The changes that are occurring in the social and cultural life of the society as a result of the
impact of advancements in the science based technology are broadly described as
modernization. Since education is a multi polar process , it is influenced by the
modernization in different ways. A profession is a dynamic integration of various faculties of
knowledge. Since nursing education is a professional education , it is dynamic by its own
nature and thereby giving rise to trends . A number of issues and controversies now face
educators and communities: social issues and ethical issues.Nursing has been called the
oldest of the art, and the youngest of the profession. The trend analysis and future scenarios
provide a basis for sound decision making through mapping of possible futures and aiming to
create preferred futures.

planned and implemented through instruction and discipline and aims the harmonious
development of the physical intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual abilities of the student
in order to render professional nursing care to people of all ages.Trends in Education are 1.)

learning process for teachers and for their schools. Good understanding of change and clear
conception of curriculum are necessary conditions for improved implementation of new
curriculum into practice. 2.) Innovation in teaching and learning ,Innovation in education
encourages teachers and students to explore, research and use all the tools to uncover
something new. It involves a different way of looking at problems and solving them. The
thinking process that goes into it will help students develop their creativity and their problem
solving skills 3.) Educational Quality assurance involves the systematic review
of educational provision to maintain and improve its quality, equity and efficiency. It
encompasses school self-evaluation, external evaluation (including inspection), the evaluation
of teachers and school leaders, and student assessments. 4.) Reliance to Technology, people
becoming increasingly dependent on technology, particularly software technology. What
started as a simple matter of convenience slowly crept into our lives and at times, holds us
hostage.
Factors Affecting Change: 1.Culture, it determines the beliefs and values important to the
learner that may delineate her potential development for change, some cultures compete with
change, other welcome change while some resist change, thus, the socio-cultural background

innate qualities and potentials as well as tendencies and level of response of the learners to a
learning stimulus.3. Socio-economic Conditions and Environmental Circumstances, this

influence the quality and quantity of response to the change process.4. State of wellness and
development, the learners’ state of well-being and development relate to his physical,
emotional , intellectual and spiritual health. This affects the instinctive qualities of the learners’
response to a stimuli and capability of coping with stress related situations. Change and its
effect on the Filipino health value system, 1. Home Remedies, these include simple touch

water intake and ventilated rooms, among others. 2.Traditional healing techniques , these

medical intervention or medical equipment ( ex: herbal meds ). 3. Supernatural Healing or
the use of faith healers, it is a holistic and uniform approach to healing belief in the
concurrent physical , emotional, and spiritual state of the patient. 4. Regulated Drugs or
