What I Can Do

The human population has grown rapidly since the 1700s, reaching 6.7 billion by mid-2009, causing extensive pollution globally. As a student, there are several things one can do to help the environment, such as planting trees to provide oxygen and reduce temperatures, educating others about family planning to reduce population growth, choosing sustainable practices like reduce, reuse, recycle, volunteering for community clean-ups to improve the local environment, and walking or biking to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

What I Can Do

The human population has increased rapidly since the 1700’s. For most of human history, there were
fewer than half-billion people on Earth. In mid- 2009, 6.7 billion people inhabited our planet. Because of
these, extensive pollution is everywhere. As a student, what can you do to save not only a particular
system, but the Earth itself? Tabulate your answer on a separate sheet of paper . Copy the template

MY ENVIRONMENTAL “TO DO” LIST
