VII. EVALUATION

Directions: Write a 10 sentence paragraph which will serve as your pledge in fulfilling your task and
responsibilities as FS1 student for this semester It shoukd include your commitment and dedication as a
future teacher.

MY PLEGDE

I Irene Ilustrisimo a student of Mrs. Angelica Magtibay in Field Study 1&2 are making a pledge in my
commitment in this course. I will promise to do my best to understand and respect my personal
responsibilities my duties to comply in every requirement I needed to submit. I also promise to make
sure that my personal life will not be a reason to affect my ability to perform in the task given to me. I
will make sure to become a student that will fulfill every expectation of my professor because I know
that it is important as a future educator. As a future teacher I’ll make sure to acquire those knowledge
and skill that I needed to become efficient and effective teacher. I will give my hundred percent in my
effort hard work and commitment in this course. I will make sure to conquer my insecurities and fear to
perform in front of a lot people to become a qualified educator for my students in the future. I promise
to do my best make mature decisions and ready enough whatever challenges I might encounter in this
course because as a future educator I should be well equipped and ready to teach my students. I will
finish this course with a hope to be ready to the next step of my journey as a teacher. I pledge to strive
and fulfill all those requirements i needed to pass this course.

V.ACTIVITY

Directions: Answer the following questions. Develop your answers in paragraph form.

1. What problems may be encountered during the teaching learning process?

Teaching learning process is defined as a transformation process of knowledge from teacher to students
from a more knowledgeable individual to an individual who seek for more learning. As a student right
now and a future educator the problems that I encounter and experience as a student is the uniqueness
of every individual specially in learning style.Llearner are unique from one another there are people who
easily grasp in just a few explanation of a teacher while the other will have experience difficulties in
understanding the lesson. I read in an article that one of the problem that acquire in teaching learning
process is the problems of knowledge retention, inadequate grasp of concepts and poor application of
learned principles to new situations, i.e. prior knowledge and knowledge transfer. Like I said learner are
different from one another while some of them are enjoyed studying the other might feel pressure and
depress as they question their capabilities as a learner.
2. How may the quality of teaching improve?

In my view to improve the quality of teaching is through building a harmoniously environment for
learners, wherein it will be easy for them to approach their teachers. It also improved the quality of
teaching if you will clear to the learner that learning is not a competition between student and teacher.
How? By recognizing the achievements and accomplishment of your student. I also believe that to
improve the quality of teaching teacher should make sure that the class will always be entertaining to
avoid boredom of the student. Jolly and entertaining class atmosphere where set an easy and
approachable ambiance for the student to participate during discussion. By doing that you’re not just
making them enjoyed learning but also building their confidence and I guess boosting the confidence of
a student is one of the lifelong learning that you can teach to them.

V. ACTIVITY

Directions: Analyze the given list of basic principles and strategies in teaching.

1. Compare them with the previous ones applied by your former teachers.

As I analyze the principle and strategies in teaching I ask to compare them with the previous ones
applied by my former professor or teacher, but I could say mostly of those strategies and principle are
being used of my previous and current professor. Every first day of the class most of them are asking us
what is our prior knowledge on our subject or course. They are making us, share during the first hour of
the class. In terms of motivation a lot of my teachers are relating our courses in real life situation they
also shared their achievements to make us inspire in becoming a more successful individual in the
future. In organizing knowledge I could say that if students are different from one another the teacher is
also unique from each other. I have teacher who is really good in teaching buy just listening on what
they say I always taught a lot from them every end of the class. I also had teacher who is inspirable on
what he experience in life but despite those things he become a good and well know teacher. They are
different in organizing knowledge for us to learn but those strategies are the same because at the end
they success on their which we learned from them. In developing mastery in skills my previous and
current professor used to let us experience it personally in activities and from those tasks they gave to
us individually. At the end of my course I think one of the important strategies that my teacher used is
when they let us experience things that we are surely encountered in the future without their guide and
support and by doing that we are equipped to conquer those challenges and struggle in life and I thank
them for doing that.

2. What do you notice?

What I notice is those principle and strategies are similar to what my other teacher used it looks like it’s
a standard for every teacher to use those strategies to be able to become efficient and effective teacher
for their student.

3. Research on other effective principles and teaching strategies.

Some of the effective principle and teaching strategies that I found in internet are Develop mastery
learning which build automatic fluency in key concept. Don’t dismiss knowledge as ‘lower order’, Except
excellence from all, Guide learning, Ensure that student have to think hard, Put deliberate practice into
lesson, Test to improve learning, and Use questioning frequently and rigorously.
V. ACTIVITY

VII. EVALUATION

1. How ICT are used in education?

Information and Communication Technology are being used to support the old ways of teaching. It helps
to give supporting ideas to make the lesson much easier to understand. It also ways as motivation for
student by showing them videos pictures vividly that increase their engagement in participating class
discussion. ICT are supporting, enhancing and optimizing the delivery of information effectively and
efficiently. It also used to catch student interest enhance creativity increased communication and
allowing them to become up to date to the current and newly information. ICT become a breakthrough
in learning. ICT is important because it’s a means to carry off meaningful task in widening and
modernizing current educational system and mode of learning. ICT is also a form of a tool that helps in
the field of education. It is used to manage the information system that influence and help in education
schools and teachers. This technology enhances the access of information in a matter of second that
give a big change in terms of education.

2. What do you know about the impact of ICT’s on student learning?

Some of the impact of ICT in student learning is its help to improves engagement and knowledge
retention that helps student in learning. The reason is technology provides different opportunities to
make it more fun easy and enjoyable to learns the same thing but in different ways. Aside from that
information become easily to acquire, just looking from the internet and you can find those things that
difficult for you to understand just by reading a book. But we still should be wise in every information
we get from internet we need to make sure the credibility of each information to make sure that it really
help our learning. ICT applied in assisting student to be more effective in their learning. In fact it’s not
only the student who benefit with the breakthrough of ICT in education but also the teacher. ICT aids
the teacher in doing administrative work efficiently. ICT appears to be a force which has change lot of
aspect in student learning. Its influence a lot of field not just in education but also field where in affect our
whole life. ICT could affect the student learning in positive and negative way, it up to us if we will let the negative
things affect our learning while in studying and in life we should be wise, gathering information also need critical
analysis to make sure that we acquire the right information to helps in our learning.

3. What do you know about the impact of ICT’s in student motivation and engagement in learning.

ICT makes learning more fun and easier for student to engage and motivating them to learn. It provides
as a motivation to learners that improve their critical thinking skills. With the use of ICT the student take
more interest in learning and commitment to their task that result to opportunities for them to learn
more. ICT motivate not just the student but also the teacher in learning. ICT also helps to boost
confidence of the student because they are able to acquire knowledge that being helpful for them in
participating class. As many student are interested in new things ICT achieve the concept in learning
things in an interesting way and easiest route as possible. Motivation undoubtedly is the key in any
learning. Therefore it’s important to motivate the student as long as we can to help them engage in
learning. While ICT used as form of a tool in education it’s also important the context and bountiful
ideas to be able to used it in its right purpose in education. ICT is a part of our everyday life and using ICT
devises such as computers and tablets in the classroom motivate learners more to engage in learning.

1. Research strategies to enhance student critical thinking skills.

Some of the strategies I found in internet are Begin lesson with a probing question this question should
inspire discovery learning and problem solving. Encourage creativity. Giving Independence it allow
student to become critical thinkers because they will have to create their own idea. Build opportunities
for student to find connections in learning. Encourage the student to relate their task in real life
situation the use of real world scenarios will increase rigor, relevance and critical thinking skills.

2. What step can be taken to develop higher order thinking skills?

The step that can be taken to develop higher order thinking skills are engaging in the task collaborating
with your classmate and make the task together. Higher order thinking skills are develop by asking
questions getting ideas from other people and comparing those ideas to what you made. Collaboration
is the key to develop thinking skill by sharing and making ideas asking question and solving it by your
own with the help of people you collaborated that gave you additional ideas and learning.
