ENGINEERING DRAWING

ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS

1. Tw circles C, (R50) and C2 (R40) have their centres 120mm apart a horizontal line. Draw the
two circles and join them by means of an internal arc , R40. Show all construction lines
(10 marks)

2. Draw a development of a surface of a cone cut by a curved plane. Cone base diameter = 80mm ,
height of cone = 90mm. Cut by a horizontal plane 12mm from the apex and by a plane of radius
50mm centred at A. (10 marks)

3. Construct a tangent to a circle of radius of 30 from a point P (5 marks )

4. Construct triangle ABC given perimeter = 120mm , base angle ABC = 30 degrees , base angle
ACB = 45 degrees (5 marks)

5. Construct triangle ABC given the perimeter = 120mm , and the ratio of the lengths of sides
2:3:4 (5 marks )

6. Inscribe a square inside a triangle. Let the triangle be an equilateral one side of 90mm (5 marks)

7. Inscribe a square in a semi-circle. Let the radius of the semi-circle be 50mm (5 marks)

8. Redraw the diagram below (10 marks)


9. Draw in oblique projection the component below (10 marks)

10. The diagram below is to be translated to first angle orthographic projection using a full size
scale

a) Draw the front view from A (10 marks)

b) Produce a section end view from T-T (15 marks)

c) The plan (10 marks)
