Mini Research English Business

This mini research report summarizes a study conducted by 5 students to analyze the level of understanding of business English vocabulary among economics students at Medan State University. The study aimed to determine students' existing knowledge of business English vocabulary and the effectiveness of learning 50 new vocabulary words per day. Based on surveys of 20 students, 8 could speak English well while 12 struggled with vocabulary meanings. 13 agreed that learning 50 words daily would improve their vocabulary, while 7 felt it was too time consuming. In conclusion, many students still lacked business English vocabulary knowledge but increasing daily learning could help enhance their skills.

Mini Research Report is written as one of the assignments given to English
Business in the Office Administration Education Study Program, State
University of Medan.
The author realizes that Mini Research Report is still far from perfect and the
author is willing to accept suggestions and criticism if there are still mistakes
and shortcomings of this Mini Research Report.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to determines the level of


understanding and knowledge of students of the faculty of
economics at Medan State University mengeani business English
courses and also to determine the effectiveness of the
application of 50 vocabulary every day. As well as what barriers
they face in understanding the English language

CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY

A.Background Writing

In understanding a foreign language, especially English, each


individual must be able to know the vocabulary in that language. In
order to master the language. English is the international language, if an
individual wants to remain competitive in today's era, people should be
able to master the English language, before learning how to talk in
English, indiviu should be able to know the vocabulary either from the
base and deeper, so that when learning

B.issues

-Whether in business English is very important?

-Is it lack of vocabulary a person affects the way they speak English?

-Have each student already knows English vocabulary business?

-Whether the application of 50 vocabulary per day effective?

C.The Aim

The purpose of this study to fulfill one of the tasks of business


English language.The purpose of this observation is to answer all the
questions that tune inl from within ourselves on the level of students'
knowledge of the vocabulary in the English language of business and the
effectiveness of 50 vocabulary every day.
CHAPTER II
LITERATURE REVIEW

A.Theoretical basis
Mini research report that we made use some references such as
textbooks English business, internet and journals related to the reports
we have made.
B.Hypothesis
There are still many students vocabulary of the English
language,especially the English language business is slow, maybe it is
due to the low level of awareness of the English language. Due to lack
of vocabulary that they have it lead to difficulty speaking in English.
Application of 50 vocabulary every day is very effective because it can
increase the vocabulary of the English language them somewhat they
understand when other people speak in English.
CHAPTER III
DISCUSSION AND EVALUATION

A.Research methods
The research method that researchers do with the way distributing
questionnaires and qualitative data collection

B.Research subject

The subject of this research is Students of the Faculty of


Economics, and researchers conducted the study at the State University
of Medan.

C.Research result
Based on our research results, about 8 out of 20 students who are
able to speak in English, and their knowledge of English vocabulary
is also very much.While 12 other students they are still puzzled by the
meaning of the vocabulary that we made as a test to determine their
vocabulary. And based on the results ofour study 13 of the 20 students
did agree with the application of 50 vocabulary per day, so an
understanding of the vocabulary in the English language can be
improved, while seven other students were very heavy beanggapan
coupled with the job so much. From the research that we can in fact still
many students who do not understand the English language with good
business and also has not implemented 50 vocabulary every day.
CHAPTER IV
CLOSING

A.Conclusion
Based penilitian which we did for a few days was still a
lotmerka vocabulary knowledge is still small, but vocabulary that
will help them in mastering the English language to be able to speak in
English. This is due to the lack of level of awareness about the
importance of English in their career.

B.Implications / Recommendations

The author hopes that some people who know or understand


spoken English can improve your vocabulary and ability to speak
English and for English language support has not been able bebricara let
memorize vocabulary vocabulary of at least 20 per day to be able to
speak in English.
C.Limitation
Limitations or constraints that we faced during our
observations are still many students who do not want to fill out a
questionnaire that we provide stimulation they fear making mistakes in
filling out the question that we provide in the questionnaire.
