Item Description
Emergency Shutdown Press the Emergency Shutdown switch to power down the testhead
Switch and its associated equipment in an emergency situation.
It turns off all AC power to the testhead, and is equivalent to turning off
the main circuit breaker on the rear of the system.
Main Power Switch Controls the incoming line voltage and is located at the rear of the
system.
Testhead Rotation Rotates the testhead into any position from 0 to 90 degrees from the
Switch horizontal.

Item Description
Operator Interface Graphical user interface lets the operator load and run testplans.
Operator footswitch Functions like the START button in the operator screen; can be used
when the operator’s hands are busy.
Bar code scanner Used to save time and minimize errors when entering board serial
numbers.
Guided probe Used by the operator for manual probing of circuits.

Boot the Testhead Controller

1 Turn on the monitor and any other peripherals.
2 Turn on power to the controller.
3 Allow the controller to boot.
During the boot process, the system:
• tests and initializes hardware components,
• loads the operating system,
• starts log on and other system services, and
• connects to the LAN.
Read the messages displayed on the screen. These messages could be
important in solving system administration problems.
The controller boot process is complete when the Windows log-on screen
appears.

Log On to the System

The i3070 In-Circuit Test Software requires that decimals in the board file use a
period (.) and not any other character such as a comma.
Make use that Windows is set to use a period for decimals:
Select Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Regional Options tab.
Click Customize; in the Numbers tab ensure that the selected Decimal symbol
is a period.

You will need the following to log on to the system:

• A Windows user name, which can be a personal user name assigned by the
System Administrator, or one of the standard user names supplied with the
test system (below). Names and passwords are case-sensitive.
• A user name to access the Developer Interface (UnMux system only) or
Engineer Test Interface.
