Emergency Shutdown Switch • The Emergency Shutdown switch is located on the front of the system.
• Press this switch to cut off power to the system in an emergency situation.
Main Power Switch Controls the incoming line voltage and is located at the top left corner.
LCD Touch Panel • Lets you select the mode of operation.
• Debug and Maintenance modes require a password. Maintenance mode lets you
calibrate and set up the system for production. See LCD Touch Panel for details.

Manual Control Panel Open the Zone 2 door to access the manual control panel.

1 MAINTENANCE KEY Off – Enable Production Mode.
SWITCH On – Enable Maintenance/Debug Mode; allows system to operate with the doors open.
2 TOP JIG LOCK Lock the top fixture.
3 BOTTOM JIG LOCK Lock the bottom fixture.
4 DRAWER CONTROL 1 Press both buttons to move the drawer up or down.

5 EMERGENCY STOP Second Emergency Stop switch for use when the Zone 2 door is open.

Start the system following the sequence below. See Figure 6.
1 Turn the Main Power Switch to ON.
The LCD touch panel will display the Main page.
2 Press Reset to reset the safety relays.
3 Open the rear door to access the PDU. Turn on the rocker switch of the PDU if it
is not already on.
4 Open the controller pod cover to access the following switches:
a Turn ON the PDU on/off switch that enables power to the testhead.
b Turn ON the DUT power supply.
c Turn ON the controller and monitor.

Boot the testhead
1 Log on as calibrate to boot the testhead.
2 Open a Korn Shell window and type dgn at the command line to run the
Diagnostics program.
3 When the DGN interface appears, select the Testhead Functions softkey.
4 Boot the testhead using the Testhead Power On softkey.
Booting takes about 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the number of testhead
modules in your system.

Logging on to the system
The i3070 In-Circuit Test Software requires that decimals in the board file use a
period (.) and not any other character such as a comma.
Make use that Windows is set to use a period for decimals:
Select Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Regional Options tab.
Click Customize; in the Numbers tab ensure that the selected Decimal symbol
is a period.
You will need the following to log on to the system:
• A Windows user name, which can be a personal user name assigned by the
System Administrator, or one of the standard user names supplied with the
test system (below). Names and passwords are case-sensitive.
• A user name to access the Developer Interface (UnMux system only) or
Engineer Test Interface.

To log on at the testhead controller
1 Log on to Windows using your assigned user name. Type your password and
press Enter.
2 If you have used a user logon, the Operator window is displayed and you can
begin using the test system.
3 If you have used an engineer logon, you can launch the test development
software using the icons on the desktop.
To log on at a test development workstation
1 At a developer’s workstation, log on to Windows.
2 Launch the test development software using the icons on the desktop.

Shutting Down
1 From the i3070 software, select File > Exit.
2 Unboot the testhead:
a Open a Korn Shell window and type dgn at the command line.
b In the DGN window, select Testhead Functs and unboot the testhead using
Testhead Power Off.
3 Log off Windows.
4 Turn OFF the PDU on/off switch.
5 Turn OFF the DUT power supply.
6 Turn the Main Power Switch to OFF.
