Analysis Assignment #4

This document contains the analysis of a fugue by J.S. Bach. It provides 7 questions with responses about structural and musical elements of the fugue. Key points addressed include: 1. The answer in m.3 is a tonal answer due to its use of a skip voicing rather than stepwise motion found in the subject. 2. The fugue exposition ends in m.9. 3. The next entry of the fugue subject occurs in m.11 in the key of Eb. Bach uses sequences of the subject head motive and secondary dominants to transition harmonically between these sections.
