3DS Install Guide

This document will explain the fastest method to install Eternal X or Wilting Y, using Luma
custom firmware’s game patching feature. This requires that you have Luma3DS 10.0.1 or later
on your console already, and that you have a copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. This can be
digital or physical, or even an old Eternal X/Wilting Y install.
Follow the steps below to install the mod:
Legal (no Pokémon or move changes)
1. Copy the “luma” folder from Game Files/Legal Version in the EX or WY download pack
to the ROOT of your 3DS SD card. Merge any folders if prompted.
2. Put your SD card back in your 3DS
3. Press and hold SELECT as you boot your 3DS to access Luma’s settings menu
4. Select “Enable game patching” and press A
5. Press START to save changes
6. Uninstall any title updates for Pokémon X/Y via 3DS settings
7. That’s it! Launch your game and you should see the Eternal X or Wilting Y title screen.

Rebalanced (Pokémon and move changes, see documents for details)

1. Copy the “luma” folder from Game Files/Rebalanced Version in the EX or WY
download pack to the ROOT of your 3DS SD card.

Insanity (further increased difficulty, Pokémon and move changes optional)

1. Copy the “luma” folder from Game Files/Insanity Mode in the EX or WY download pack
to the ROOT of your 3DS SD card.

CONTINUED:
OPTIONAL: Viola Nerf (makes initial Viola battle easier)
1. After installing either the Legal or Rebalanced version, copy the “a” folder from the
“Viola Nerf” folder in the download to luma/titles/[TITLE ID*]/romfs on your 3DS SD
card. Merge folders and overwrite files when prompted.
2. Put the SD card back in your 3DS

*“TITLE ID” will be 0004000000055D00 for Pokémon X or 0004000000055E00 for Pokémon

Y.

!!! IMPORTANT: !!!

I haven’t been able to get the hack to play nice with the title update, so the Lumiose save
glitch is still present in the games. This means you shouldn’t save in the areas shown here:

If you accidentally save in this area and it breaks your save, simply install the title update, boot
up your game and save somewhere else. Then, uninstall the update and continue playing.
If you have any questions or want to suggest changes to either this guide or EXWY (criticism is
welcome!), please leave a post in EXWY's Pokecommunity thread or PM me.
Thanks for playing!
