4 RECRUITMENT, TRAINING AND PROMOTION

3.4.1 Recruitment
This will be done by manager together with other administrative staff in a direct interview
process. Candidate will be hired according to skills and qualifications required.
3.4.2 Training
This will be done to the newly recruited staff for a period of not less than four weeks after they
become permanently employed.
3.4.3 Promotion
This will be done through seniority systems where it shall take into consideration the length of
service done by an employee.
Merit system shall also be applied where worker qualifications for the position and an effective
performance.
3.5 REMUNERATION AND INCETIVES
3.5.1 Remuneration

3.5.2 Incentives
The business will offer morning tea and lunch every day and in addition, employees will be
offered loans at affordable interest rate so as to improve their living standards.
3.6 LICENCES, PERMITS AND BY-LAWS
3.6.1 Licences
Pongwe supreme chicken farm will register a trade license from the county government at ksh
10,000 yearly before starting the business .The purpose of getting a license is for the business to
be allowed by the government to take place in county.
3.6.2 Permits
Pongwe supreme chicken farm will have its permit from the district officer, Thika town, Kiambu
County.
3.6.2 By-laws
These are laws that will govern the conduct of the business in relation to its employees.
 Employment act-rules that will protect employees from exploitation by employer.
 Health act-ensures that employees work in conducive environment free from diseases.
3.7 SUPPORT SERVICES
These are the s4rvices which will enable the business to carry out its operations effectively.
3.7.1 Banking services
The business will open a business account at Equity bank since the bank has good services and
cheaper transaction fees.
The purpose of this account is for paying employees and for customers to pay for our services.
3.7.2 Insurance services
Pongwesupreme farm will be insured by poultry against the chicken farm and its employees.
3.7.3 Consulting services
Pongwe supreme chicken farm will have the general manager as the consultancy services
provider. He will advise on how employees will conduct the farms services.
