SUMMARY OF EVENT
Our topic today is all about the Webinar on disaster risk reduction and
management presented by Multi- Awarded Public Servant Mr. Rudy Derez Jr. What
is Disaster risk management? It is the implementation of plans and practices for
disaster risk reduction, disaster risk mitigation, residual risk management, resilience
enhancement and disaster loss reduction. disaster risk management is a disaster
risk reduction. The objective of the DRRO is to offer guidelines for the standard
training methods for general rescue procedures and rescue professionals with the
essential abilities to locate, extract and rescue victims from a range of situations
safely and efficiently.

The goal of rescue is to exhibit awareness of three types of rescue professionals,

personal attributes, and some key aspects of rescue activity. Survivors, untrained
personnel, and trained personnel are the three types of rescue workers. The rescuer
should ideally possess the following characteristics: interest, training, cooperation,
dependability, initiative, versatility, physical fitness, leadership capabilities, fear and
phobia control, and finally, good attire and demeanor. A few of more than important
general areas of conduct or behaviors follow Attitude, Emotions, Courtesy and
Confidentiality. The goal of rescue is to save as many lives as possible in the
shortest amount of time while minimizing further injury to people and property
damage. Access to and removal of trapped people during rescue operations are
common rescue functions. Assistance with the recovery of the dead and provision of
assistance to other services, authorities, or specialist teams on request. All rescuers
must be trained in basic life-sustaining first aid to recognized standards in order to
achieve the goal of rescue. Basic Life Support, First Aid, Ropemanship, Vehicular
Extrication, Victim Packaging, and Water Rescue are all part of a disaster rescue
operation.

For me, the duty of the disaster resilient community is simply to abide by the
standards that enable our community to remain stable. The role of the youth in
achieving disaster resilient communities is to be aware of and educated about the
proper measures to take in the event of an unexpected emergency or disaster. As a
youth, the things I can do to be disaster resilient are to educate and share my
knowledge with my fellow youth about disaster risk management, spread
awareness, and actively participate in our community programs.
