The present simple.

1. Cuando quieres comunicar estados o acciones permanentes.
Example: The earth is the third planet from the sun.
Example: Every ten years is a decade.
Example:
Ejemplo: I drink coffee every morning.
4. Cuando das indicaciones, instrucciones y señales.
Ejemplo: You go down this street to the cinema, then you turn right .
Ejemplo: Tomorrow is my birthday!
Estructura:
Afirmative: PP/N + Verb ( infinitive ) + C
Example: I write poems of love.
Robert speaks English very well.
( He, She, it.)
I ________________ do She _______ does you_______do
You _____________ do it _________ does They ______do
He_______________ does we ________ do.
3
Examples:
I do not play soccer. Yo no juego futbol.
Karen and I do not work in a school.
Marcia does not play the piano.

Interrogative or questions.
Para hacer el interrogativo o preguntas necesitamos del auxiliar do / does.
Examples:
Do you speak English?
Yes I do. / No I don´t.
Does Marlene eat sandwich?
Yes, she does. / No she doesn´t.
Con Wh questions words.
What time do you get up? I get up at 5.

Adverbs of frequency
Frequency adverbs; always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom…
normally), often, sometimes, rarely y never.
Always: siempre. Esta acción equivale a una realización del 100%
Usually: usualmente. Esta acción equivale a una realización del 80
Often: seguido o a menudo. Esta acción equivale a una realización del 70 %
Sometimes: algunas veces.

Never: nunca. Esta acción equivale a una realización del 0 %

5
1. Sara always goes out on Saturday evenings.
2. Her boyfriend usually picks her up and they drive into the city centre.
3. They often meet friends and have a drink together.
4. In the winter they sometimes go to the cinema.
5. They rarely go in the summer because they prefer to stay outside.
6. They never get home before midnight.

manera.
1. Con las formas del verbo “To be” el adverbio va después.
Ejemplo. The weather is always warm in Chinandega.

2. Con los verbos diferentes de to be el adverbio va antes.

Ejemplo: The party never end at midnight.
How often do you watch films?
How often does he play tennis?
How often do the trains arrive late?

6
Do you often come here?
Does she always work so hard?
Do they ever pay on time? (‘ever’ instead of ‘never’ for questions)
You must always try your best.
We can usually find a seat on our train.
They should never be rude to customers.
I have never visited Turkey.
He’s always taking things from my desk. It’s really annoying.
You had rarely arrived late at work until yesterday.

Answer to the following questions.

What do you usually do on Saturday nights? _____________________________________

How often do you see your best friend? _____________________________________
Do you ever go to the theatre? _____________________________________
How often do you play sport or go to the gym?___________________________________
Do you ever watch films or TV programmes in English?___________________________
What time do you usually go to bed? _____________________________________
How often do you eat at a restaurant? _____________________________________
Are you sometimes late for work or school? _____________________________________
