The patient has an external fixator on their left leg which has impaired their mobility. The nursing diagnosis is impaired physical mobility of the lower extremity related to the external fixator. The objective is for the patient to demonstrate and verbalize proper exercises for the lower extremities and perform activities of daily living with minimal assistance after 3 days of nursing intervention. The nursing intervention is to assist with normal range of motion exercises and encourage progressive activities according to fatigue levels. The rationale is for recovery and increased use of the affected leg. After 3 days the goal is met as the patient regains their previous range of motion and demonstrates proper exercises.
