" He then pointed to his partner and an old couple that
approached him.
"...and we would like to also announce, our newest client: Mr. and Mrs. Smith, please come
closer..." The other man besides Olivia's father spoke.
Her father was quiet, just standing there. His eyes roamed the whole crowd, seeming to look
for someone. Olivia kept looking at him and when their gazes met, a smile plastered on their
faces. Olivia was happy to see him again. The feeling didn't last long though, because before
her father could speak again, a really loud noise erupted.
Boom!!
The Final - Part 3
Chaos.
The before pleasant party was now nothing but one word: chaos. After the first bomb guests
began to run and scream, fearful for their lives. On stage, Olivia saw her father bravely trying
to calm everyone, but even his partner had already run. Still feeling a bit tipsy and confused,
Olivia just stood there, frozen. Just like her stupid previous self would do. She looked back and
forth, searching for the girls or someone that could help her, apparently she had separated
herself from anyone she knew. Then. another aloud noise.
It was like a warning to Olivia. So instead of just standing there, she decided to go after the
only person she knew needed her more than ever. Her father. She ran to the stage, where her
father was already out and probably searching for her as well. She got closer to him and gave a
quick hug.
"We have to get out of here!!" She said and one of the expensive chandeliers fell near them,
killing one of the desperate guests. The atmosphere was so thick Olivia felt it could be cut with
a knife. It had to be Tristan's doing.
Olivia held her father's hand and ran with him among all of the hasty crowd. Apparently all the
possible exits were closed, because whenever they approached a door, it was crowded. Olivia
saw all the crying, begging and desperation reflected in that snobish people.
"Calm down! Let's go to the air ducts!" A man said, climbing with the help of other two.
Quickly, a huge crowd formed around him, but there were still others that ran aimlesly
through the ball room. But the joy of the moment was short lived, Olivia heard something
coming in their direction. Then, a man suddenly fell, causing several people to scream. Olivia
recognized the sound. Shots. She looked at the source and saw masked men coming. They shot
anyone who got on their way.
"Let's go, we need to find the girls." Olivia said to her father, he seemed shaken by what was
happening but Olivia pulled his arm and ran with him, searching for the girls.
After a few minutes of searching, she saw two man coming her way, the masks and riffles they
had made her run to the opposite direction, only to find a dead end. Without any armory, she
stood with her father. The two man ambushed them, aiming their riffles, ready to shoot. Olivia
held her father's hand, if that was the end, she would stay with him no matter what. Her father
looked at her, dread in his eyes. She closed her eyes, waiting for the blown.
But felt nothing. No pain, no sorrow. She felt her breath stopping, the sweat dripping on her
face. The heart stopping it's pace. For a moment, she felt it all.
Flashback
Olivia was only a little girl. She wasn't sure of the age, but she remembered she was little
enough to not be able to reach her dolls above the shelves on her room. That time, she didn't
feel like a prisoner yet. She loved her father deeply, and being able to spend almost every
single second of the day with him was pure bliss.
But something felt wrong to little Olivia. She missed something, no, someone. A mother. Her
mother. She remembered having a mother, just like the kids shw watched on TV. Her mother
was beautiful, kind. Just like a princess. But one day, for no reason, Olivia didn't see her
mother anymore. She waited and waited for days, but nobody ever came.
"Dad" She asked her father, who was reading one of his journals. His gaze changed from the
paper to her, a tiny smile plastering on his slowly aging face.
"S-she...she's in another place right now, princess." Her father atempted a smile, but deep
inside Olivia knew it was fake.
"What place?" The little girl asked. Her father rubbed the back of his neck, looking down, as if
trying to search for something. He then looked at Olivia, motioning for her to come closer.
When she did, he picked her up and put on his lap.
"She's in a beautiful place right now. Much better than the one we live in." He said
"Can we go and visit her?" Olivia asked naively. Her father shook his head.
"But one day we will, won't we?" The girl was now hopeful, smiling at her father. He pitied the
little girl, who knew nothing of the real world.
"We will, my princess. One day, everybody will visit that place."
Then, the father hugged his daughter. The daughter didn't notice the single tear that ran her
father's cheek
That time Olivia didn't understand what her father was talking about. But after growing up, she
realized. The place her mother went to was where, in fact, lots of people go as well. Death. She
wondered how death felt, she was witnessing what death felt.
"Stop being a pussy, Olivia. We have to go now!" The gang leader shouted, then ran and Olivia
did the same with her father. The three ran, hiding in some spots to avoid being shoot or
injured. Olivia looked at the ball room, what was once a beautiful and luxurious room, was
now a complete disaster. Pieces of glass everywhere, along with food, tables. She saw the
smoke the masked man where spreading across the entire perimeter.
Among all the chaos, Olivia saw two people shooting the masked men. Nikki and Mo. When
Ace reached them, the two had defeated the people that tried to take them down. Olivia and
her father approached.
"Trinity found an air duct that was not blocked. Some people are escaping through there. Ray
is helping her to guard the local, just waiting for us. Her orders where to find you and Olivia."
Mo explained.
Waisting no time, Ace said to the girls to run. They did so, Olivia grabbed her father's hand.
"C'mon!" Olivia urged him to continue. They ran alongside with Ace, Nikki and Mo. Passing by
several dead people, shooting some masked man. But suddenly, one of those men managed to
hit one of them.
Olivia's father.
He screamed in pain, holding his leg. Olivia stopped and looked at the damanged man, he no
longer had forces to continue. Nikki shot the culprit, while Mo and Ace helped.
"I-I...I c-can't..." The damaged man said, Olivia held his arms and put on her shoulder.
Understanding the move, Ace did the same with the other side.
"You can, dad!! I won't leave you here. Let's go." Olivia said and the girls carried her father to
where Trinity and Ray were.
When they reached the air duct, Trinity helped to put Olivia's father inside of it. First was Ace,
then Ray, Mo, Nikki, Trinity and Olivia. The latter helping her father to move, his agony was
evident since he whimpered everytime he moved. Finally, they reached a safe place. Running
towards the closest door, they tried to open the one at the end of the hall. Nothing. They tried
to open it again. Nothing. Stressed, Ace huffed.
"Okay, everybody take a step back. Ray, Mo, we will have to shoot this." Everybody went
backwards, Olivia's father was on the floor. But before they could shoot the metal door, it
opened.
For a second, Olivia felt relieved, she was finally able to escape. What she didn't count, was the
amount of masked man that entered when the door opened. Luckily, Ray and Mo were
centimeters away from the door. The masked men all where aiming his riffles at the group of
girls, threatening to shoot. The girls did the same, aiming guns at them, but the number of
masked men was greater than hers. They formed a circle around the girls and the father, no
way out.
"I can't believe you really thought that it would be so easy." A voice spoke. Olivia recognized it
right away. Tristan.
The brown haired jerk stood right there, before them. Wearing a bullet proof vest, he aimed a
gun at the girls, slowly walking towards them. The masked men parted for him to enter the
circle, he looked at each one of the girls. Stopping on Olivia, who was glaring at him with
hatred.
"Put the guns down, girls. If you didn't notice, you are losing already." All the girls relutantly
obeyed, slowly putting down the guns. Olivia looked at her father, worried with his state. He
was sheding blood, he would pass out at any moment.
"What do you want, Vasquez." Ace snarled. Tristan smirked.
"My, my...calm down, sweetheart. Don't you remember our awesome moment together?" He
then turned to Olivia. "I bet little Livie here remembers, don't you?"
"Haha, you never fail to amuse me. Now let's go to business." Tristan turned again to Ace.
"Let's get this straight since we have not much time left." Tristan explained, licking his bottom
lip. "Remember the bombs we exploded on the ball room?"
Ace nodded.
"Oh well, there's one more. But this one is not small like the others. Oh no, it's much bigger..."
"Your hair is pretty funny, so red. Just like fire..." He said, walking closer to her and touching
her hair, making Mo back away in disgust. "A temper as fiery as your hair, I see. But it
remembered me how this place will be after my last bomb explode. Red as fire, hot as hell.
Interesting, huh?"
"Oh well, we have just a few minutes before this place goes to space. That rhymes haha"
Tristan laughs. "But the deal is: I let you go, if you give me something..."
"What?" Ace asked
"Him." Tristan pointed to Olivia's father. Olivia's eyes widened, she put a protective arm
around her father.
"No! Anything but that, no!" Olivia shouted, then looked with pleading eyes at Ace.
"Ace...please."
Ace looked worried at Olivia pleads, she was indecisive. Tristan made a little 'tic tac' noise,
warning the girls to be quick. Olivia's father looked at him, pleading with eyes.
"T-Tristan, d-don't do this. L-let us g-go." He gave his best to try to convince his rival'son. Still
feeling the pain.
"Like you let go of my father?" Tristan snarled. "Sorry, but I'm not like you. You betrayed my
family, you have to pay."
"Why do you hate him so much?" Olivia screamed, catching Tristan's attention.
"I thought I already told you. How he stole my father's precious belonging, how after that my
father drowned in sorrow, while he lived happily ever after with that whore."
"I-it's a lie! W-we loved each other. I-I was y-your f-father friend. He was the one who betrayed
me!"
"No!! You betrayed him." Tristan yelled, making Olivia's father shiver. "I guess I didn't tell you
Livie, but your sorry excuse of a father not only just stole my father's woman, but a part of his
fortune too!" He then looked at his watch.
"Time is passing. Make your choice!" Ace glares at him. Olivia was losing it, her father bleed
and the time passed. Swallowing her pride, she decided to plead.
"Tristan, please, stop with this. This is just a misunderstanding, please." She begs Tristan,
whom just laughs at her.
"Shut up!!" Tristan cut him off. "You're not sorry, I know it. But relax, the fault isn't completely
yours. That whore you called wife was at fault too. Thanks to her, my father abandoned my
mother. Thanks to her, my mother commited suicide!!" Tristan clenched his fists in pure rage.
Then looked at Olivia.
"And you...you're just like her." He said. "Your face is just like hers, you facade is just like hers.
Sweet girl my ass, you're a sneaky slut just like your mother. The perfect daughter for the
perfect couple. Disgusting."
"Wanna know what? I'm tired of all of you. Your family should be vanished from the face of
Earth. Not a single Werneck should be allowed to live." He looked at both Olivia and her father.
"I thought you were better than this, Ace. But you became an emotional wreck after all. That
little pest changed you, huh?" Tristan had a crazed expression on his face. "Don't worry, I'll end
it now."
It all happened in slow motion. Tristan aiming his gun at Olivia, Olivia's surprised eyes with the
sudden move, The White Tigresses all looking worried ready to help. Tristan fired the gun.
Olivia didn't hide, she would face it like a woman. She heard a bunch of screams. But at the last
minute, her father appeared in front of her. Then, he fell.
"Noooooo!!" Olivia screamed, holding her father almost lifeless body. He looked at her, a
solemn glint on his eyes.
"This is the bullet I should've taken years ago. I'm sorry, Olivia." After saying that, he shifted in
pure pain. Olivia cried, pleading him to not die. Not in her arms.
"Burn in hell." She heard Tristan say, then he took a last glance at his clock, and dropped it on
the floor. If Olivia wasn't feeling so helpless, she would've tried to attack him. But right now all
she could feel was pain
Sorrow
Agony
Loneliness
Her father was gone. He died protecting her, just like her mother did to him. In that moment,
Olivia forgave him. She forgave him for everything. He was human just like her, he made many
mistakes in life. But he would always love her like no other, she felt the same for him. She
remembered all the times he hugged her, kissed her forehead, loved her.
"I love you so much, my little princess." He would always say this to her, everyday. Yet, she ran
away from him. She abandoned him. She would regret it for the rest of her life.
"...livia!"
"Get..."
"...Let's g..."
Olivia heard voices. Urging her to get up, ordering her to run. Olivia almost couldn't hear the
voices. All to her was a blur, if not for all the tears she was shedding, but from the numbness
her body felt. She held her father's lifeless body like it would save her life. It wouldn't.
Suddenly, she felt someone grab her by the arm.
"Olivia, c'mon! We only have thirty seconds!" Said Ace, holding Tristan's watch in front of her.
Olivia didn't care. She wanted to stay with her father. Her cries increased.
"No! F-father...father..." She held her father in her arms once again. Begging. She wasn't sure
for what she was begging, but she begged anyway. Maybe it was for her father to just wake
up. Maybe was for her to just die already.
Suddenly, hands held her by the arms, pulling her away from her father.
"Olivia!! We HAVE to go!!" Ace and Nikki were pulling her. Pulling her away from her father.
Olivia didn't like that, she tried to reach her father no matter what. Crying and screaming, she
tried to hold her father. Ace sighed, slapped Olivia on the face and yelled:
"Wake up!! We have to go!! Staying here to die just means you're letting Tristan win!" Ace
pulled her again, but instead of resisting, Olivia let her do it. She had woken up. Olivia watched
the girls drag her away from her father, his dead body was further and further away.
"Goodbye, dad." Olivia said, then began to run with the help of Nikki.
Olivia counted the seconds. They managed to pass through the door but there was still some
halls to pass.

Epilogue
Diary Entry:
Dear diary, now I know how to properly begin a diary entry. Long time I don't write anything
on you, huh? Well, some things happened. And when I say some things, I mean a lot of things. I
wrote about some of them some time ago, I guess I need to update some informations...But
that can wait for a while.
Right now, I'm on a hospital. Well, not you common kind of hospital, but it has the same
fuctions anyway. I'm recovering from the injuries I suffered on the party. The party... so many
things happened. Doctor Chambers told me it was good to write down what I think about it, it
would help me. Bullshit. To write about what happened to me is the same thing as remind me
everything. It would only drive me insane. Well, if I'm not already insane. Everyday that passes
by I think one piece of sanity leaves my mind.
I'm not that "Rapunzel" you met on my first entry. Not anymore. That girl was weak. Not just
that, she was oblivious. Oblivious to everything. But that girl is gone, she's dead. I killed her.
But sometimes...sometimes I wish I could be her again. No, I wish I had a time machine. Go
back in time and fix everything. I would be so much happier if I could travel in time, but it's
only of my crazy wish, it will never come true. See? That's why I'm losing my sanity...
The only people that keep me sane are The White Tigresses. They help me everyday to put up
with all, they cheer me up when I need. I feel proud for being one of them. Funny thing is that I
once hated the idea of being tied to them. Now I love, I couldn't live without it. Nikki told me
she knows how I feel, and I guess it may be true. May being the key world. I don't think she
understands at all, just like I don't understand her pain at all. Only me can understand my pain.
Only her can understand her pain.
Now I remembered something that Ace said. It was when I was still a hostage, she was trying
to convince me to join her and the others. I refused to believe what she told me.
"Darling...good girls might go to heaven when they die, but bad girls, might experiment heaven
even before death."
If it's true, why do I feel the opposite? What I'm experiencing now is pure hell. I feel hopless. I
feel numb. I feel nothing at all. Wonder how Ray became the way she is...it wasn't easy.
About being a "bad girl", I'm just sure of one thing: I can have anything I want. Bad girls do not
sit and wait, they go and do everything necessary. They do not follow the rules, or play fair.
Bad girls are nasty. I guess I'm nasty as well. And you wanna know what? I like it. I like being
able to do whatever I want without caring about anything or anyone. What's the thing I want
the most?
Revenge.
