Past simple – verb ‘to be’

We can use the past simple of the verb to be to talk about situations and states in the
past.

1. True or false?

Yesterday I was on a trip with my family. We were at the beach all


day. My parents were happy because they weren’t at work. It was a
hot day so the water wasn’t very cold. My sister was in the sea all
