Activity
Draw and label the parts of the sandwich below.

Look around your kitchen

1. In the chart below, list down the food-contact surfaces that need to be cleaned
and sanitized in your home. At least 5 surfaces.
2. Write the method of cleaning and sanitizing that should be used for each specific
area.
3. Indicate what tools and materials you are going to use for each method.

1.Cutting board
To cutting board, wash it by hand. Use hot water, a rag or sponge, and a little
liquid dish soap. Be sure to clean both sides, even if you only used one. Rinse it
under hot water, pat it dry with a towel, then wait for it to dry.

2.Kitchen utensils
Clean your kitchen utensils in hot water with an antibacterial detergent. When
sanitizing kitchen tools and equipment, use either boiling water or a solution of
bleach and water. Store your tools in a regularly cleaned plastic or metal box to
keep the germs away.

3.Refrigerator
Throw out the recalled food, and any other foods stored with it or touching it.
Empty the rest of the items in your refrigerator and put them on a counter or table
while you clean. Take out shelving, drawers, and any other removable parts. Wash
shelving, drawers, and any other removable parts by hand with hot, soapy water.
Dry with a clean towel. Wipe the inside of the empty refrigerator with hot, soapy
water, then wipe with clean water to rinse off soap. Dry with a clean towel. Put the
shelves, drawers, and other removable parts back in the refrigerator, along with the
other items you took out.

4.Pots and pans

Fill your pot or pan with hot water. Hot water is effective at removing stuck on
food and stains. You shouldn't put non-stick, cast iron, or aluminum pots and pans
in a dish washer. Put two drops of mild dish soap in the water. Mix the soap and
water together until the dish soap starts to Sud. You can use dish soap on most
materials like copper, stainless steel, aluminum, and non-stick pots and pans.
scrub the inside and outside of the pot or pan with a sponge. Let hot water and soap
sit in the pot or pan for a few minutes first. Then, concentrate on spots that have
stuck-on food or areas that are particularly dirty. Rinse the pot or pan with hot
water. Hold the pot or pan under the faucet until you rinse away all the remaining
soap suds. If you don't rinse your pots or pans thoroughly, your food may taste like
soap.

5.Kitchen table
Wipe the table with a dry cloth. Use a lint-free cloth to wipe any dust, dirt, or food
off the table. Wipe the table with a damp cloth. For a basic cleaning, dampen a
cloth with warm water and wipe down the surface of the table. Create a solution
that’s equal parts white vinegar and water and pour it into a spray bottle. Squirt the
table with the solution and then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth until the
surface shines.

C.ENGAGEMENT

Assessment
1.DO YOU LIKE OR DISLIKE YOUR SANDWICH? WHY
I like my sandwich because it is made with a special filling and spread that I made.
Also, I put up an effort thinking how can I make it possible in our house with
limited resources and time only.

2.DO YOU LIKE HOW ITWAS PRESENTED? WHY?

Yes, because I look for an inspo in a lot of pictures and videos in the internet just
to come up with the idea of how will I nicely present my very own sandwich.
Aside from that I do a lot of trial and errors before I finally get my desired look for
my sandwich.
3.HOW, CAN YOU IMPROVE YOUR SANDWICH?
Maybe if I have more time to plan and I have lots of other resources to choose
from, I'd definitely create a better sandwich that is more appetizing and good
looking. I might use other ingredients for my sandwich as well.

V. Reflection:
The learners will write their personal insights about the lesson using the prompts
below.

I understand that there are 4 different types of sandwiches and a sandwich have 3
main parts which are the Bread, Spreads, and the Fillings. Sandwich can be
classified in to 2 one is the hot sandwich and the other one is the cold sandwich
I realized that it is good to know how to make a sandwich because a sandwich is a
very versatile meal, you can have it for your breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even just
for a snack and you can always pair it with any kind of drinks that you would like.
