Salug “The Musical Town” - Youth Short Film Competition
In celebration of the IP Month 2021
Please read carefully and consider the following competition rules and short film
guidelines for the Short Film Competition before submitting your entry.
All entrants must adhere to the following
Competition Rules & Short Film Guidelines:
Competition Rules.
1. All entrants (actors, director, scriptwriter, crew, videographer, editor, and others) must
be bona fide residents of Salug, and are at least 15 years of age but not more than 30 years
old.
2. They should portray one IP tribe within the locality of Salug, entailing their ways of
living; how they coexist in our modern age, their culture, traditions, norms, and arts.
3. By signing the Registration Form, the entrants agree to abide by the rules and guidelines
of the short film competition, and by the decision of the panel of judges.
4. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify any team that fails to comply with the
competition rules and guidelines.
5. The organizer may amend the rules of the competition at any time with proper
information-dissemination to all entrants.
6. The final copy of the short film entry must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM of
October 25, 2021.
Short Film Guidelines.
1. All entries received on the abovementioned deadline will be part of the competition.
Teams who fail to submit their entry on the said deadline will be disqualified to join the
competition, but their entry will still be included in the public screening.
2. All creative endeavors including but not limited to scriptwriting, directing, shooting,
editing, and musical scoring should be done strictly by the team members only. If creative
endeavors of the film are done by somebody not part of the registered team member, the
film is disqualified to join the competition.
3. The film must be at least 15 minutes long but not longer than 20 minutes in duration,
including opening and closing credits.
4. Dialect need not necessarily be in English however, subtitling in English is highly
encouraged.
5. Any type of video camera or a DSLR camera capable of filming may be used.
6. The short film must be submitted in MP4 format and must play using standard
film/video programs such as Windows Media Player and VLC Player.
7. Usage of pre-recorded music as the background is allowed but these should be
acknowledged in the credits of the film. It is however encouraged that, teams come up with
original musical scoring.
8. The film must clearly be content-related to the ways of living of our local indigenous
people, such as their culture, traditions, costumes, among others.
