Ans: The king of the country visited the shepherd one day because he had
heard about the famous shepherd’s wisdom and friendly nature.

Ans: The governors grew jealous of the shepherd because he was appointed
as a governor by the king. The shepherd got a lot of importance among people
as a wise good person and became famous in the country very quickly.

4) Why was the new governor called to the palace?


Ans: The new governor was called to the palace in order to clear the doubts
lurking in the air about the stolen money & treasure in the shepherd’s iron chest.

5) Why was everyone delighted to see the iron chest on the camel’s back?
Ans: Everyone was delighted to see the iron chest on the camel’s back because
they thought that the king would discover the truth and that it would be the end
of the shepherd’s time as a governor.

Ans: The iron chest contained an old blanket.

(ii) Why did the shepherd always carry it?


Ans: The shepherd carried it always as the blanket was his oldest friend and if
the king decided to take away the post of the governor, the shepherd could
continue to use his blanket to protect himself.

(iii) Is it an example of the shepherd’s humility or wisdom or both?


Ans: This is an example of both, the shepherd’s humility and wisdom.
