Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan passes away; Cremation
to take place in Patna
Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan passed away in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
He was 74.
He was elected to Lok Sabha eight times and also held the record of winning his
constituency, Hajipur, with the highest margin for several years.
 
A state funeral will also be accorded to him. Cremation will take place in Patna
tomorrow.
 
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of dignitaries
have condoled his demise.
 
In a tweet, Mr Kovind said, in his demise, the nation has lost a visionary leader. 

Health Ministry issues SOPs on preventive


measures to be followed in entertainment parks
Health Ministry has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on preventive
measures to be followed in Entertainment Parks and other similar places amidst the
Corona Pandemic.
 
The Home Ministry had earlier allowed re-opening of Entertainment Parks and similar
places from 15th of October. The Entertainment park owners and managers have
been instructed to effectively work out mechanisms to not allow excessive crowding
even on peak days and holidays.
It also said that food courts at such places should encourage contactless mode of
ordering and digital mode of payment.

Trade & economy one of the most important pillars


of India- EU partnership: Piyush Goyal
Union Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal has said that
trade and economy are one of the most important pillars of India- European Union
(EU) partnership.
Mr. Goyal said that under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India
and EU have furthered their relationship across the European Union.

He said both India and European Union are natural partners who are willing to
engage as responsible global citizens in order to address pressing global challenges.

Delhi govt allows reopening of cinemas, theatres &


multiplexes
Delhi government has allowed reopening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with
up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity from 15th of October.          

According to an order issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA),


such establishments will remain closed in COVID-19 containment zones in the city.

Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that cinema halls will be allowed
to reopen from October 15 and they will have to follow all guidelines issued by the
central government.

IPL: Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals; RCB to take


on KKR in Sharjah
In IPL Cricket, Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by five wickets in Abu Dhabi last
night. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Delhi posted a competitive 162 for 4 in
20 overs riding on Shikhar Dhawan’s unbeaten 69 from 52 balls and Shreyas Iyer's
42 off 33. For Mumbai, Krunal Pandya picked up two wickets giving away 26 runs.
