I. Problem solving
An automobile traveling at the rate of 20 m/s is approaching an intersection. When the automobile is 100
meters from the intersection, a truck traveling at the rate of 40 m/s crosses the intersection. The automobile
and the truck are on perpendicular roads. How fast is the distance between the truck and the automobile
changing two seconds after the truck leaves the intersection?

Complete the solution below:


Let us assume that the automobile is travelling west while the truck is travelling south as illustrated below.
II. Directions:
➢ Make a video presentation with yourself explaining your solution and answer to every given.
(Make sure that yourself can be seen in the video as to make sure that you are answering the given
problems personally.)
➢ Explain briefly. Your video presentation should be less than 10 minutes in all.
➢ Video editor is not required in this activity. Thus, if you cannot create a whole 10-minute video,
you can have separate videos to every given problem.
➢ Speaking in English language for the whole video is not compulsory. However, clarity of your
explanation and content will be graded.
➢ Submit your video/s and photos of your answer in the google classroom.
➢ Students who are choosing online (blended) and modular mode of learning must perform this
activity as much as possible.
➢ For those students who are choosing modular and have difficulty in performing this activity, you
can make a voice recording through messenger while explaining your answer. Make sure that you
are using messenger account with real name indicated in your certificate of enrollment (COE).
Photos of your answer should be sent also via messenger.
